Starting this thread for anyone TTC after a miscarriage. My MC was in December and I’ve had no joy since, but these threads have been wonderful for being amongst lovely people going through the same thing.

As always, sorry to anyone who finds themselves here and fingers crossed we all get our rainbows soon 🌈

@GeminiFiona sorry for your loss. How are you finding preserved? I've heard it can be a bit slippery 🤦🏾‍♀️ definitely more time to google during lockdown, I'm a key worker so been in the office but a lot of evenings and weekends at home to think.

Have you had any symptoms that you may be pregnant now? Wishing you luck for this next week hopefully you've already done the work x

SmileyT · 04/04/2020 19:17

@GeminiFiona sorry just re-read your post and realised you said you've had no symptoms but as you said you're still really early so if you're late definitely worth taking another test x

GeminiFiona · 04/04/2020 19:29

@SmileyT thanks for the positive vibes. Sorry for what you've been through too, hope you're staying safe.
Yeah think I'd try Preseed again next cycle (obviously would love this to be it though! But in my head already thinking ahead to next cycle, woman on a mission!). I didn't really have a clue how much Preseed to use... I mean follow the instructions but didn't feel like I had enough up there and I did it on my own and there was a bit of a delay (15mins) with my partner faffing and coming to bed so I stuck a bit more up there! I'd recommend it, cause sort of took the pressure off being super aroused... it was timed sex after positive ovulation test. Gawd us women end up spending a fortune on all the gadgets and promises of pregnancy don't we!!

SmileyT · 04/04/2020 20:23

@GeminiFiona sorry for the random question but having a look on amazon at preseed and wondering whether the packets that say 9 applications means 9 times DTD? I'm not getting the tube or going to the gym during lockdown so spending all the money on TTC - might also order some extra vitamin tablets 😂

Skygirl1983 · 04/04/2020 20:27

@SmileyT I use preseed too and the 9 applications means it comes with 9 syringes to insert it. I found it made me quite wet but good to use during foreplay too if you don't want to insert!

SmileyT · 04/04/2020 20:40

Ooh thanks that makes sense @Skygirl1983 I'll give it a go!! Are you taking any vitamins at the moment? x

Skygirl1983 · 04/04/2020 21:36

@SmileyT deffo worth giving it a go and see what suits you. But I have known other people who have conceived with it as have I.
I've been taking Feroglobin which is Iron, Folic acid and B12. I needed iron after the MC and that was recommended. They all work well together.

HE88 · 04/04/2020 22:48

Hi all just came across this post hope you dont mind me joining. I'm so sorry for everyone's loss. I had a missed miscarriage in February I was 10 weeks but lost baby around the 8 weeks mark. I had been ttc baby number 2 for just over 2 years and had undergone fertility investigations and ended up having a laparoscopy in October. I fell pregnant after 2 cycles which I was delighted about. Anyway I've not long finished my 1st period now on cycle day 12 and started using opks today I got my positive which seems really early for me going by previous testing before the miscarriage. Not really sure what to think any advice anyone? Xx

GeminiFiona · 04/04/2020 23:31

@SmileyT@Skygirl1983 likewise, I have a friend who conceived using preseed, she recommended. And that's interesting about Feroglobin and iron levels and it's all in one? Contains B12 and folic?... I wasn't really given any follow up advice following my mmc. I have a GP appointment (phone) after Easter to ask about referral and next steps as it's been 6 months & I'm over 35.
I just take the preconception multi. But in the past have also taken vitamin D and folic just separately. Feel like the vitamin D helped.

Sallyjo27 · 04/04/2020 23:34

Hi to all the new ladies that have joined, sorry for your losses. You are in good company here.
@GeminiFiona I hope you are finding some time to yourself, I agree with the lockdown madness- it’s all I think about now as I’m not in work much and I agree my husband is exactly the same! I initiate it, obviously he’s happy to but I don’t feel that he has the same sense of urgency lol.

Hi @HE88 I’ve had exactly the same this month. I’ve just finished my first period and had a positive ovulation test on cycle day 13 when usually I don’t ovulate until day 18. I think hormones are still settling and getting back to normal. Also I’ve read that just because we’ve detected a surge doesn’t mean we defo have ovulated. Some people get many positives in one cycle x

GeminiFiona · 04/04/2020 23:41

@HE88 sorry for your mmc, it's such a rough way to find out. It's still early days be easy on yourself. A positive sign that you got pregnant... hopefully a breakthrough and you'll have a successful outcome this year and healthy baby in 2021.
My cycle is usually 29 days and I ovulate on day 15. But the month before last (Feb) I was testing and got LH surge on day 12 and my cycle that month was only 26 days so not unusual and guess that's why ovulation tests a good investment. Maybe it's a seasonal thing! Sorry for my ignorance, but what's a laparoscopy?

SmileyT · 05/04/2020 00:07

@GeminiFiona @Skygirl1983 I just ordered the preseed and a B complex vitamin 🙌🏾 I already take folic acid, vit D, iron and calcium but will probably switch to a mutlivitamin when they are all finished.

@HE88 sorry for your loss and that you find yourself here but good news that you are nearing ovulation, I haven't had my first AF since my MMC in March, but based on others experiences there can be a shift in cycle post MC. Hoping that you've primed your body for pregnancy and that you get your BFP soon for your 2021 🌈 baby.

VP91x · 05/04/2020 05:43

Hope you are all okay today 😊

So second day of testing and flashing smiley again on my clearblue advanced test - do you think it is worth me testing twice a day now? When would be the best time to do a second test? I have 17 sticks left so don't want to run out too soon, but I should have enough. I don't have any of the little strip ones I have seen on this thread.

