Hi there,
I’m very new to mumsnet and in my first month of trying to conceive.
All the info out there is really overwhelming and just wanted to start a thread for the people in the same boat.

I have been feeling crap all weekend - frequent need to pee, waking up feeling nauseous, exhausted, sore, heavy boobs etc!

Period due tomorrow - I’ve done a test early today as I was fed up waiting around to find out - test is negative. 🙃 I guess I’ll wait to see now if my period shows up over the next few days! Actually annoyed at myself for doing the test now tbh as I knew it was too early - so now i sure if it is negative or just that I did it too soon! Doh

jessmcg · 10/05/2020 15:13

@TTCgee I tried Evening Primrose Oil last month and I got incredibly sick from it. You’re meant to start it ideally on day 1 of your cycle eg when AF arrives. Give it a go as it’s meant to help with cm and my friend says it has really helped her, but it was a nightmare for me!

Re: testing. See if you can leave it a day or two? Xxx

KaptenKrusty · 10/05/2020 15:31

I’m gonna wait now for about 3/4 days ! Keeping myself busy! If I wasn’t in lockdown I probably wouldn’t have bothered testing early as I’d have been busy and not constantly thinking about it it haha

TTCgee · 10/05/2020 15:46

@jessmcg oh really? Thanks for letting me know I'll keep it in mind while I give it a go and stop if it makes me feel weird! Yeah - I've never had the Egg white CM which always stresses me out so I want to try what I can 🙏🏼

Yeah I think I'm definitely at least going to wait until tomorrow to test (although I really want to just to know!)

Totally agree - the temptation is never usually this strong but lockdown gives waaaay too much thinking time!

mrsgtobe97 · 10/05/2020 15:51

Climbing the walls here not knowing what's going on with me 😫 spotting hasn't even came to anything and hasn't been red at all just brown, now 3 weeks late for AF and gotten a mix of faint BFP and negatives. Hopefully get my blood test results tomorrow morning and speak to a doctor

jbx10 · 10/05/2020 16:15

@mrsgtobe97 it does sound like you could be pregnant being 3 weeks late for AF & if you've had some faint lines too. At least you will get a definite answer tomorrow not much longer to wait, I have my fingers crossed for you!! Xxx

jessmcg · 10/05/2020 16:25

@mrsgtobe97 thinking of you and fingers crossed you’ll have these blood test results back tomorrow. At least you’ll then know either way! Just remember that you’ve seen those positive lines, however faint. Hoping it’s all ok x x

mrsgtobe97 · 10/05/2020 16:31

@jbx10 @jessmcg thank you both 😊 I know I keep telling myself I definitely seen the lines so there was / is something there, I just want to know what's going on now either way 🙈 such a minefield TTC!

TTCgee · 10/05/2020 16:34

@mrsgtobe97 sending love to you! I'll be thinking of you and hoping you get the positive result at the doctors tomorrow xxx

mrsgtobe97 · 10/05/2020 16:36

@TTCgee thank you! 😊 will update you all as soon as I know. I've had some pains down below so unsure if I tell this it might help in getting an ultrasound? 😬 xxx

KatieG200394 · 10/05/2020 16:37

@mrsgtobe97 thinking of you, hope its all okay for you tomorrow xx

Vil10 · 10/05/2020 16:47

@mrsgtobe97 I have everything crossed for you!!xx

Squidge12 · 10/05/2020 17:01

@mrsgtobe97 fingers crossed for you xx

mrsgtobe97 · 10/05/2020 17:25

@Squidge12 @Vil10 @KatieG200394 thank you all, I hope something good comes of tomorrow 🤞🏼🤞🏼 will update as soon as possible! Xxx

Vil10 · 10/05/2020 21:00

So af seems to have finished tonight, after only 4 days!! Think I’ll start using opk tomorrow, definitely going to take the advice of fertility yoga too!

TheDaydreamBelievers · 11/05/2020 08:14

Hows everyone doing this week? @mrsgtobe97 I'm hoping things go well for you.

Still no period for me so general plan is have a lot of sex, test ovulation often, and keep recording temperature to see if I can get a handle on things. The wonders of the female body, eh?

jessmcg · 11/05/2020 08:31

@TheDaydreamBelievers That’s all you can do! You’re taking all the right proactive steps. I’m on CD7 so BD and testing starts this week. With the exception of a drink over the weekend and some baking that I’ve been doing to relax, I feel like I’m in a good place this month. Let’s see what happens!

How’s everyone doing?

TheDaydreamBelievers · 11/05/2020 08:33

Sorry @jessmcg , what is BD?

TTCgee · 11/05/2020 08:42

feeling low today because AF showed up 😭 I even knew it would but when you are a day late you can't help but get excited (or at least I can't) trying to see this month as a new month though and be positive.

I'm half wondering whether to just totally relax this month - enjoy a few drinks / stop tracking everything so obsessively and see it that approach works? Sometimes I think I just think abiut it that much that it's never going to happen!

mrsgtobe97 · 11/05/2020 09:09

Hi everyone, woke up and AF is in fullllll swing, so deffo a chemical. But I'm not too down, at least we did manage to conceive 😬 we aren't trying again until August due to our wedding date and wouldn't want to be giving birth the week before our wedding 😂 don't know whether to still phone docters and say what's happened or leave it? Xxx

jessmcg · 11/05/2020 09:10

@TheDaydreamBelievers it means Baby Dance 😉

@TTCgee I’m so sorry. Totally know how you’re feeling. There probably is something in taking the time to relax where you can. I used to measure my temperature and actually it made me so anxious that I stopped doing it. You’re entering a new cycle, so maybe agree to a few new things that you’re going to do to take your mind off things each month? It’s hard if you’re a planner not having control of when you’ll conceive, I know. Xx

jbx10 · 11/05/2020 09:57

@mrsgtob97 sorry to hear that but it is good to know your trying to think positive and look forward. Completely agree with @jessmcg for ladies who like to plan it is so hard to accept TTC is out of our control. Xxxx

TTCgee · 11/05/2020 10:01

@jessmcg thank you! Yeah I think that's it. I'm so organised with everything and it's like you think you can organise your body into getting pregnant but that just isn't how life happens is it!

@mrsgtobe97 I'm really sorry to hear that but good to hear you are staying positive xxx

jessmcg · 11/05/2020 10:04

@mrsgtobe97 Thinking of you and sending ❤️. I know it’s hard but it’s nice that you’ll have your wedding as something to look forward to and plan over the next few months - a really good distraction and a happy thing too. Think I’d still get a doctor check up if you can xx

jessmcg · 11/05/2020 10:06

@jbx10 It’s so hard for highly organised women who love to plan! It’s the hardest thing I’ve found actually. I’ve started doing a meditation programme to help me let go. Very unlike me but I’ll try anything to help me calm down at the moment!!
