Hi there,
I’m very new to mumsnet and in my first month of trying to conceive.
All the info out there is really overwhelming and just wanted to start a thread for the people in the same boat.

@Katbaby I know us too but it's sods law isn't it 😫 my cousins birthday is actually the same as my potential due date (22/12) and we always feel sorry for him as no one ever wants to do anything for his birthday as it's too close to Christmas! Hubby keeps joking that we should give it a Christmas name like Noel or Christina 🤣
Hmmm I think everyone is different with regards to symptoms, I never got sore boobs with PMS so knew it was something different. Also may be too early for you yours to feel sore yet. Back pain and ache seems to be a sign. First few days I found out I had a stitch like feeling, felt like pulling inside

Let us know how the other tests turn out. Feeling really positive for you xx

Katbaby · 19/04/2020 09:33

@Natt99 yep absolutely sods law. Knowing my luck I'll be due 25th 🤣 just call it santa 🤣 yeh I've had a stitch like feeling and couldn't eat all my breakfast this morning got full really quick.

Have you done any more tests since the first lot? Feel like I'm gonna end up testing daily 🤣 I will keep you updated. Im feeling good today too xx

Natt99 · 19/04/2020 10:06

@Katbaby haha Santa!! 🎅🏻
Ooh stitch is a good sign!
Yes been testing every day with the cheap tests, today and yesterday the line was as dark as control so will probably stop now 😊

Katbaby · 19/04/2020 10:18

@Natt99 I don't quite want to believe it yet, hubby said this morning don't get your hopes up 😕 don't think he wants to let himself get excited in case it goes wrong. Hopefully will get a darker line tomorrow and then we can get excited. How many days has it been from initial faint one to dark as control line test for you?

Nic2908 · 19/04/2020 13:31

@Katbaby men are always the voice of reason!! Haha. It will be lovely to see your test line get stronger. Have everything crossed for you. I'm feeling good, fee aches and pains, sore boobs and I am burping alot!!!

How is everyone else feeling on here?? Sending you all lots of baby feelings for your next cycle.

Natt99 · 19/04/2020 13:47

@Katbaby aww that's probably sensible of your hubby but it's hard to stick to it.We're trying not too until the first scan but it's hard not to get excited and talk about all your plans. First took the test Weds and it was dark as control line on Saturday so 4 days to reach that point. Attached pic - sorry I threw today's in the bin but it's the same as last dark one.
How funny @Nic2908 I've been constantly burping too, who knew it was a symptom?!

@Nic2908 @Natt99 thanks ladies 😊 will update you with hopefully a super dark positive in the morning. I'm waiting for sore boobs to kick in. They feel fine at the moment just a little bit fuller. Doesn't take much tho as I've only got small boobs to begin with haha.

@Natt99 when is your scan?

Also open question to anyone, when do I get in touch with the doc? Do I do it as soon as I get a darker positive?

Natt99 · 19/04/2020 14:13

@Katbaby got everything crossed for you! Haha re boobs!
Sorry haven't got scan booked yet, just know you get one at 12 weeks. Going to call the doctors tomorrow to let them know, thought I'd give it a few days.
Might also get a private one done in a few days just to make sure everything's ok, had a look and you can get one for £79 which isn't too bad.
Looking forward to hearing your update tomorrow x

Katbaby · 19/04/2020 14:26

@Natt99 thanks me too. Oh really I never would have thought of paying for private! Don't blame you though.

Oh god I know I hope it's a good update and not a sad one 😬

Nic2908 · 19/04/2020 22:39

@Natt99 I'm planning on getting a private early scan done too, just for piece of mind I think. @Gsr14 how are you??

Katbaby · 20/04/2020 07:05

Morning girls!

Hearts beating so hard right now, but guess the lines can't be wrong??

Natt99 · 20/04/2020 07:54

Me too @Katbaby like someone said this is such a lucky thread! I'm hoping it rubs off on everyone else and they get their BFP's super quick xx maybe I'll make a Christmas baby #1 thread in the pregnancy section and can then tag you and Nic, can still support everyone on here of course x

Katbaby · 20/04/2020 08:04

Aww yeah do that that would be lovely 😊😊 @Natt99 would be lovely to keep up with you both throughout this xx

Gsr14 · 20/04/2020 09:00

@Nic2908 still plodding along with the OPK tests and tracking my BBT.

No sign of ovulation yet but only on CD 11 so fingers crossed will start seeing some signs in a next few days!

I’m so happy for you all @Nic2908 @Natt99 @Katbaby 😊😊😊 this really is a lucky thread! Never thought when originally posting there would be so many lovely people getting involved and also 3 FIRST TIMERS!!

Hoping the luck rubs off on me this round!

Nic2908 · 20/04/2020 10:19

@Katbaby!! Whoooo. I bet that feels like the longest three days in the entire world doent it, it was all worth it though.

Fingers crossed that we all have smooth straight forward pregnancies.

@Gsr14 your time is coming for that +ve opk. Lots of BD!!

Katbaby · 20/04/2020 11:06

Haha yes @Nic2908 honestly can't believe the first test was only Friday! I'm shattered with it all haha and it's literally spanned 4 days. Now I'm expected to wait 6 weeks for my booking in? Oh god I'm not a patient person haha.
Did you manage to set up a thread @Natt99?

NJ2910 · 20/04/2020 11:07

@Katbaby oh my gosh congratulations! Wonderful news 😊😊 lots of little Christmas babies, how lovely xxx

jules5232 · 20/04/2020 16:52

For those of you who are also new to OPK testing, have you noticed about how long it takes for a semi dark line to get to positive? Mine progressed to not-quite-dark enough but I'm wondering about how long it normally stays that way until the tipping point? (Yesterdays test pictured)

Gsr14 · 20/04/2020 17:13

@jules5232 last month mine were just like yours for about a week until I got a darker line. Keep testing 3 times a day until you get that dark line so you don’t miss it!

Katbaby · 20/04/2020 17:53

Thank you @NJ2910! Keeping my fingers crossed for everyone else on here waiting for bfps!

Xxx

jules5232 · 20/04/2020 18:27

@Gsr14 perfect, thanks for the suggestion! I'll bump it up to 3 times a day and see how it moves along. Also, congrats to all the positives! How fun to have it happen so quickly!!

Nic2908 · 20/04/2020 19:54

@jules5232 and get baby dancing as your peak cant be that too far away!!
