Hi there,
I’m very new to mumsnet and in my first month of trying to conceive.
All the info out there is really overwhelming and just wanted to start a thread for the people in the same boat.

@Gsr14and @jessmcg
How are you both doing? This is really difficult and tricky, I am so glad you are there for each other in this.
Sorry I have been away, skipped testing yesterday, have been crazy fatigued. Even today morning was a very faint line :( although a lot of people believe it is a positive.

jessmcg · 04/05/2020 07:49

@Vee89 crossing my fingers and toes that your faint line gets stronger! Try to stay positive!

Doing ok today, thanks. Slept terribly again last night, felt like there was a balloon being blown up in my abdomen? It was pretty uncomfortable at times - hard to explain. I’m not 100% sure when AF is due, but I talked to my OH last night and we agreed that if it hasn’t arrived by Friday morning, then I’ll test. Until then, if I can possibly handle it, I’m going to hold on, as I just can’t bear the BFN and I’d rather my AF just arrived rather than getting the BFN and then having the dreaded wait for it. If my calculations are right, it should be here by Thursday at the very latest...

@mrsgtobe97 how are you doing?

Gsr14 · 04/05/2020 07:57

@Vee89 I’m in exactly the same boat as @jessmcg right now. My boobs are really sore, I’m having on and off lower back pain and cramps and all round just feel rubbish (still really gassy). Yesterday I was 100% convinced it was af making an appearance but it’s a no show this morning so my mind is working overtime thinking if it could be early pregnancy symptoms. I really don’t want to get my hopes up though so I’m just going to carry on trying to think af is coming so can’t be too disappointed. I should be due on Saturday so going to wait until then and if af hasn’t come then will test.

Really hoping it’s the month for all of us 🤞🏼

@jessmcg yeah okay thanks, got another faint positive line this morning so phoned the doctors and now waiting for them to phone me back so hoping they can shed some light on it! 🤞🏼

jessmcg · 04/05/2020 08:09

@Gsr14 Have everything crossed for you. I wish AF would stop messing us around. If it wants to come, it should just make an appearance rather than leave us to symptom spot!

jessmcg · 04/05/2020 08:56

@mrsgtobe97 🤞🤞🤞 Hoping for some good news for you.

Vil10 · 04/05/2020 10:19

Thankyou for the welcome! It really is! It’s so reassuring reading everyone’s messages, I was starting to think I was being ridiculous for worrying so much! It’s also nice to see that I’m not the only one who symptom spots, I convinced myself last week (day 5 of missed period) that I was pregnant and was so gutted when I wasn’t!
It’s nice to have somewhere to vent when OH probably won’t understand x

mrsgtobe97 · 04/05/2020 10:33

Just off phone to the doctor and she basically said that home tests are usually reliable and said I can get a blood test done to check. She then asked when last I done a test so I said this morning and there’s a faint pink line. She then basically said congrats and ordered me more folic acid? I go in at 8.30am tomorrow morning for one so hopefully know what’s going on after that! Xxx

jessmcg · 04/05/2020 11:01

@mrsgtobe97 this is wonderful news! Huge congrats to you! I’m so so pleased for you xxx

mrsgtobe97 · 04/05/2020 11:02

@jessmcg thank you! I won't believe it until the blood test is positive as I'm just so confused with it all! Xxx

mrskh21 · 04/05/2020 11:28

Hi everyone,

I'd like to join this thread please!
I'm very new to Mumsnet - it's my first time posting on any sort of forum 🙈
I came off the pill in April and yet to have a regular period but using pre pill cycle of 28 days , I should be on this weekend but who knows?!
Hoping some of the baby dust in this thread finds it way to me Smile

jessmcg · 04/05/2020 11:43

@mrskh21 welcome to the thread! We’ve had some really lucky people in here and it’s a great forum for support Smile xx

mrskh21 · 04/05/2020 13:10

Thank you @jessmcg

I have no idea when I'm ovulating etc 🤪 so took the plunge and bought some ovulation sticks. Reading everyone's advice on here has been super helpful

jessmcg · 04/05/2020 13:54

@mrskh21 I use the Clearblue Digital Ov kits and think they’re pretty good! No luck yet for me in terms of getting pregnant, but fingers crossed we will be lucky soon. 🤞

Currently have the WORST bloating ever and can’t even really do up my jeans. 11 DPO I think. This cycle has been very cruel!

Gsr14 · 04/05/2020 14:01

Ok, so I caved and used my test 😩 it was a bfn and now I feel really silly for doing it.
It really hasn’t helped me either way though because I’ve been drinking a lot of water today and it wasn’t the first urine of the morning so still holding on to hope but also having lots of pms symptoms.

This whole process really messes with your head

jessmcg · 04/05/2020 15:04

@Gsr14 nooooo! Isn’t that v early to test?? Don’t let it get you down. You’re not out of the game yet. Xxx

Gsr14 · 04/05/2020 15:11

@jessmcg well I’m 12 dpo and it’s 5 days before my period is due. The test was an early response so don’t think it was too early.
You are right though, not out of the game yet!

jessmcg · 04/05/2020 15:17

@Gsr14 - you’re not out just yet. Have my fingers crossed for you. And if you are, onwards and upwards and we are here for you. I’ve got such severe bloating that AF has to be coming. I’m in agony. Jeans undone and hunching over territory. Xx

KatieG200394 · 04/05/2020 15:49

Hi everyone,

I'd like to join this thread too please ☺️
I'm new to Mumsnet as of today
I recently came off the pill as me and my fiance have decided to start ttc for our 1st baby.

We really have no clue what we're doing, if anyone has any tips for ttc please let me know.
Good luck on your journeys too ☺️ xx

Pol96 · 04/05/2020 16:04

Hi to the new ladies!

@Gsr14 fingers crossed it was just too early to test, 5 days till af is still quite a way!

Think I'm officially in TWW now, positive opk Saturday and temp rise today.. Hoping my temp stays high!

mrsgtobe97 · 04/05/2020 16:20

Think it's a chemical pregnancy for me, clear blue and other tests that are 25miu are bfn and only getting faint lines on 10miu for the last couple weeks so I'm deffo not pregnant. Hopefully docter can give me something once I get my bloods to restart my cycles. Ugh! X

mrskh21 · 04/05/2020 16:41

Thanks @Pol96 :)

Hi @KatieG200394! I'm in the exact same position as you.
We've decided to try for hopefully our first. I'm excited but also terrified. I feel like there is so much I don't know but reading through this thread has been really helpful so far.

I've picked up some clear blue digital ovulation tests from amazon so hopefully can get a move on with TTC this month

JMX10 · 04/05/2020 17:40

Hi ladies, I’d also like to join on this thread please 😊 me and my fiancé are in our first month TTC for our first baby so I’m very new to Mumsnet.

@mrskh21 & @KatieG200394 I’m in the same position as you both! I have just recently come off the pill but not bought any ovulation tests just yet, feeling a little overwhelmed with all the information at the minute to be honest but these threads have been helpful. Xx

Gsr14 · 04/05/2020 18:08

@JMX10 @mrskh21 @Pol96 @KatieG200394 welcome to the thread! (Sorry if I’ve missed anyone off).
It’s so exciting to have more people on the journey, I’m in my second month of trying now and currently waiting it out to see if af comes this weekend! The biggest tip I would give so far is to get some ovulation tests and start getting used to how they work (it look me a while!).

@jessmcg my cramps and sore boobs have been irritating me all day so I know the feeling, at least we’ve got each other to moan to 😂

@mrsgtobe97 try to stay positive until you’ve got all the result back from the doctor and if it is a chemical then we are all here for you :)
