Hi there,
I’m very new to mumsnet and in my first month of trying to conceive.
All the info out there is really overwhelming and just wanted to start a thread for the people in the same boat.

@Gsr14 thank you 😘😘😘

Nic2908 · 25/04/2020 13:07

@mrsgtobe97 congratulations. Do you have a frer? This really is a lucky thread.

Natt99 · 25/04/2020 14:56

Keep us updated @Gsr14 I think with a FRER you'd likely get a faint line at 12, keeping everything crossed for you

Ooh that looks promising @mrsgtobe97 definitely test again tomorrow morning with first wee, they look like the brand I used and took a few days for the line to get darker as the hcg level is higher on those than the FRER's. Fingers crossed for you xx

mrsgtobe97 · 26/04/2020 13:02

Took another this morning and I think I can still see a line 😬🤞🏼

@mrsgtobe97 Keeping all my fingers crossed for you! Try and get an FRER because I think you’ll see a better line. You can get them on amazon for about £7 at the moment

Just took another test now along with an OPK..

@mrsgtobe97 ooh that definitely looks like second lines on both! Tentative congratulations 🥳 when is AF due? X

mrsgtobe97 · 26/04/2020 15:38

@Natt99 thank you!! potentially today I think going by my app, but I'm not certain exactly when I ovulated so not sure 🙈 but that line came up immediately xx

Katbaby · 26/04/2020 16:03

Just catching up on this thread and yayyyyy @mrsgtobe97!!

I'm still testing semi regularly to check it's still real. This is todays test nice and strong. (about 8 tests down now 😂)

How is everyone feeling? Definitely some lucky vibes on this thread long may they continue

Haha @Katbaby I'd be doing exactly the same! That's so exciting, I'm so happy for you! Hopefully baby dust will rub off on the rest of us!

Katbaby · 26/04/2020 16:26

Hope so @1izzie! It's been a lucky thread so far! Where abouts in your cycle are you?

Gsr14 · 26/04/2020 16:42

I’m currently 4 dpo and honestly time could not be going slower 😩

mrsgtobe97 · 26/04/2020 16:58

Thanks guys :) showed DF and he doesn't believe it's positive because it's so faint, so not exactly the reaction I wanted. I think for him to believe it it would need to be as dark as the control line.

1izzie · 26/04/2020 17:13

@Katbaby it seems to be! 🤞 I'm CD15 today, just waiting for that positive OPK. We're still DTD every other day just in case!

jules5232 · 26/04/2020 17:51

@mrsgtobe97 I hope you get that darker line soon so you both can celebrate together! Hes probably just as nervous to get excited too.

Could you ladies tell me if you think the progression pic seems to be getting lighter?? I'm not sure if I missed a surge or it's just not here yet. I have been testing 3x a day but didnt add them all if they were the same color. We've been BDing every other day since CD8 waiting for it but I'm not sure what's up and we're getting a bit tired LOL

@jules5232 I’m no expert but the CD 13 ones look a bit darker than the rest which may mean that your peak was then 🤷🏼‍♀️
I would keep testing but if you don’t get a really dark line then you probably ovulation on CD 14.

@mrsgtobe97 yeah I think he probably just doesn’t want to get prematurely excited! Also he probably hasn’t got as much mumsnet knowledge like the rest of us so doesn’t realise that even the weak line is really good news!

@Gsr14 same here. May 4th it is, 2 different apps of mine (with same data) show different expected period dates, I will wait till the later one to test to spare myself of any unexpected disappointment.
Also, I don't have FRERs as in India the post & deliveries are restricted to the bare minimum. So I am going to test with the local brand whose sensitivity levels I am not sure of.

Gsr14 · 27/04/2020 10:34

@Vee89 I’m sure any test will be fine to be honest! May 4th will be before I’m due on my period so going to use the FRER because it tests early!

Are you managing to stay calm while waiting? I’m trying to push it out of my head but it’s so difficult not to keep looking out for early signs! A week today will will hopefully know 🤞🏼

OP posts:
Vee89 · 27/04/2020 12:14

@Gsr14 yup any of it should be ok from the day of missed AF right, hence I am waiting till 4th.
Calm, ha ha, what is that??!! I am trying to immerse myself in work & ended up working the whole Sunday just so I don't Google symptoms.
I am super nauseated the whole day since last week but don't want to over-think (read hope)

Gsr14 · 27/04/2020 15:16

@Vee89 I would love to have work as a distraction right now but unfortunately there is very little on due to the corona virus situation so instead I’m just cleaning my house over and over again!

I today I started to feel my boobs get the tiniest bit sore but like you I think I might be overthinking it 😩 one week to go!!

OP posts:
jules5232 · 27/04/2020 15:51

Yeah, I agree. They keep getting lighter but I'm going to keep at it in case. Either havent ovulated yet (or maybe wont ovulate this month) or I'm 7DPO 🤦‍♀️. I have to say, though, being unsure helps with the TWW. Ive been preoccupied with trying to catch ovulation instead of symptoms of pregnancy. Hopefully this is our month!

Gsr14 · 27/04/2020 16:02

@jules5232 let’s keep hopeful for all of us trying this month! If you are 7dpo then we will be testing around the same time so fingers crossed 😊

Hope you don't mind me jumping in :)

I've just come off the pill to get ready to start trying. I came off it on the 7th of April and am yet to have a period so waiting for that first before we start TTC. I wanted to ask if anyone else was on the pill before TTC and how long it took for their cycle to come back? I'm tracking my cycle using Glow and apparently I should be ovulating now, but am also monitoring mucus rather than doing ovulation testing at the mo as don't really see the sense in testing until we are ready, just trying to learn at this stage really. So as far as I can tell from mucus I'm not ovulating. From what I've been trying to read about using ovulation sticks it all seems quite complex/confusing, so any advice would be much appreciated :)

Gsr14 · 27/04/2020 16:12

@mintgreenlife I have never been on the pill so can’t help with advice there but have been using the sticks for 6 weeks now and I would really recommend getting some. Last month I didn’t know how to use them and was getting really confusing results but not I’ve learnt how to do it it’s been so helpful this month.
I use the one step tests from amazon and they come with instructions. After my last period I tested twice a day (12pm and 4pm) until the line got darker and then 3 times a day. Found it really easy this month and confident I know when I ovulated. Might be a good idea to get into the habit now before you start trying properly
