Hi,

I’m 29 and on cycle 2 of TTC. I’m 3dpo and now in my two week wait. I have no friends with children or anyone who is TTC so looking for online buddies to ride this out with!

Anybody in the same boat as me who wants to chat and be a little neurotic together?

Xx

How are you doing today @mrsmummy111? I get the 1yo stress. Mines 22m and fortunately we have a decent garden so she charges round that, plus a dog so she has to go out for walks when we take her out. Otherwise she just gets bored and then naughty or destructive! Ttc is hard for anyone regardless of how many kids you might or might not have. The feeling of wanting a baby is the same!

I'm lucky that I'm still going out to work, I can't imagine what it must be like for most people just stuck indoors or trying to work from home. I don't like all my colleagues but at least they are different faces!

Wineandrun · 22/05/2020 07:30

Honestly @mrsmummy111 and @Sammyclaire22 I could have written your threads. My kids have been driving me to the brink, they are amazing but it’s such hard work. what I’m mostly terrified of now, though is we are in such a good place with them, out of nappies, fairly independent, can ride bikes etc, the thought of going back to square one is really strange! But I knew our family wasn’t complete and DH agreed. This baby is as longed for as the others were.

I totally get the ‘meh’ feeling, it’s so hard to concentrate on anything else when TTC but you’re don’t want to get obsessed either. And when life isn’t normal and you don’t have your usual distractions it’s really tough. Like you @Sammyclaire22 I’m so glad I get to go out to work and actually see other people. Although I too desperately want my life back. I’m worried about some of my friends who have gone quiet, I want a proper coffee shop coffee, my kids are begging to go to soft play (not that I miss that hell!!!) and yeah....life in a pandemic is hard!

Love to you all xx

Thanks so much for your lovely replies @Sammyclaire22 @Wineandrun

In a weird way it's actually quite reassuring to know that I'm not the only one struggling a little, I think it's just a lot to deal with and the stresses of TTC are just adding a whole new dimension. We are also battling nap hell! DS has always been a BIG sleeper, but he's 13 months now and has been fighting his naps like a goodun. Sometimes (literally) running around his cot for over an hour / hour and a half for both his naps before finally falling asleep then waking up after 45 mins (used to do a 3h lunch nap). So I think it's time to transition to 1 nap, but he's overtired where I've had to push the nap back so isn't sleeping long enough and is then an overtired mess the whole afternoon. Do either of you have any good tips for getting through it! Early bedtime is helping, but that = early mornings and overtired again by nap time!

Sorry I know this is a TTC thread so maybe I should PM you if you do have any advice for getting through that 2-1 nap transition! Xx

Sammyclaire22 · 22/05/2020 18:01

I'm happy to make a private thread or can add on Facebook? Will have to make a private group or something though so I don't let slip lol

I followed a day routine with my lg- we had awful problems from the start with colic then reflux and milk allergies so I started it in desperation! It worked well though and was really helpful for nap transitions. I started to cut her morning nap at 9.30 down to 10 mins and then lunch nap at 12.30-2.30, no longer than 2 hours, then bed for 7. When she fought lunch nap then i dropped morning nap totally and you can bring lunch nap forward but I make sure she's up by 2.30 (all based on a 7-7 day) it's not everyone's cup of tea but I found having something telling me what to do helped when I was so tired!
We're dropping her lunch nap down now as shes fighting bedtime. We've been potty training so she likes to try for a wee about 5 times too 🙈 if bean stays put then I think we might need to move to a cot bed as I can't keep lifting her in and out!

Hi Everyone

Can anyone else see this faint line or am I loosing the plot?

I know you would think by our 50th month of trying I would be more aware. I do not usually test early.

It has more colour in person than in the photo I'm 9dpo.

X

Wineandrun · 23/05/2020 07:55

That is very very very definitely a line!!!!!! Congratulations!!!!!!!!!!

Wineandrun · 23/05/2020 07:56

Do you have any symptoms? What made you test? So happy for you xx

Sammyclaire22 · 23/05/2020 08:01

I see a line, and if its got colour that's a really good sign. It looks a lot darker than mine did at 9dpo too! X

justacouplettc · 23/05/2020 08:24

I am really trying not to get my hopes up as in all this time I've never had anything resembling a positive test.

I am very tired, sore breasts, headaches and a couple of times I've felt nauseous. But I also know after all this time you can convince yourself you feel things or it's just hormones x

Sammyclaire22 · 23/05/2020 08:49

Really hope it's the real deal for you, getting a line is the first hurdle but it always feels like there are so many more. Symptoms are another good sign, I've not had many this time so far so keep testing to make sure lol

Hopefulmummie · 23/05/2020 08:57

Hi everyone I'm new to this thread. Currently 13dpo and AF due tomorrow. I've attached my bbt thread. Any thoughts?

justacouplettc · 23/05/2020 10:37

Thanks everyone to say I'm shocked is an understatement.

I'll test again in a few days 🤞 x

mrsmummy111 · 24/05/2020 09:26

Thanks @Sammyclaire22 - do you follow Blissful Baby Expert? We follow almost exactly the same routine as you and DS has always been the best sleeper - but he started taking an age to go down for his second nap so we have shortened morning nap down to 20 mins and he's back sleeping 2h at lunch. I tried doing 1 nap for a few days but he was an overtired mess almost the entire day. He's back to his happy smily self now thank goodness! But thank you so so much for your advice.

How's potty training going?

@Wineandrun How are you feeling??

