Hi there,
I’m very new to mumsnet and in my first month of trying to conceive.
All the info out there is really overwhelming and just wanted to start a thread for the people in the same boat.

@TTCgee yes, every time!

Was anyone else really surprised when they first starting trying at how hard it is and how much goes into ttc?
Looking back on a myself a few months I can’t believe how naive I was 😂 “just don’t use protection and of course it will happen” oh how wrong was I

@TTCgee, yep!

@Gsr14 yes! Everyone I know pretty much got pregnant by accident, a friend of mines currently 15 weeks and had a drunken night..and bam.. Baby!

TTCgee · 07/05/2020 18:32

Yeah this is my experience too! So many of my friends are getting pregnant (which is amazing) but most seem to have just come off and it happened first time so it then makes you worry! Also I’ve not seen any EWCM yet in my cycles ... it’s just very watery (but doesn’t stretch at all) around ovulation. Has anyone else found that at all?

TTCgee · 07/05/2020 18:38

@Gsr14 @Pol96 just realised I didn't tag you guys in my reply! Still figuring out MN and how it works! 🙈

TTCgee · 07/05/2020 18:40

@katieG200394 mine are exactly the same. On the pill for 14 years and came off 6 months ago. My periods are regular but last 1-3 days and are verrry very light. TMI but sometimes I don't even need a tampon as it's more like spotting? But I'm definitely not pregnant (unfortunately 😭)

Gsr14 · 07/05/2020 19:54

@TTCgee I haven’t been tracking CM so not sure what is what but may start trying this month :/

I reckon the reason why it seems like everyone gets pregnant so easy is because they are the only ones you hear about. I’m sure people who have tried for ages aren’t going to want to talk about it that much once it finally happens for them!

@KatieG200394 I'm glad you asked this Q it's something I'd been worrying about. I came off my pill end of April and not had any spotting/first period yet. I had heavy EWCM earlier this week, but I'm not sure if that's just my body getting used to coming off the pill. I've just been worrying how long it might take for my first Period, but so helpful Having this thread and hearing everyone else's experiences coming off the pill xxx

TTCgee · 07/05/2020 20:19

@Gsr14 yeah that's probably very true! You only hear the good stuff I suppose! Yeah I only really heard what it was a month or so ago but now I'm obsessed with it 🤣 (or the not having it) urghhh stressful!

KatieG200394 · 07/05/2020 20:52

@jbx10 we're in this together then, I came off mine at the end of April too, its good knowing other people are in the same position though xx

Aokbaby · 07/05/2020 21:16

@TTCgee I'm in the same position as you. Came off pill 6months ago after being on about 14years, periods have been every month but like you very light and yes I convince myself every month that I am!! x

Nutella0305 · 07/05/2020 21:24

I'm 10 dpo today and af due Sunday.....I've had mild cramps for the last hour but not strong enough for tablets.... is it my body playing tricks on me I never usually get pain so far in advance before af arrives ...and if its irregular its always late rather than earlier. I'm thinking theres a weeny chance it's an implantation pain but at the same time laughing at myself thinking how ridiculous as if it will be . Thoughts pls xxx

Aokbaby · 07/05/2020 21:29

@Nutella0305 sounds promising, fingers crossed!! Do you think you'll test or wait till sun? x

jbx10 · 07/05/2020 21:30

@katieg200394 definitely good to know others in the Same position & we have this thread as support through our journeys xx

TTCgee · 07/05/2020 21:35

@Aokbaby it’s always nice to hear other people in the same boat. It’s so reassuring because I feel like I’m going crazy! My Hubby is very supportive but also just very relaxed and thinks I’m stressing when there’s no reason too! Think my big worry is just that I don’t ever get the egg white CM! Which seems to be quite important ... but do get the LH surge on my OPK so trying to stay positive 🥰

TTCgee · 07/05/2020 21:37

@Nutella0305 I’m the exact same today!! AF due any time between tomorrow and Sunday but was having cramps 2 days ago which never normally happens with me! I did read about your cervix position being important though - apparently if it’s stayed high and soft that’s a good indication your pregnant but if it’s dropped lower and feels hard (like the end of your nose rather than your lips apparently) then it’s a sign AF is on the way. So I had a feel and mine is definitely ‘firm’ so not holding out much hope for this cycle! Preparing myself mentally for AF to arrive! Xxx

Aokbaby · 07/05/2020 21:43

@TTCgee that's great about the LH surge, I'm waiting for my testing strips to come. I've only ever had one day of ewcm and that was last month so I was so hopeful but no. I've been reading A LOT about the importance of it too and have found articles that say you can still be producing cm it just might not be actually discharged into pants? Holding out hope that this is the case.
Can I ask which pill you were on? x

TTCgee · 07/05/2020 22:01

@Aokbaby that's good to hear! I almost sometimes think there is too much information - it's like overload and if you don't get all the good signs it can start to make you worry. 😖 ...
Yesss I started out on dianet for the first couple of years (when I was around 14!) then moved onto Marvelon as was told I couldn't be on dianet anymore! Then was on marvelon from being around 16 until Nov 19 with no breaks. I really wish I'd known more about the pill now and come off sooner. I think I naively thought I'd come off at get caught straight away! Xxx

Aokbaby · 07/05/2020 23:01

@TTCgee I was on dianette to begin with too, was on it for my skin. Then I started Yasmin and stopped in Dec. I took a break for about 6 months about 6years ago but my skin was so bad I went back on it again. I never really thought about any complications down the line at the time especially as it's so widely written that the pill doesn't affect fertility and the doctors never mention it and same as you I naively thought it'd happen first time too. Really glad you've been on it for so long as well, everyone I've spoken to has been on less than 10years and I've been totally freaking out, thanks x

TTCgee · 08/05/2020 07:43

@Aokbaby yesss I've been the same! It's good to have someone who's experiencing similar 🥰 I also went on it for my skin!

The annoying thing is my skin did get worse when I came off this time but it's actually started to clear up again now (after 6 months) so I wish I'd just come off years ago but like you I never thought about any negative side effects!

I'll be keeping everything crossed for us that we will both be fine and get BFPs soon 🥰🙏🏼

Vil10 · 08/05/2020 09:58

Just a quick question, how did everyone find their first few af when coming off the pill? My first two were fine, not much pain and lighter than what I was expecting but I’m on day two of my third af since coming off and I’m in quite a bit of pain and yesterday I was very heavy! TMI I know but I just wanted to know if anyone else had experienced an af like that??xx

Aokbaby · 08/05/2020 09:58

@TTCgee me too, lots of love xx

hopeful97 · 08/05/2020 10:23

I came off the pill start of December and didn't get my first period until 20th March and it was so light and only lasted 2/3 days. Hasn't appeared since though..

jessmcg · 08/05/2020 10:57

Hope everyone is doing well on here. Been silent the past few days working through the general pain of AF! Coming out the other side now and will shortly be back to TTC. Another month, but this time I’m hopeful! Hope you’re all having a lovely long weekend Smile

mrsgtobe97 · 08/05/2020 10:59

Okay soooo haven't had my blood results back yet but still no period so I took a FRER and got this, anyone see it? 🙈

Aokbaby · 08/05/2020 12:02

@Vil10 my first bleed after coming off pill was long about 8days, since that each month has been light,about 2days with red blood and maybe 2 with brown spotting. Very little cramps too until this month where I've been cramping majority of month,af is here but again quite light. Tmi but I'm only bleeding when I use toilet and very little on pad? This happen to anyone else?

@mrsgtobe97 oooh I think I see a line too, fingers crossed x
