Hi everyone who read this! My typical cycle is 34-37 days long but everyone I talk to seems to have shorter cycles. I'm looking for others like myself who have long cycles and are ttc :) we are trying for our first baby x

@Pol96 oooh congrats sounds amazing! What job role is it? Depends if you want to be a stay at home mama or be career focused :)

Pol96 · 08/06/2020 22:02

@xoJellyBean it would be for a manager role. I don't know what to do, I don't think they'd be happy to find out I'm pregnant (from a work perspective, they'll be thrilled from a personal one) so I'm just a bit stuck with what to do..

xoJellyBean · 08/06/2020 22:08

@Pol96 how long have you got before who I decide?

OP posts:
xoJellyBean · 08/06/2020 22:09

Sorry, before you decide* lol

@xoJellyBean closing date is end of the month but they said they might close earlier..

Fujexa · 09/06/2020 06:43

If you plan on continuing your career after starting a family then I think you should definitely apply @Pol96!
Having a family shouldn't be a barrier to women's success. And your bosses obviously think you deserve to progress, so definitely don't feel guilty if you do.
Maternity leave is only a few months break out of a potentially very long time you could spend with your company if they treat you well, and if they're smart they know that already.

A total aside - and a total generalisation! - I think if men were capable of having babies themselves they would still ruthlessly pursue career success. I don't think it would even occur to a lot of them to feel guilty Grin

Newbie0818 · 09/06/2020 07:58

@Pol96 ah! That's awesome. Like fujexa said they obviously believe you deserve it! You're still really early in your pregnancy you could always apply and then say you didn't realise you were pregnant. Mat leave is only temporary. Yay!

Newbie0818 · 09/06/2020 07:58

Also, I'm very excited as I finally got a cover line! 😂

hollywhooo · 09/06/2020 08:48

@Pol96 you should definitely go for it!!!!!
My job is a secondment but its just come up permanent in another location - i’m going to apply and if i’m lucky enough to get it/fall pregnant i wont feel bad at all - i’ve worked hard to get to where i am!!!! Go for it xx

SarahTTC2020 · 09/06/2020 10:11

@Pol96 yes definitely apply! A man wouldn't think twice. They can always put someone on secondment to cover your mat leave

Pol96 · 09/06/2020 10:25

Thank you all for your advice, will talk to them and see what they say as there's already one on mat leave when we go back and would be 20 weeks pregnant by the time I go back too 😬
I need to work out if I really want the job I think.

@Newbie0818 yay for coverline!

SarahTTC2020 · 09/06/2020 13:58

Ah AF just made an appearance... On the plus side (trying to stay positive) I was only cd41 so that's 4 days shorter than last time!

xoJellyBean · 09/06/2020 14:23

Aww @SarahTTC2020 sorry to hear about af but yay for shorter cycle!! 🤩

OP posts:
Pol96 · 09/06/2020 14:26

@SarahTTC2020 sorry about af, but like you and jellybean said.. Yay for a shorter cycle! Good luck for your next cycle

SarahTTC2020 · 09/06/2020 14:56

Yes thank you both! Got to take the positives!

Darcy86 · 09/06/2020 17:25

Little late to this but @Pol96 I would have to agree with everything @Fujexa said, go for it! If you want it, of course. And congrats, that's awesome!

I'm just about to download Fertility Friend and begin my obsessive BBT charting :) nothing else interesting to add from me, still about a week until AF is due, possibly some very minor symptoms but they could easily also be nothing/start of PMS so trying not to overthink it.

Sorry to those who've seen AF arrive, onwards to the next cycle, fingers crossed for all xx

Newbie0818 · 09/06/2020 17:31

@SarahTTC2020 sorry about af :( but that's really good your cycle was shorter! Onwards and upwards for the next one x

@Darcy86 really hope af stays away for you!

@Pol96 keep us posted with what you decide to do! I'm so not career driven so have a lot of respect for women who are 🙈

Pol96 · 09/06/2020 20:55

Well I hadn't really decided anything but the jobs been offered to someone else already.. Oh well! I've got more important things to worry about than running an entire setting! Plus my baby brains already bad (forgot to reply to them about applying 😅) I'm quite relieved tbh as it's a very stressful job.

Newbie0818 · 09/06/2020 21:10

@Pol96 oh no! Sorry! That happened very quickly my goodness. There'll be other opportunities but like you said, you've got a very exciting journey ahead x

xoJellyBean · 09/06/2020 22:33

@Pol96 you'll not be needing the extra stress right now anyway :)

OP posts:
Pol96 · 10/06/2020 10:44

@xoJellyBean no definetly do not need the stress right now, super stressed already as I don't feel pregnant, I've been up since 3:30 am because of stressing. I thought the TWW was bad enough!

@Newbie0818 yep a much more exciting journey!

How are all you 2 week waiters getting on? X

Newbie0818 · 10/06/2020 12:50

@Pol96 just trying to keep busy, which is fine because work is manic. Also had a big temp rise this morning, though I wonder if it's because I freaked out and turned over just before I took it 😂

xoJellyBean · 10/06/2020 15:28

@Pol96 aww no, sorry to here you're stressing!! All will be ok though :) I am 7dpo now and my temp is still on the rise 🤞🏻 I'm very forgetful and making silly mistakes in work 😂 my period is supposedly due on Sunday/Monday so when should my temp drop? X

OP posts:
Pol96 · 10/06/2020 16:24

@xoJellyBean when I was temping before my bfp it dropped a bit the day before af then a lot after I'd started. Can't believe you're already 7dpo! (that's when I started testing FYI 😅) x

@Newbie0818 turning over won't make a huge difference so don't worry! Good your temp is still going up! X

Newbie0818 · 10/06/2020 16:34

@Pol96 I'm hoping it stays up. Having af cramps though 😨 hope you can get a better nights sleep tonight.

@xoJellyBean oooh you could be implanting any day!
