Hi there,
I’m very new to mumsnet and in my first month of trying to conceive.
All the info out there is really overwhelming and just wanted to start a thread for the people in the same boat.

@jessmcg aww no, so sorry. Thanks xxx

jessmcg · 05/05/2020 15:19

@mrsgtobe97 Thank you! I’m weirdly not sad this month. Must be because I feel I’ve got lots of support in this lovely group Smile

Nutella0305 · 05/05/2020 15:19

@jessmcg aww so sorry thinking of you so much I so know that feeling. At least you can concentrate on next month . I'm due af sunday ... x

jessmcg · 05/05/2020 15:58

@Nutella0503 Thank you! Onwards and upwards. In a new month now and going to give it another try Smile

Gsr14 · 05/05/2020 16:19

@jessmcg love your attitude! The positive is that we all get to chat about ovulation and symptoms on here next month, having this thread makes the negative so much more bareable!

I have a feeling af will arrive for me in the next few days, the cramps I’m getting feel very period painy so not get my hopes too high!

@Nutella0305 thanks for replying. I've been using clue and did use the cheap ovulation strips last month around the time clue predicted I'd be ovulating and nothing..was so disheartened I stopped checking ovulation and just DTD every other day (tmi I know lol) I suppose there's nothing else for it but to test throughout this month.

Is it just me or does everyone seem to be pregnant ATM, I hear of someone else I know at least once a week ....maybe I'm just more sensitive as I so wish it was me😟 fingers crossed for next month x

Rayrayj · 05/05/2020 18:26

Hey! Can i join? I've just come off my pill at the start of the month. Feeling excited, impatient and nervous! Also a bit scared of having periods again after so long without, anyone else feel like that at first?
@Aokbaby agreed, it seems like everyone I know is popping out babies right now.

KatieG200394 · 05/05/2020 19:01

@Rayrayj welcome, I'm in exactly the same position as you and also really nervous about having periods again and really hoping it doesn't take long for cycles to go back to normal so we can hopefully pinpoint what's going on and when ovulating etc. Good luck with your ttc journey xx

jbx10 · 05/05/2020 19:01

@Rayrayj I feel the same as you! I came off my pill at the end of April and a bit nervous to see how long it takes for my first proper period. I’m hoping it doesn’t take too long I’m feeling impatient & excited too. But it will all happen when it is meant to happen xxx

Rayrayj · 05/05/2020 19:09

@KatieG200394 @jbx10 it helps to hear that I'm not the only one feeling this way. I guess it's time to be patient and try not to obsess too much over things. Our bodies will do their thing when they're ready!

Aokbaby · 05/05/2020 19:42

Anyone taking pregnacare conception for him and her? x

jbx10 · 05/05/2020 20:06

@aokbaby No but I have been trying to decide whether or not to buy some - are you taking them? I am currently just taking folic acid at the minute but was trying to decide if my fiancé should take any supplements as well xx

@Rayrayj exactly. Its just a weird mix of emotions feeling nervous and trying not to get too excited In case it takes us a long time xx

KatieG200394 · 05/05/2020 20:09

Which prenatal vitamin would anyone recommend taking?
I'm so confused by all the different ones out there xx

Nutella0305 · 05/05/2020 20:31

@aokbaby
@KatieG200394
I am taking pregnacare conception , I buy them from amazon and would reccomend. Although I have only been taking for 2 months I have heard many good reports and also the reviews on amazon on these are good
I've put my husband on well man conception which are supposed to be v good also . Nothing has happened as yet but will keep trying xxx

Aokbaby · 05/05/2020 20:40

@jbx10 hey, yea we've been taking them for 15 days now, you get 30 in a pack. I was just taking folic acid before but these have folic acid, vitamin d and b12 in them as well as a lot of other ingredients. Haven't noticed any real change as of yet but it's probably too early to tell. Since coming off the pill my skin has broken out quite badly especially on back and chest and I've found my hair quite thin, hopefully these vitamins help with whatever is lacking🙈 x

KatieG200394 · 05/05/2020 20:41

@Nutella0503 thank you for your help ☺️ xx

Aokbaby · 05/05/2020 20:42

@Nutella0305 I think I'll continue to take them and I've heard good reports too, fingers crossed it'll be bfp's all round soon 🤗 x

Pol96 · 05/05/2020 20:47

@KatieG200394 @Aokbaby I've been taking pregnacare conception, I usually have quite irregular cycles but since starting these I think they've helped regulate me. Currently CD 20 2dpo.. Last cycle was 43days so I think they've really helped!

KatieG200394 · 05/05/2020 20:53

@Pol96 thank you, I think I'll order some off Amazon, would you recommend anything for OH to take or not to bother? Xx

Pol96 · 05/05/2020 21:05

@KatieG200394 I got the mens one for my oh to take too, I'm also taking some vegan omega 3 (not a vegan but am veggie)

Aokbaby · 05/05/2020 22:11

@Pol96 thanks...how long have you been taking them? x

jessmcg · 05/05/2020 22:25

I’ve been taking pregnacare conception for about a month and my OH has been on the men’s version. Haven’t noticed much of a difference at the moment to be honest, but hoping next month we will have some success! Xx

Aokbaby · 05/05/2020 22:30

Fingers crossed @jessmcg xx

Pol96 · 05/05/2020 22:54

@Aokbaby about 5/6 weeks 🤞 they work!

@jessmcg really hope they work for you too x

Gsr14 · 05/05/2020 22:56

@KatieG200394 I’m not on a specific conception vitamin but have been taking folic acid, vitamin c and d and also omega 3.
My OH is taking vitamin c and zinc too.

I’m going to stay with what I’m doing at the moment and if not luck in the next couple of months will switch to pregnacare as I’ve heard good things :)