@Lolliloo1234 Hope you're also feeling a little better, looking forward to hearing your news whenever you're ready to rejoin us

WOW!!!! @justacouplettc , that's an unquestionable positive! And a decent line for 9DPO too. How are you feeling today?

Welcome @Hopefulmummie - welcome!!! personally I don't read tooooo much into my BBT. I had a bad habit of comparing my monthly chart with the chart from when I conceived DS and every month it did the same thing. Shot up at ovulation and stayed high until the day AF arrived when it dipped again. The only time I'd question it if were I bled but my temp stayed high which may indication implantation. Has AF arrived yet?

justacouplettc · 24/05/2020 11:20

Thanks @mrsmummy111 it still doesn't feel possible if I'm honest, in a state of shock. Have a slight pulling sensation across my stomach today, tested again and the line is darker 🤞 xx

Hopefulmummie · 24/05/2020 12:24

I got a bfp!! I can't believe it!!! I really was not expecting this even though all the signs were there

@mrsmummy111 AF was due today and Never late I was also feeling about nauseous this morning so that's why I tested

Sammyclaire22 · 24/05/2020 12:34

Ahh lovely news! Congrats guys. Mines not sunk in yet and I've known over a week! xx

@mrsmummy111 I use the little ones programme but I think they are all much of a muchness. I'm glad his sleep had improved, it's easy to forget how much you rely on them sleeping well to get the rest of the day done! Potty training is going well, I got the oh crap book and it's been pretty straightforward fortunately- we did it a lot earlier than I expected to! The odd accident and not worried about nights yet but she's pretty sorted in the day now. It's so much easier not having to clean messy nappies! Just worried about how she will transition going back to nursery.

justacouplettc · 24/05/2020 13:13

Congratulations @Hopefulmummie 💖 xx

mrsmummy111 · 24/05/2020 14:01

It'll tell you what girls, this thread is a good luck thread! I think I'm the only one of us so far who hasn't got a bfp (I know my turn will come, we haven't been trying long!) but it's so so wonderful to see so many of you with positive tests. Lots of happy mummy's and mummy's to be today! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

Wineandrun · 24/05/2020 14:23

Afternoon everyone! I can’t keep up with the developments, congratulations @Hopefulmummie fantastic news!

I’ve been feeling ok, almost too ok yesterday! Boobs are a bit sore and still some cramping, the odd bit of nausea. I wish I could remember when I got symptoms with the other two! I’ve had the worst stomach ache today though, a proper stabbing just next to my bellybutton. I’ve been at work since 0730 though and finally on a break now so hoping some food and a sit down sorts me out. I’ve just had a bad feeling since my BFP, I’m probably just being silly because I’m so desperate for it to stick.

Still got everything crossed for you this cycle @mrsmummy111!!! I’ve been trying to remember how I got mine to drop their naps, I will message you when I’ve had a think!

Wineandrun · 25/05/2020 10:26

Morning everyone. Just fancied saying hi, I’m finding it tough with no one knowing I’m pregnant, it’s all I want to think about 😂 how are you all?x

Sammyclaire22 · 25/05/2020 12:54

Afternoon!
I'm the same @wineandrun... Even my dh doesn't want to talk much about it now the initial novelty has worn off. I caved and told a friend at work last week but mainly so I hope she helps me cover any symptoms I have or helps to make sure we have social distancing (even though we are in a hospital our managers still seem to think they can cram us into desks next to each other) just impatient to find out if it's all OK, it feels like time is going so slowly!

We all have fc for you @mrsmummy111! Where abouts are you in your cycle now? X

yeswedodotakeaway · 25/05/2020 17:37

I know exactly what you mean @Sammyclaire22 @Wineandrun. Feel free to come on here and share how you're feeling anytime.

We actually found out we were pg with DS 3 weeks before our wedding so I told my bridesmaids (best friends & sisters) on the day as I needed them to cover for me as obviously I wasn't drinking. I was secretly glad that I had people to share it with early on & I think even this time I will tell the same girls. Everyone's different & some of us have told each other right away and others haven't told until the 12 week scan has gone well, but I figure if anything happened I'd want to talk about it with them anyway. But I guess I'll wait and see how i feel when it comes to it!

Have all you ladies had a nice day in the sunshine?

I'm on CD8 and started using CB ovulation sticks yesterday. Nothing yesterday but flashing smiley today....so theoretically may be ovulating on CD12?!?! IM SO CONFUSED. Last months I thought I ovulated CD17. It's all over the place and I've no idea what's happening 🤣 ah well....no use stressing about it just gotta get to it and hope we catch it (whenever it may be) x

yeswedodotakeaway · 25/05/2020 18:01

Hahaha sorry that was me ( @mrsmummy111 ) I namechanged for something else and never ended up doing anything with it. Will change back now 👍🏼

Sammyclaire22 · 25/05/2020 19:29

Haha I did wonder! The name made me think of the liver joke (do you do liver? Deliver...)
I'm glad I told the friend at work, she's had mc too and one just before Xmas which I didn't know about til we chatted, so she understands. I've been at work today- all on my own in the office! But had 20 mins in the sun on the roof lol

Whats your cycle normally like? Or everywhere each month?

Have you lot been enjoying the sun? Xx

Wineandrun · 25/05/2020 20:16

Loving the sun here, it’s been the most normal feeling day in ages, we took the kids to a river for a paddle and a picnic.

Ovulation tracking sounds really hard, it seems to me like you’ll just have to DTD everyday and hope for the best!! It’s honestly a miracle anyone ever gets pregnant.