Also, whilst it is still flashing is it worth DTD every day still or best to do every other day?

X

Mommybear05 · 05/04/2020 07:16

@GeminiFiona hi and welcome. Sorry to hear your story. But you are in the 2ww now. Good luck! I have been talking to my husband about that preseed stuff. He keeps saying we don’t need it but in any case it sounds fun ;)

I’m now on cd 23 and cm has gone back to sticky and OPKs only have one line on them now. Cd 17- 19 I had ewcm and my OPKs we’re going darker but I never actually got a positive. I’m thinking I either missed the surge or didn’t ovulate at all. First cycle after mc but we don’t want to wait one bit!

Mommybear05 · 05/04/2020 07:18

@Skygirl1983 good morning. You are taking all the different vitamins. I used to do that but I went to see a pharmacist and was told that a preconception multivitamin is enough. I’ve got some iron tablets already in the cupboard. What do you think???

Mommybear05 · 05/04/2020 07:24

@HE88 hello and welcome to the board. Sorry for your loss that must be so tough! I’ve been reading up on laparoscopy as I’ve never heard of it! So I gather you had a keyhole surgery to look at conditions in reproductive system? No idea about your early ovulation I’m afraid. I think cycles can be all over the place at this point! If you’re ready, I would just bd every other day if you can. That’s what we’ve done when the bleeding stopped. Feel like if I did ovulate and have a chance of pregnancy we can’t have missed it. In the grand scheme of things it’s all you can do! I really hope you don’t have to wait so long this time to get your bfp. Sending lots of baby dust your way Flowers

Re6ecc4 · 05/04/2020 07:57

@Mommybear05 preconception vitamins are enough, because they usually contain a good range of vitamins and minerals that you need. Always check before you use any extra that you're not doubling or trebling your recommended intake, there is an NHS page specifically about vitamins and also a vitamins in pregnancy page. If you're unsure of whether you're getting enough of the important vitamins like vitamin D and iron then your doctor can check whether you are or not (blood test)! Then they are able to advise you how many mg per day to take. With vitamins it also takes a good while for the results of taking them to show in your system so be aware of that too.
I'm a pharmacy worker by the way :)

Re6ecc4 · 05/04/2020 07:59

Also welcome to both @GeminiFiona and @HE88, I'm sorry that you both have to be here but the conception journey is an exciting one!

Re6ecc4 · 05/04/2020 08:03

Also for the rest of you who know me already, here is your daily update - day three no period and discharge is increasing. Little pains with wind which I only get when pregnant. Not much nausea recently but little bits of dizziness. My boobs hurt :(
Worried that if my symptoms wax and wane then I'll just spend the whole time worrying about miscarriage (that is IF I'm pregnant, today is a no-test day, I'm testing again in 3 days)

Mommybear05 · 05/04/2020 08:03

@Re6ecc4 thank you! And yes I can tell you work in a pharmacy that’s exactly what the lady said to me. I’ve just been on a that seven seas purple one. And I force my husband to take his well man but he hates it and like everything he always says is ‘ I don’t need it’. How are you feeling today?

Mommybear05 · 05/04/2020 08:03

@Re6ecc4 I did it again... asked for an update as you posted it haha

Mommybear05 · 05/04/2020 08:05

Sore boobs can also be a sign of early pregnancy. Ooh waiting for those three days is going to be tempting. Keep busy!

Re6ecc4 · 05/04/2020 08:20

@Mommybear05 that's just men though isn't it! They're all like it.
And yeah I'm thinking the sore boobs are now that I've missed my period but they're also annoying!! Also very hungry, and unable to sleep past 8 at the moment, I wasnt so insomniac last night but that's because I've barely slept lately. Pretty sure lot being able to sleep is a pregnancy symptom. How are you feeling?

Mommybear05 · 05/04/2020 08:33

@Re6ecc4 I bet you’re not sleeping coz of the anticipation. So I guess you’re testing around Tuesday? Do you have a test ready? I’ve got three in the cupboard ready for mine.

I’m good thanks. Weaning lasted a few hours Hmm and I ended up breastfeeding before bed again last night. I’m so weak with this! Just can’t seem to stop!
Cd23 here. I had ewcm around cd 17 and my OPKs went darker but didn’t actually go positive so I’m not sure if I ovulated. Cm has gone back to sticky and my OPKs now only have one line so I will see. When I got pregnant in January my test didn’t show positive until later just like you. So I’ll be waiting a while. Not sure what to expect at all!

GeminiFiona · 05/04/2020 08:45

Morning and thank you @Mommybear05 and @Re6cc4 and so sorry you have to be on this not so straightforward path to conception as well!

I'm 4 days away from expected AF but don't feel pregnant, my stomach feels pancake flat no bloating but I think I will know by tomorrow, I usually get change in CM, usually a bit of brown before my break through bleed on day of first AF. And I'd have my hopes up more if I hadn't caved and done x2 tests yesterday... the one step strips. Grrr... if I do suspect next cycle think I'd try and wait as long as possible before testing... ideally I'd like to wake up 13 wks pregnant! Grin and miss all the angst.

When I was pregnant last year I didn't test until a week after my missed period, I was busy with friends staying and didn't want to "break the spell" that I was pregnant. But my clues and symptoms were CM that was just the 'regular' healthy discharge you see outside of ovulation and menstruation. Creamy and thicker than EWCM and it kept going on and on, thought it unusual time of the month to experiencing. And I also had dizziness on about day 26 (29 day cycle) and more the following week when expected AF due.
