Luckily my OHs mum is only 46 so we have her around for a while 😂 but she doesn't have a partner and probably never will. And OHs dad is in Brazil (hasn't spoke to him in 16 years). I think I'm just putting a lot of pressure on myself/my parents to be around for ever 🤦🏼‍♀️🤦🏼‍♀️

Mumofboys17 · 31/03/2020 08:13

@myhappystreak lol yeah I thought that too! 🙈 oh well at least me AND DH are taking vitamins now. If anything else can't hurt to take a decent multivitamin right now! X

@Beau20 I used to be the opposite lol periods were non existent on the pill but since coming off and having DS is literally like the Red Sea down there 😂😂
In all seriousness, you're not being pathetic. With everything going on right now it makes us all feel vulnerable. When we stood outside to clap for the NHS last week I actually shed a tear! When I FaceTime my family it hurts, I'm very close to my family as it's quite small and it's torture not being able to see them and hug them (we're BIG huggers! 😂)
Be kind to yourself ❤️

@Mumofboys17 I think that's what it is! This whole corona thing has made me an emotional wreck thinking about potentially losing any of my family. I see other people work babies/pregnant and I'm like wow, you really really have no idea how lucky you are. Especially the complaining ones

Missgoldilocks · 31/03/2020 09:45

@Beau20 @Mumofboys17 yeah I don't think it's selfish either I've just seen a few snarky comments and thought 🙄 what's wrong with trying for a baby?? Jheez
I've heard of those vitamins changing your cycle so you might have a shorter or longer cycle BTW x
@Beau20 awww bless you, 🤗🤗 I understand its normal to feel like that I think. Its an emotional time right now along with Ttc and its explosive! I've wanted to cry for the past 3 days lol but just because I want a bloody baby and it's happening!

Beau20 · 31/03/2020 10:01

@Missgoldilocks I know me too..I'm like what makes people think we aren't entitled to a family just because of this. Christ...

I have no OPKs left and I really don't want to buy any. I said I would track and so far I'm only tracking temp. Hopefully get the results from my bloods I had done yesterday. Part of me WANT them to come back and say I have a thyroid issue. It would explain EVERYTHING except I have zero symptoms other than low progesterone and LP defect... how bad am I for even saying that!! Of course I don't actually want anything to be wrong because fertility treatments are on hold anyway.

Beau20 · 31/03/2020 10:12

@Missgoldilocks In all fairness I did tell one woman she'd be mad for trying now if she wasn't financially stable and could wait. Anyone wanting to start that's young and has no issues should wait. The older ones and ones who've been trying for a while I think should carry on

Missgoldilocks · 31/03/2020 12:58

@Beau20 yeah bit it's the need to understand why it's taking long isn't it? I'm like I just need to know what is happening and then I feel like I could calm down but the not knowing if there's something wrong or not is getting me down. If there's a reason you'll be like okay that makes sense, I can get some medication and hopefully get somewhere then!
Yeah financially right now is crazy for some people so for sure they need to take that into consideration but I'm pretty sure (hopefully) this would have passed in 9 months...

Fredthespider · 31/03/2020 13:03

@Beau20 I had my thyroid checked years ago and quickly discovered that there is what the NHS consider acceptable levels, and then there is optimal levels of TSH. My local trust consider anything below 4.2 to be ok, however you really want to be below 2 for your thyroid to be working optimally. I went as far as speaking to a private endocrinologist consultant who was lovely and said that if I was TTC he would have put me on medication, but since I wasn't at the time mine wasn't bad enough for him to treat (I think it was 3.5 ish).

Also thank you @Snowwhite2020 and @Danni2019 :) How are you getting on Snow? I think we might be due around the same time?

Snowwhite2020 · 31/03/2020 13:31

@fredthespider 👋 I’ve been feeling pretty well and all good so far so fingers crossed everything is good with the pregnancy. How have you been? Xx

Snowwhite2020 · 31/03/2020 13:31

Due end of November :) what about you?

Fredthespider · 31/03/2020 14:35

@Snowwhite2020 Same I think! I'm hoping to go for a scan in a couple of weeks which should help firm up the dates. Have you joined the Nov group? www.mumsnet.com/Talk/pregnancy/3866133-November-2020-Babies-Thread-3 there is also a spin off facebook group.

Snowwhite2020 · 31/03/2020 14:53

Aw thanks I hadn’t seen that- I’ll join but will be checking back in here to see how the original group is getting on- sure there will be more BFPs coming this way soon... xx

LV1987 · 31/03/2020 21:20

@missgoldilocks I'm wiped out again today! My eldest step son is 8, and he's really keen to get on with stuff, but supervising that while working full time and looking after the youngest... Dad is at home during the day, but they will still ask me for snacks, help, bum wiping etc. The 4 year old streaked behind my video call with my supporting paralegal yesterday 😳 it's so full on that I regularly wonder if we are mad for trying to add another monster to the brood, but never, ever would I think it is selfish. I love my boys (even if I'm not their biological mummy) and I will not miss out on giving them a sibling because of this. I just hope that he or she isn't a nudist like big brother 😂😂

LV1987 · 31/03/2020 21:45

In other news, I feel periody and my RHR has started to drop - which would make sense if I ovulated during the first of the two weeks that I thought I might have. However, I often feel periody when I am about to ovulate too which would suck as there's no way I'm up for the D tonight 😂

Katie1109 · 01/04/2020 07:20

Morning ladies? x how is everyone? Have we still got any testers left or are we all into next cycle? x
@Fredthespider how are you feeling? Has it sunk in? x
I’m CD3 today so probably last af day x we are now both on conception vitamins - pregnacare and wellman x I read the wellman is pretty good for men x I will continue with opks this cycle too x I must admit I was so much better this month when af arrived, I think I am past the disappointment phase and onto what will be will be, both everyone in the world has to be a parent x hope everyone is keeping safe and well x

Beau20 · 01/04/2020 08:52

@LV1987 oh my that is amazing!!!! I am totally loving all the video conference disasters at the moment! I was on a call with my boss, a few others and the director of our division. He must be in his early 60s but he has young kids. Anyway, at the of the the call I said to my boss, did NO-ONE notice the ginormous unicorn he had sat right behind him..??? It was like one of those life sized ones - IN HIS OFFICE.

