Starting this thread for anyone TTC after a miscarriage. My MC was in December and I’ve had no joy since, but these threads have been wonderful for being amongst lovely people going through the same thing.

As always, sorry to anyone who finds themselves here and fingers crossed we all get our rainbows soon 🌈

Thanks @Hayleylou89 was just being a grumpy goose this morning... but you are right I'm sure another 4 weeks from now I'll hopefully be in my TWW with much more hope.

@Renna yeah I know what you mean about the size, for me something must have psychologically changed because as soon as the scan found the MMC I started bleeding very heavily and remember clots much larger than usual. I did read that sometimes AF 'flushes you out' so hopefully it's a good thing and nothing to worry about it 🧡

Bellabubble · 01/04/2020 12:38

Ahh man - I have been added to my husband’s family message group to make a crochet square for a baby blanket for his cousin who is expecting. They don’t even know we were pregnant let alone MC - not sure why but this is making me feel quite sad! But weirdly I’m still excited for my friend who I would have been due 2 weeks behind - I don’t feel sad talking and sharing about her pregnancy, only a little jealous at times that I have to start again so to speak!!

Also - sorry if I’m being to intrusive - has anyone experienced a shorter and lighter AF post MC? Mine have always been 5/6 days, fairly heavy As a “normal” - but this one stopped after 48hrs - most of the stuff I read made me believe this one was going to be heavier and longer than my norm? So confused today!!

SmileyT · 01/04/2020 12:52

@Skygirl1983 @Re6ecc4 everyday I get a little more excited for you first testers in our group 💜

@Mommybear05 yes you're right at least an amazon order is something to look forward to might even treat myself to a 12 pack of toilet roll aswell 💁🏾‍♀️

@Bellabubble ive not had my first post MC AF but just wanted to say I think it's normal to feel up and down about different things, some days I'm like woo I can have a drink and live my life other days I'm so jealous of one of my best friends that is now 25 weeks pregnant. Sounds strange but I'm actually mourning some of the plans I had for our joint mat leave together and our kids growing up together more than anything. Just be kind to yourself we can only do what we can do x

Skygirl1983 · 01/04/2020 12:55

@Bellabubble that's rough. I would feel sad too. Its perfectly normal to feel that way. My step sister is due her baby in June. I'm so happy for her but still a little jealous. Same with a workmate who announced her pregnancy last week. She is a week ahead of where I was. I felt a pang of jealousy when she announced it as I should have been announcing mine. Instead I was dealing with the emotions of the mc and no one knew I was pregnant. I'm so happy for them both. But like you, sad that I have to do all of the ttc stuff again. And go through all of the stresses and anxieties again!

Renna · 01/04/2020 13:14

@Bellabubble that is tough 😓 and so normal to feel all sorts of emotions xx I've literally just had my first AF since surgical management, which was 2nd March. And it's literally lasted like 48 hours too. I've never had a really heavy period but would last like 4 days and have like one day that I'm pretty heavy. Whereas this was really light, used like 2 tampons and both didnt absorb much at all and took out much sooner than I normally would as was uncomfortable from the flow being so light. So yeah deffo shorter and lighter than usual for me. Just had a big weird lump of tissue which I mentioned in my previous comments.
I have read other people experience lighter and shorter periods after SMM . But everyone is different too I guess . I'm kind of thinking that if you have the surgical management they take away a lot of uterus lining .. so I'd expect there be less there to pass when you have AF . Not sure about natural MC though. Hope this helps a bit xx

Mommybear05 · 01/04/2020 13:16

@Bellabubble yes it’s hard to be ok with stuff like that I’ll say. This lockdown is helping me by NOT seeing people. I’m welcoming it right now.

Not sure about AF. When I get it I’ll let u know 🤔

Charlott3 · 01/04/2020 14:08

@Re6ecc4 ive been feeling quite dizzy too, have you had many other symptoms? 12dpo today for me :)

Leok83 · 01/04/2020 14:12

@Renna @courtneyrenna my 1st AF was completely off. Was light first day, second day heavy with clots and what did look like bits of tissue, 3rd day light, 4th day heavy. Then spotted and passed tiny bits of tissue up to ovulation at 20 days. Last AF was a lot more normal although heavier than normal..lasted 6 days and my usual is 4 but no spotting since then thank god! I think it just takes time for body to get back to normal so don’t worry if your first AF isn’t normal.

Re6ecc4 · 01/04/2020 14:22

@Charlott3 it's been my lack of symptoms bothering me! Mild nausea, dizziness and insomnia. But I tested now even though its afternoon etc and it was neg. But I only wee'd an hour and a half ago so I knew it wouldnt work but I did it anyway..😭

Charlott3 · 01/04/2020 14:28

@re6ecc4 when i was pregnant with my twins i didnt notice any early symptoms before testing. This time im a bit dizzy and got lots of lotion like CM but IC all coming back negative. Going to try holding out now till Friday! Isolation and TWW is dragging!!

