Hi there,
I’m very new to mumsnet and in my first month of trying to conceive.
All the info out there is really overwhelming and just wanted to start a thread for the people in the same boat.

@Aokbaby same! Especially when told all my life not to have sex because you'll get pregnant, wish it was that easy 😂 oh that's so annoying! I hate stories like that that make you have the glimmer of hope, don't get me wrong hope is a good thing but not when it comes crushing down!

Aokbaby · 06/05/2020 16:52

@Nutella0305 did you notice your hair getting thinner especially around the hairline when you came off the pill too? The things we go through lol x

Nutella0305 · 06/05/2020 16:57

@Aokbaby
Yes I did it's gone really thin , a lot around hair line and it seems every time I wash it it's just getting so much thinner . Hoping the pregnacare prenatal will have the right vitamins inside to get my hair back on track but havent seen too much difference yet
Exactly....as long as we get our precious bundles soon we dont mind !!! Xx

Gsr14 · 06/05/2020 18:35

I’m getting really fed up now, had really bad cramps earlier and now having very very light spotting! Why can’t af just make an appearance properly, I swear it does this in purpose to make to constantly overthink everything 😩

OP posts:
Aokbaby · 06/05/2020 20:25

Oh no @Gsr14 the wait is horrible isn't it! It's so unfair how af and early pregnancy symptoms are almost identical, always overthinking x

Vil10 · 06/05/2020 20:31

@Gsr14 I’m exactly the same!! On day 3 of spotting, but only when I wipe! I’m trying not to get my hopes up but 3 days of spotting seems quite a lot?? Such a stressful time!x

jules5232 · 06/05/2020 21:43

3 days of spotting with out getting heavier does seem like a bit much to me. Have you had that happen before?

Vil10 · 06/05/2020 22:06

@jules5232 I had a little bit of spotting before my first natural period after coming off the pill but only 1 and a half days!x

Gsr14 · 07/05/2020 06:52

Af has well and truly arrived this morning!
It’s disappointing but I’m actually not feeling that bad about it, I think it’s because I know I’ve got you lot to talk to about it all.
Fingers crossed for next month!

@Gsr14 - I'll be with you tomorrow. Tested every morn from 9DPO as I planned to and BFN each day. AF tomorrow. Not too disappointed either, already planned for next month. We'll be on a similar path again so I'll continue to follow your journey closely with you :) xx

Gsr14 · 07/05/2020 07:36

@BelleDell will be so nice to be going through it together next month!

OP posts:
Vil10 · 07/05/2020 09:45

@Gsr14 and @BelleDell at least you’re both being positive and have each other for the next cycle! And you can start preparing as well!

I’m now on my 4th day of spotting and after getting my hopes up and convincing myself it was implantation bleeding I’ve just had a wave of cramps that definitely feel like af!! A bit disappointed as I secretly got excited even when my OH told me to not get ahead of myself, but there’s always the next cycle xx

Nutella0305 · 07/05/2020 10:09

Awww thinking of you @Gsr14. Mine is due sunday and I can feel it coming too . Hopefully next month will be someone's lucky month on this thread Halo take care of yourself xxxx

Nutella0305 · 07/05/2020 10:11

@vil10 why do our bodies try and confuse us its unfair isn't it!!!! Sounds similar to what happened to me Confusedbest of luck next month keep smiling xxx

Gsr14 · 07/05/2020 10:22

@Vil10 I was exactly the same as you, everyday that went past I was trying to not get my hopes up but secretly was thinking it could be my month! Then you get those awful cramps and realise af is definitely on its way! We have each other for next month though 😊

@Nutella0503 exactly! It would be so nice to have someone get their bfp next month, not sure anyone has yet this month!

Still keeping my fingers crossed for everyone who hasn’t had af arrive yet 🤞🏼 Xxxxx

Vil10 · 07/05/2020 10:38

@Nutella0305 it’s so frustrating isn’t it!! At least I’ve had my af now though as I haven’t had one since March!! So hopefully I might be in more of a routine now!

@Gsr14 horrible isn’t it, and then I always say to myself that I’m not going to get my hopes up but still do every single timeHmm yes definitely, we can all keep each other positive next cycle!xx

Vil10 · 07/05/2020 11:29

Well my af has made an appearance, a little bit disappointed but my cycle was all over the place so maybe I was being a bit too hopeful!
What app does everybody use? I have flo and always use my Fitbit app sometimes but I don’t know whether to try another one and compare?xx

Gsr14 · 07/05/2020 12:58

@Vil10 I do the same, tried really hard not to get my hopes up this month but towards the end of your cycle you can’t help but convince yourself that it might just be your month!

I have used a few apps over the years just for tracking my period, ovia, life and flo but have been using Premom since ttc as it tracks and charts your opk tests and bbt.
Have found it really useful because it gives you a calendar and a chart so really simple to see where you are in your cycle. Have attached my chart from this month just gone.

Hey ladies,
Anyone that came off the pill, how long did it take to start bleeding properly, sorry tmi I know but I bled barely at all for like 3 days and only really in the morning and that was only a few days after stopping xx

Vil10 · 07/05/2020 13:29

@Gsr14 ooo Thankyou I’ll have a look at that one!!

Vil10 · 07/05/2020 13:32

@KatieG200394 I came off the pill 31st jan, had my normal withdrawal bleed 4th-9th Feb then my first natural period 13th March, it took a while for my first natural period to come but when it did it was a normal one! Don’t worry though, every woman is different, so I’m sure your body will get back into the swing of things when it’s ready xx

KatieG200394 · 07/05/2020 14:04

@Vil10 thank you, that has definitely put my mind at ease ☺️ I just have no idea what to expect and trying to understand my body again xx

Nutella0305 · 07/05/2020 14:46

@KatieG200394
Fret not , I felt exactly the same . I thought my body would never get back to normal . I got a withdrawal bleed 2 days later and a first period 4 and half weeks later , been averagely regularly since ,hope this helps xxxx all the best

KatieG200394 · 07/05/2020 17:20

@Nutella0305 thank you, it definitely has helped ☺️ it helps to hear that other people have gone through the same thing as me, all the best to you too xx

TTCgee · 07/05/2020 18:04

Hi, hope it's okay to join this thread. This is also my first time TTC and I'm new to MN. the two week wait every month is just awful! Does anyone else completely convince themselves they are every time? 😖😖
