Starting this thread for anyone TTC after a miscarriage. My MC was in December and I’ve had no joy since, but these threads have been wonderful for being amongst lovely people going through the same thing.

As always, sorry to anyone who finds themselves here and fingers crossed we all get our rainbows soon 🌈

@Mommybear05 oh it sounds like you are keeping positive and counting your blessings which will always make you feel better. I've been in a bit of a slump the last week since I had my SMM but picking myself up now trying to focus on what I have rather than what I don't have.

I am a key worker so back into the office next week but staying away from my own grandparents is probably the hardest thing, I have one from each side left both in their late 80s and I hate the thought of being there alone but also lucky we have so much technology to stay in touch 🙌🏾

SmileyT · 27/03/2020 15:55

@dinosaur17 I have just downloaded the Femometer app (looks the same as yours) and I'm equally confused, my understanding is that you need to wait for a peak rather than a high but I'm new to this so I could be wrong x

dinosaur17 · 27/03/2020 16:16

@SmileyT

Yes that’s what I’m using as well. I’d expected a peak at CD 10/11 as it looked as though it was increasing then dropped?

My only thought was as I’ve had some other symptoms of Ov that it may be that my “peak” isn’t very high as my levels have now dropped very low.

Who knows! Best of luck using the app x

SmileyT · 27/03/2020 17:14

@dinosaur17 oh yeah that would make sense, I did read that if you have a lower LH surge the tests may not pick it up as a peak. I guess it's just a case of DTD as much as possible and hoping for the best if it doesn't show a peak this month. Hoping somebody with more experience has a better answer for you 😊

Re6ecc4 · 27/03/2020 18:49

@SmileyT we do bd every day pretty much?

Snapper81 · 27/03/2020 18:57

So after getting a static smiley thos morning, I can really feel sharp pains every now and then on my right side (uterus area). It was exactly the same when i was looking out for ovulation signs last time round. I'm amazed that I've never noticed this before ttc! It's so obvious but I never even thought about understanding my cycle...I just got annoyed at AF each month. I'm really amazed by how extraordinary womens' bodies are!

Ejb86 · 27/03/2020 20:13

@dinosaur17 based on those OPKs I'd say you haven't peaked yet. I've attached my tests this month so you can see what mine were like. Mine peaked yesterday, so should have ovulated today.

@Mommybear05 I'm still breastfeeding. He's 2yrs and 3 months and showing no signs of stopping. He did almost wean when I was pregnant with the twins but when I lost them my milk came back in so he ramped it back up.

@TerribleImagination where are you in your cycle? When's AF due? I'm on CD18, so ovulated 2 days earlier this month! Whoop whoop, here's to a longer LP! TWW here I come x

Ejb86 · 27/03/2020 20:14

Forgot to attach x

Leok83 · 27/03/2020 20:59

@Annny27 sorry ur back here again in April. Hopefully if you do decide to keep TTC this will be ur month!

It’s so hard to know what to do with Coronavirus. I’m 37 in May and TTC my 1st so I just don’t feel like I’ve the option to take time out from TTC as also would like to have more than 1 baby if I can. Unfortunately I don’t have the option of staying at home and myself and DH will be high enough risk of contracting it so just have to hope if we do it’ll be mild. So we’re going to risk it and we’re still gonna keep trying.

@dinosaur17 it does look like you may be just getting fluctuating levels rather than an actual peak. However whenever I ovulate I never actually get a peak on the apps/cheap opks..only on CB smileys but I BBT so I know when I’ve ovulated then. BBT can be helpful for that as first month I did without BBT I was worried I didn’t actually ovulate!

SmileyT · 27/03/2020 21:17

@Re6ecc4 okay good to know was worrying I would be at risk of ruining the quality of swimmers or something 🤦🏾‍♀️

TerribleImagination · 27/03/2020 23:54

@Ejb86 I’m CD18 too!! We really are synced!! I ovulated on day 13, so AF should be due the 4th April... Crossing everything it doesn’t arrive!! How about you?

Ejb86 · 28/03/2020 07:07

@TerribleImagination if I have a 27 day cycle again, I'm due on 6th. Not a chance I'll hold out that long though Grin

Re6ecc4 · 28/03/2020 08:16

@SmileyT unless your partner has a low sperm count it's perfectly fine to have sex whenever and however much you want!

Re6ecc4 · 28/03/2020 08:18

@Ejb86 @TerribleImagination I'm also due my period on 4th April, but I'm on CD23. I'm itching to test already but waiting to see what pms brings.

Re6ecc4 · 28/03/2020 08:20

Also open question: when I got pregnant the first time I had no AF symptoms, and no pregnancy symptoms until after I missed my period. I was absolutely feeling nothing until the day after my period and then bam sore boobs, cramps etc. The only symptom I got before I wouldnt class as PMS and that was nausea. Anyone else get this? Also, do your symptoms stay the same from one pregnancy to the next??