Ejb86 · 01/04/2020 14:56

I'm only 5dpo and I'm so impatient to get to the end of this TWW.

Bellabubble · 01/04/2020 16:11

Thank you ladies!! I think i’ll feel better tomorrow too when I’m an in at work (teacher) - the children do wonders for keeping my brain occupied!

@Renna thank you - that does make sense about the SMM! I also just remembered that when I went for my final scan, I was 12 days passed my MC but the nurse said I had very thin lining so was only at the beginning of my cycle - and then 17 days later AF arrived, so my lining just probably wasn’t very thick. Thinking positively- I can get some decent tracking in this month!!

Re6ecc4 · 01/04/2020 16:27

@Charlott3 it's absolutely dragging I'm due on friday so well see! Hoping I dont come on

Re6ecc4 · 01/04/2020 20:45

So in case anyone wanted an update, I've started getting niggling little pains in my uterus, I'm not sure what they are cause they're nothing like period cramps

Skygirl1983 · 01/04/2020 21:13

I have just downloaded my clue app again with all my previous tracking on it. Mostly to see when my tender boobs start. Looks like I'm a couple of days away from them starting to get tender before AF. Probably around Friday or Saturday. More wet creamy CM today though. Both clue and flo are predicting AF around Easter weekend based on previous cycle lengths. Which seeing as I ovulated should be about right.

SmileyT · 01/04/2020 21:25

Ooh @Re6ecc4 that sounds encouraging... did you say you took a test today and it was negative ☹️ hoping that it turns around for you and AF doesn't show up x

Re6ecc4 · 01/04/2020 21:40

Does it? It made me nervous! And yeah but I did take the test in the afternoon with like 1 hour hold on a wee 😅so it was my own fault.

Re6ecc4 · 01/04/2020 21:41

@SmileyT when I was first pregnant it took me.until 6 days after missing AF to get a faint +

SmileyT · 01/04/2020 22:03

@Re6ecc4 definitely hold off a few days then, I've honestly got everything crossed for you, I feel like we know our bodies better than anyone else so if you're getting good signs that means more than anything 🙌🏾

Re6ecc4 · 01/04/2020 22:14

@SmileyT and me for you! When are you going to test? I'm praying that my signs are good, thus is how I felt last time so hoping my body isnt playing tricks

Mommybear05 · 02/04/2020 04:39

@Re6ecc4 ooh good luck! How exciting!

francis05 · 02/04/2020 08:38

Hi Ladies, hope you don't mind me jumping on, been following forka couple of weeks now.

My story is I found out I was pregnant at the start of Jan after trying for a few months, wasn't getting any periods after stopping the pill ih Sept so wasn't even sure I was ovulating... Obvs I was!! Anyway that pregnancy unfortunately ended in a mmc at 10 weeks, initially took medication on 2/03 but thrt failed so had surgery on 24/03. Bleeding stopped around 4 days after and feel we are ready to try again.

Ovulation tests are confusing the hell out of me so just trying to spot symptoms of ovulation. At the time I worked out I ovulated in Dec I recorded that I had indigestion, as it was before Xmas/New Year I thought it was just all the food & drink etc... But now I have it again for the last couple of days. Has anyone ever had indigestion as an ovulation symptom?

Anyway sorry for the essay just needed someone to talk to instead of going through it in my head all the time. As im sure you can all imagine I'm already making plans for my xmas/New Year baby!! Lol! 🤦‍♀️ Xx

Mommybear05 · 02/04/2020 09:37

@francis05 hi nice to meet you sorry for your loss 😟 sounds like we were mc around the same time. Glad to hear you are ready to start again 👍
Regarding indigestion- pass! No idea. I’ve only just started tracking my ovulation too. I’ve been with my husband since we were teenagers and so I was on the pill from a young age. When I came off I got pg on the first cycle without really paying much attention. Since having my son I breastfed so had no cycle. Then ppaf. Then pregnant then mc. So I have absolutely no idea what to look for in a cycle! Sorry just realised I typed out my life history 🙈 anyway I’m using the Ovia app and it’s pretty good for noting symptoms like that so maybe give it a try? I too am fantasising about a December baby 😍 would be an absolute miracle 🌈

Mommybear05 · 02/04/2020 09:40

Finding these cheapies so hard to read! These are all negative, right? I think next time I’ll use the clear blue digital.

@Mommybear05 I find the Ovia app the best one to use too, the symptoms I noted during last ovulation before BFP was indigestion & sore nipples, definitely got indigestion at the moment, also a mixture of EWCM & creamy... Who knows what to think!

I've only just started using OPKs but from what ive seen and read its a good sign that they are getting darker?
