TTC after miscarriage - April 2020

Starting this thread for anyone TTC after a miscarriage. My MC was in December and I’ve had no joy since, but these threads have been wonderful for being amongst lovely people going through the same thing.

As always, sorry to anyone who finds themselves here and fingers crossed we all get our rainbows soon 🌈

@GeminiFiona Yes I understand why some people would wait but I would never feel like waiting. Once I decide I want something I’m like a dog with a bone haha. Patience is a virtue and I have none of it unfortunately . I already feel like I’ve waited ages as since my Son was born it took 13 months to even get my cycles back so I feel I’ve already waited such a long time.

Hi @Renna - what's the sperm meets egg method? Did you previously have success with?

@Mommybear05 yeah I'm the same 👍as I'm sure all of us who are drawn to this thread are... trying to take back some control and get back the future we'd set our hearts on. It must have been anxious wait for you not getting AF for so long. And for most of us the wait includes the time we were trying to conceive the first time around which can be months/years too. Hopefully it happens soon for us all on this thread 🤞

Hi @geminifiona it's where you DTD on CD8 then every other day until you get positive OPK then you DTD on that day . The day after , then dont DTD the day after then DTD the day after that to cover all basis . I've not tried it before . I was TTC about 3 to 4 months before I got pregnant in December but the had a MMC in March . Those few months before I got pregnant
One month we tried DTD like every day around when I would expect to see a peak and it never came and I feel like we put too much pressure on trying every day and then I was probs stressed and maybe didnt even ovulate because of the stress . When we got pregnant in December we DTD like twice and was much more relaxed about it ..as it was over xmas break.. so I just feel like for me it's better for us not to try and DTD sooo much but then this method makes me feel like we have covered all chances . As it works on the basis that sperm can last up to 5 days and can take a while to reach the egg . By doing it on those days apparently it makes sure theres sperm there waiting for egg being released. Did some research online about it and some people seem to have success with it . Xx

Cd 20 today for me... stiiilll no peak on cb so god knows whats going on my opks are still fairly strong in the afternoons and iv had niggly ovulation pains since yest on and off. Been at it like rabbits 🙈😂 but dnt know whats going on or if iv ovulated my temp gone up a bit today but does it need to go over the coverline to confirm ovulation? X

@Hayleylou89 looking at that I'd say you're about to peak ? But yeah is weird how its got a bit stronger then back to faintish. Its deffo built up today though. Oh gawd really haha it can be exhausting cant it. Like I've said above doing it too much didnt go in my favour and got stressed about it . But when you're not sure when you're ovulating you panic and wanna make sure you're doing it when needed! But looks like you may be about to peak and it is when your app predicted isnt it ?
I do feel excited about going into this week of building up to peak xx

Iv done 2 cb tests today so not doing no more today, we dtd this morning anyway so will test again tomorrow AM - my predicted ovulation was today but it changed to tomorrow now after putting my temp in this morning xx

@VP91x well I've just done a cheapie opk and it's come up much stronger again so not sure if the opks were just detecting HCG in my system when I thought they'd peaked before. Cycles are normally 28days and I'm CD19 now, maybe I'm clutching at straws but going to try my CB tomorrow, some extra data can't be a bad thing.

@DisneyMummySince2010 just DTD every other day until you are pretty certain ovulation has passed.

@Renna I'm the same as you, it's my first month trying and I already see why people start to mentally struggle with sex after a while... I don't want to get to a point where it becomes a business transaction so going to try and keep it fun 😛

@Hayleylou89 my opk was suddenly much stronger today they are a bloody minefield, so I feel ya, haha

Also thankyou to @Mommybear05 @HE88 @DisneyMummySince2010 and @GeminiFiona but oddly, the bleeding has slowed to barely anything. It was one small flow of pink blood and now nothing

@Hayleylou89 yeah early on they looked stronger but my hcg tests were also coming back as strong positives so I'm thinking that could have been pregnancy hormones messing up the opk. Going to try out my CB tomorrow and see if that gives me any more clues. I've been really dry down there and no ovulation pains I can note (but I wasn't TTC before so have never taken note so may take me a while to get in tune with them). Sorry for the essay 🤦🏾‍♀️

We were the same we got pregnant right away first time around so now im trying to figure my signs out for everything now 🙈 iv def been obsessed this month but no chance im doing this next month ill just start opking and using cb a few days before my predicted ovulation day .. i started way too early this month and its just confused me xx best of luck to u this cycle x

@Re6ecc4 that’s so strange but maybe it’s implantation bleeding? I’ve read it can happen up 12 days past ovulation and ovulation can happen across a 5 day window too so potentially your dates are out a bit? I read that after an implantation bleed your hcg if pregnant doubles every two days so maybe take a HPT on Tuesday morning if you still have no more bleeding! Keep us updated 💛

@DisneyMummySince2010 maybe, I've read it can happen up to 14dpo, I'm not sure as often I get spotting before I start AF, but it's odd that its tailing off as usually it would get heavier, we will see!