@Katie1109 glad you are feeling positive! I am the same, I expect AF every month so no disappointment. But I have been feeling veryyy down the past few days about it all, I think corona has made it worse because deep down I;m like yeahhh it's really reaallly not a good idea for us to have a baby right now. I still would take one any day - pandemic/war throw it at me! I just want a baby!

Katie1109 · 01/04/2020 09:13

@Beau20 yeah I get you hun x all this corona has put a downer on a lot of things, but I am certainly not going to stop TTC. I want a baby and I am not going to stop and let's face it, after trying 10 months I don't think getting pregnant now is a given anyway, so no point dwelling on it x
I am considering preseed. Anyone used it and can advise? Is it worth it?

Missgoldilocks · 01/04/2020 09:27

@katie1109 @Beau20 I'm not stopping. My doc said its fine if you're early on but you wouldn't want to be 9 months pregnant right about now lol.
I'm 11dpo today and had a drop in temperature 🤷‍♀️ whatever af will come on Saturday for me

Missgoldilocks · 01/04/2020 09:40

Oh and looking back on my charts looks like I always get a temp dip at 11dpo anyway haha sooo I was right af will come! I really want to do a pregnancy test because inside I'm like hoping it will miraculously be a bfp 🤣 but it won't and I'll probably cry soooo ☹️

Beau20 · 01/04/2020 09:58

@Katie1109 nope I'm absolutely not stopping just not doing OPKs, I'm only temping this cycle just because I want to compare this to last. So basically no timing anything, if it's meant to be it will be!

@Missgoldilocks temp drops are really common even in pregnancy in TWW so don't count yourself out yet!! I would only say you are out if they keep dropping over the next few days and go to pre-OV temp.

Fredthespider · 01/04/2020 13:10

@Katie1109 thanks for asking after me! I'm doing ok, a little anxious but trying to stay positive and remember that there isn't anything I can do about it. If something goes wrong then it'll go wrong regardless. I can theoretically go and get a scan now, but we're going to wait another 2 weeks if I can manage it. They're making people have scans alone and I don't think I could cope with bad news without OH there with me. They might lift that in a couple weeks or I'd at least feel a little more confident if I've not had any bleeding.

We've used pre-seed btw. My advice is use sparingly. I think they say something like most people go up to number 3 (if you have the applicators to measure it yourself). Whenever I did that it was like a slip and slide and OH found it difficult to get enough friction to make it pleasurable.

With number 1 we did the whole shebang. Pregnacare vitamins, Clearblue OPKs, pre-seed, making sure I sorted my quiche out and lying with bum on a pillow for 10 mins after. It worked first time around then. This time around I didn't use vitamins until January, and since then I've caught twice so I think they're quite important for me, hopefully they'll help you too x

Mumofboys17 · 01/04/2020 13:55

@Katie1109 we're using the same vitamins this cycle! I was actually thinking the other day when we conceived DS I'm CERTAIN DH was taking the wellman ones last time, trying not to get my hopes up again haha but if anything a good multivitamin is probably a good idea with everyone getting ill anyway!
We use preseed, I only use it around FW as tbh it mostly helps with fanny burn 😂 but we used it when we conceived first time too so 🤷🏼‍♀️ why not! Like @Fredthespider said though, don't go mad else it's literally like a big slippery mess😂😂 xx

LV1987 · 01/04/2020 14:26

Hi all, taking a quick breather from pesky clients who still want everything done yesterday despite everything else that's going on in the world.

@Beau20 I think the director of your division has a similar set up to me - unused home office became a play room and now needs to be a home office again!

I've had the streaking child in here colouring while I work today which has been nice. His big brother did some research on Australia this morning, and gave me a little presentation on the most venomous snake in the world. All very interesting 😂🐍 Little One is now sleeping off a bad mood - the adjustment of not being able to go out is much harder for him as he doesn't really understand it.

Feeling really periody again today, got a crampy bum and that tell tale heavy feeling. Cervix seemed quite high this morning though, but tbh, I'm still not sure what I'm feeling for lol.

Hope you're all enjoying another day of incarceration!

Beau20 · 01/04/2020 15:15

@Fredthespider ohhh my god slip and slide hahahahaahaaaa!! Also, am I missing something - sorted your quiche out?

I'm going to order some pre-seed too girls! My OH doesn't take any vitamins and I know he wont. I'm sure I've mentioned it before bit I had to empty out a thrush pill in his tea before on the sly because he would not take it!

Katie1109 · 01/04/2020 15:52

@Fredthespider glad you're doing ok x and thanks for the advice on preseed x I have ordered it now, so we'll give it a go this cycle x
@Mumofboys17 yeah I decided on wellman for him because it had good reviews and pregnacare for me x I've read somewhere that these vitamins are recommended by doctors when TTC so let's see x fingers crossed x