SmileyT · 28/03/2020 09:02

@Re6ecc4 Thanks my partner will be very happy to hear this, i told him yesterday we might have to take a few days off and he was not impressed 😂

I think that every pregnancy can be different with mine I was exhausted and boobs started to grow, if I hadn't been tracking my period I probably would've thought it was just AF about to show because I'm generally knackered after 15hr days.

dinosaur17 · 28/03/2020 09:13

@SmileyT Keeping my fingers crossed! I’ll keep tracking, just hope I’ve not missed the peak really early on in my cycle, or maybe haven’t ovulated this cult or at all.

@Ejb86 @Leok83Smile Thank you! Really useful to see other people’s charts. Still totally confused if I’ve missed it or will just ovulate super late? I’m CD13 today and my cycle is usually 23/24 days.

TerribleImagination · 28/03/2020 09:49

@Ejb86 @Re6ecc4 Hey cycle buddies! 👋🏻

I’ll deffo be holding off testing until the 5th, if AF doesn’t show 🤞🏻

Ejb86 · 28/03/2020 11:25

@Re6ecc4 my first pregnancy my key symptom was the metallic taste in my mouth.

With my second pregnancy (twins) I didn't really have any symptoms prior to testing other than AF being a no show.

Mommybear05 · 28/03/2020 12:28

@Ejb86 I’m very sorry for your loss. That must have been devastating. I did hear that conceiving twins is more likely when you breastfeed. I did give it a go weaning at twelve months pp but I literally cried and was so upset so I knew it wasn’t time for us to stop. My milk also started to dry around my mc at 9 weeks and now it’s back to normal. Also all this covid stuff is giving us lots of lovely time together to enjoy the milk but I dread to think the impact it’s having on my cycle 🙈. I had ppaf when he night weaned at 13 months and then got pregnant straight away. Unfortunately the loss so now I’m around 16 months pp and I’ve had one period, a miscarriage bleed and now just waiting to see. Have no idea at all what to expect this cycle! I’ve started on those OPKs for the first time and just got a negative on cd15.

@SmileyT yes it’s horrible not seeing relatives. My dad is a key worker in a hospital so I’m worried about that. But husband isn’t. He’s getting more jobs to do from me in the house than he ever would at work haha. I’m a key worker too as I teach but there’s barely any children in and I’ve been told I only need to go in one day over the next three weeks, although this will probably increase as people start to get ill. Speaking to my children every day online and setting them work though.

Fizzl · 28/03/2020 14:41

Hi @Re6ecc4 not sure if this answers your question but when I was pregnant I don't recall having any symptoms at all. I did a pregnancy test and just put it on the side whilst I had a shower really not expecting to see anything! Oh to be that chilled again now. I didn't really have any symptoms all the way through to finding out we had a MMC and always wondered if this was a sign that something wasn't right 🤷🏼‍♀️ but apparently not as I have friends who also had no symptoms and very healthy pregnancies/babies.

Does anyone else have a short luteal phase? Just looking back over my charts and since my miscarriage it seems to have been 10-11days and now I'm worried this is a bit on the short side? I've looked back over old charts from last year and it seemed to vary a little but usually it was around 12 days. I've read mixed things, some saying 10 is the short end of normal but should be ok, others suggesting it should be at least 12 days and 14 is optimum 😱 any thoughts?

Leok83 · 28/03/2020 15:00

@Fizzl my LP was 11 days pre MC and had no problems conceiving then so I think if it’s over 10 days ur fine. Mines now 9-10 days since the MC so I’m hoping it starts to get a bit longer again! I stressed before I conceived it was too short but obviously didn’t need to stress..I MC at 9 weeks so wouldn’t have been anything to do with low progesterone at that stage or short LP.

Fizzl · 28/03/2020 15:08

Thanks @Leok83 the month before I conceived I had a 10lp according to my chart so I am taking some reassurances from I have previously had some short LP's (although not as consistent as they are now) and did still conceive. Hearing stories like yours also helps me keep things in perspective - thank you 💐

Leok83 · 28/03/2020 15:27

@Fizzl ur welcome and definitely dont be worried if you’ve had 10 day ones before😊

Annny27 · 28/03/2020 15:42

Thanks everyones for the welcome to the april thread!

@fizzl my LP is 14 days but it's done me no good Haha and I have seen plenty of women with short lps conceive :)

We have decided to take a months break from ttc and then reevaluate in may with the virus situation. One months break will probably do my mental health a lot of good as well! I am just conscious that I required an awful lot of medical intervention last pregnancy (various scans, blood tests, a&e admission and emergency surgery) all of which are a little stretched at the moment and whilst it's unlikely to happen again, my anxiety would mean I would worry too much.

Similar to @fizzl I'll still be keeping up to hopefully see some lovely bfps from you all :D
