Hi everyone who read this! My typical cycle is 34-37 days long but everyone I talk to seems to have shorter cycles. I'm looking for others like myself who have long cycles and are ttc :) we are trying for our first baby x

@suki2020. Tonight might be the best anyway, his swimmers are supposed to be there ready and waiting but if you can do today and tomorrow even better haha. I wouldn’t worry about doing it enough it sounds like now is your time. Fingers crossed for you. I had another relatively normal cycle this month of 32 still going to go in for blood tests on cd21 and see if there is anything wrong etc x

Suki2020 · 09/05/2020 16:35

@runnergirl1 that’s good that your cycle was 32days. Good to get it checked just to put your mind at ease if nothing else.

Runnergirl1 · 09/05/2020 16:47

@suki2020. That’s it my cycles have always been horrendous and I didn’t get anything near high In My OPKs last cycle so hopefully I do this time and with the tests, then hopefully I can chill out abit lol

Newbie0818 · 09/05/2020 18:40

@Jaydaebee so sorry to hear about your MC, sending hugs x

@theruffles that is so reassuring! I really do wonder if I have PCOS now, or if I’m just worrying myself by googling symptoms.

Af arrived for me today, so my cycle was 52 days long. It’s still very light though and just brown so far, so I think my body is adjusting to af mode after all this time.

theruffles · 09/05/2020 19:31

@fifi1989 I had blood tests on a specific day of my period and also a few ultrasounds and internal scans. I had a HSG (dye test) to check if there were any blockages in my Fallopian tubes and then a hysteroscopy (sorry if this is misspelled!). The latter looks if there's anything present in your uterus which might be preventing pregnancy (cysts, etc) which they would have removed then if it was present. It was oddly interesting Blush because the doctor had it up on a screen so she could see what they were dealing with - how often will you get to see inside your uterus?! I didn't have anything present and no cysts like you can get with PCOS. I think my issue is a hormonal imbalance and potentially not ovulating.

Newbie0818 · 10/05/2020 09:22

Ladies, is it possible to only get af for a few hours? Has this happened to anyone?

Suki2020 · 10/05/2020 09:41

@newbie0818 where are you in your cycle? Could it be implantation bleeding?

Newbie0818 · 10/05/2020 09:53

@suki2020 I think I may be 9dpo today if I assume I ov’d after my positive opk’s on the 28/29th. I don’t actually know what IB looks like so it’s difficult to know :/ I usually get really awful cramps when af starts but haven’t had any since Thursday.

Tmi alert: I had some light pink blood when wiping after DTD on Friday morning, then two random splashes of red blood in my knickers yesterday morning so I put a pad on. When I went to change it a couple hours later there was just a tiny amount of dark brown blood and have had nothing since?

hollywhooo · 10/05/2020 10:18

@Newbie0818 no advice but this sounds exactly the same as what i’ve had the last couple of days!

Newbie0818 · 10/05/2020 10:28

@hollywhooo do you know where in your cycle you are?

hollywhooo · 10/05/2020 10:56

@Newbie0818 i’m on cycle day 87 today 🙄 so i have completely lost track

Suki2020 · 10/05/2020 11:36

@Newbie0818 it sounds like it could be implantation bleeding so what a few more days and see what happens, it should stop after a few hrs to a day if it’s implantation bleeding. Did you get a temp rise after you ovulated?

Newbie0818 · 10/05/2020 12:50

@hollywhooo wow that is frustrating for you. Sorry it’s going on so long 😕

@Suki2020 I don’t temp but I’m now fairly certain it’s just a light af.

Newbie0818 · 10/05/2020 13:45

@Suki2020 your comment got me thinking that temping is something I should try for clarity.

Could you please explain to me how it works? Like how to do it, and is there a free charting tool? Any recommended thermometers? Thanks x

Pol96 · 10/05/2020 15:07

Hey @Newbie0818 just jumping in with the temping.. You get a basal body thermometer (I have a femometer from amazon) you take your temp around the same time every morning before getting up, drinking, talking etc and put the temp in to an app.. There's quite I few, I'm using femometer (but also put the data in to fertility friend and flo..) the apps are free to a certain extent.. You can pay for premium but the temp charting is free and will pick up ovulation. Your temp will rise after ovulation and stay high until af or if you get pregnant..

xoJellyBean · 10/05/2020 15:45

Do yous think that temping is the key? I'm just worried about stressing myself out 'trying' and getting more upset lol it's my birthday today & I just want a wee baby so badly now😭

Pol96 · 10/05/2020 15:53

@xoJellyBean I find that temping (although a bit tedious) at least confirms ovulation for me.. Which is helpful when I don't know how long a cycle will be. I get what you mean about stressing though..
I'm Only 7dpo and already counting myself out this month..

Happy birthday! Try and enjoy it! Hope you have a lovely day Flowers

Suki2020 · 10/05/2020 16:05

@Newbie0818 same as @pol96 said really. I also use Femometer app and fertility friend. I find it helps me know that I’ve ovulated with my temp staying up higher. I brought my 2 digit thermometer from eBay for about £9.

Newbie0818 · 10/05/2020 16:10

Thanks so much @pol96 ! I have Flo, but didn’t realise I could log temps in that. So it will create a chart for me? And do I have to set an alarm for taking the temp? I was thinking of getting a femometer as it’s on offer on Amazon right now x

@xoJellyBean I’m just wanting to temp as although I get positive opk’s I’m not sure I’m actually ovulating after, so hopefully the chart will give me some clarity.
I know how you feel with wanting a bub 😕 but try and enjoy the rest of your birthday xx

Pol96 · 10/05/2020 16:21

@Newbie0818 yes it will make a chart (will attempt attaching mine to this post..) you can add bbt to flo by going to the + scroll down and add parameters. I think you can set reminders for temping too..
Once it detects ovulation the red line appears and it also has signs and symptoms underneath the chart

Newbie0818 · 10/05/2020 16:22

@Suki2020 thank you. I’ll give it a go. Just need to understand how and when to take my temp so that it’s accurate x

Newbie0818 · 10/05/2020 16:22

@pol96 fab, thank you!

Pol96 · 10/05/2020 16:23

Meant blue line.. Not red.. Its red on ff 😂

Pol96 · 10/05/2020 16:23

@Newbie0818 you're welcome x

wannabe123 · 10/05/2020 16:25

I've only just started doing OPKs this cycle. Looking at other people's they seem to only have high readings around ovulation time. Mine seem to be doing this... Anybody had anything similar? Am I doing anything wrong?
