TTC after miscarriage - April 2020

Starting this thread for anyone TTC after a miscarriage. My MC was in December and I’ve had no joy since, but these threads have been wonderful for being amongst lovely people going through the same thing.

As always, sorry to anyone who finds themselves here and fingers crossed we all get our rainbows soon 🌈

@Skygirl1983 yes four cycles that’s a positive sign. When I came off the pill I got pregnant with my son straight away but it’s the breastfeeding that has delayed my fertility. We wanted another as soon as he was born we were so in love and just couldn’t wait to have more. But period stayed away for 13 whole months! Luckily the first period when it finally arrived was the only one before I got pregnant again. But then the mc 😟 who knows? I wish I had a crystal ball.

@Bellabubble hi and welcome. Sorry you find yourself here. You sound similar to me. I mc at nine weeks but the scan showed I measured 4/5. Was very upsetting. Good you have your af. Now you can start trying! So are you using any apps or OPKs??

@Harper04 first timer using OPKs here too! Just cheap ones from Amazon. They’re all negative so far. I had ewcm yesterday at cd 17. But no positive opk. Hubby insists I’m not ovulating because of this but it’s my understanding that you are fertile before the peak. I’m not sure I’ll ever get a positive! But I’ll keep using them and then swap to the clear blue expensive ones if no luck x

Thank you. It’s been a little tricky, as I would have been due 2 weeks behind my friend who is now at 16 weeks, and I am so so happy for her - but jealous for the time I feel I have lost if that makes sense?

I use the Natural Cycles app, which I found spot on first time round! But also got some cheapy LH sticks for now too. I felt like I was ovulating when I went for my last scan - body was doing all the usual things with cm etc, but the nurse said from the scan that I wasn’t and that I was at the beginning of the cycle. That being said, as I started tracking after she said that, all the LH sticks came back negative and my natural apps couldn’t find my ovulation day this cycle (my temp was still high for a while post miscarriage) on top of no cm makes me think either I ovulated really early, or not at all! Weirdly in a way I’m pleased AF came back so quickly at least. I definitely find I am useless at interpreting the LH strips though - if anyone has any tips that’d be great - I never get a positive, the test line only ever got close once, but it was still a teeny bit lighter than the control line!

@SmileyT I have and still super low so wonder if we’re in the same boat on that one?!? They are super confusing aren’t they! I did have some clear blue but have a POAS obsession so not the cheapest choice! Did you BD around getting your high result? X

@SmileyT yes I heard the hormones after mc can attest OPKs. So did you do a negative hpt to confirm Your hcg levels have dropped? I did mine yesterday and it was negative. Strange to hope for a negative hpt. I only used a cheapie from Morrison’s for this depressing task though! Here’s to the clear blue next cycle I’ve a feeling I’ll be joining you. I’ll check out that app. Not sure how it can help with interpreting the sticks? I’m really not sure how accurate they are but everything is worth a shot!

Hey 👋 had a MMC January 31st got my first period March 12th only lasted 5 days usually longer but here I am now in the TWW 4dpo used clearblue advanced fertility monitor. AF due on 11th April .

hubby wasn't to keen on trying during these uncertain times, as he said if we didn't loose the baby would be due August ! But he's of the opinion if it happens it happens I didn't do the baby dance during peak days but did on high so we know there Is a high chance.

@Bellabubble I hear you about your friend. My friend is three weeks ahead of what I was too. I never told her about the pregnancy/ miscarriage and really don’t want to either. But it’s really hard. I am really happy for her though.

Yup I’m also confuse about OPKs so no advice I’m afraid! I too never get a positive! I hope I’m ovulating anyway though somehow! Bd regularly anyway but I think I’m wearing hubby out

Morning everyone! Quick update that AF still hasn't arrived and neither have any of her symptoms, with three days to go I'm trying my hardest not to a) buy any tests or b) be too hopeful.

@Mommybear05 I feel you on wearing your husband out! I wear my partner out sometimes. I never thought that I'd have a higher sex drive than a man but here we are 😅

@bb077 we have all questioned whether it's the right thing, main thing is whether it's right for you and no one can say you should stop because it's such a personal thing! Also August is my birth month, so sorry to you to have lost a little August flower 🌸

In the interest of symptom spotting, I've had little spells of both nausea and dizziness, small amounts of cramps in my abdomen, I'm still having significant discharge, I dont have sore boobs yet, but they're not fitting in my bra and the nipples are a tiny bit darker, although I feel like I'm imagining that.

@Mommybear05 they are so confusing aren’t they! I have never used them before and was so excited to see a line there until I read it’s a negative! I’ll keep going with them though - anything that will increase chances! That’s a good sign with the EWCM! Ive never been so interested about all that in my life as I am now, my google history looks crazy haha! I’m looking forward to stop bleeding now. Did you have pregnancy symptoms for a while after your MC if you don’t mind me asking? I still have nausea, sore breasts and so so tired! It’s really sad because it keeps reminding me, wish they would go. I have negative now on my pregnancy test though so hopefully they should be gone soon!

@TerribleImagination yep cd1 suuuucks! Luckily since having my miscarriage my periods have been less painful so it's just the emotional pain :(

Hey @bb077! So sorry to hear about your loss. My fingers are crossed for you and that AF doesn’t make an appearence! My partners the same, if it happens it happens. I’ve been on mums net so much that it’s been a good distraction from my MC and this virus! It’s a crazy time we are living in right now.

@Dipsy77 @Bellabubble not sure what my ovulation has done, my first time trying, but I found the IC tests were very strong lines and now down to 0 but when I started OPKs pregnancy test was still showing a BFP so not sure if they have affected the OPKs. Plan to take another pregnancy test on Thursday to see if that is down to zero and also track LH throughout the whole month

@dinosaur17 we've been DTD everyday since bleeding stopped and will probably just continue until AF arrives - although OH is working 12hr night shifts for 6 nights from Thursday so we'll see what happens 😂

@Mommybear05 I haven't had a negative HPT yet but I'm waiting for the 2 week mark to try again as it was quite a dark line last week. I've already decided that once I get that negative I won't test again for at least 4 weeks and will use the same brand just to make sure I don't get my hopes up ☹️ Yeah I'm not 100% of the app interpreting results but kinda like having them all pictured in one place so I can see a trend.

@Re6ecc4 not long to go until you can test, I feel like it's actually a great distraction hoping for other people's positive outcomes rather than just my own ☺️

Hey @Annny27 we are cycle buddies as I'm on cd2 too 😊 bring on next week to the more exciting time when I feel like I can actually be doing something about TTC ! Not sure which wait is worse .. before ovulation or after 🤣🙄
My first AF since MMC last month. So not sure when I'll ovulate. Used to be around CD14-16 ovulation. But will start earlier testing like you say you ovulated earlier. Wishing lots of luck to you xx how long are your cycles?

Any one tried the sperm meets egg method? Just been reading about it online.

@Harper04 aw sorry to hear you are still having symptoms. When I was pregnant with my son I was very sick from week six onwards. I couldn’t stand any smells and was sick and giddy all day and the fatigue literally knocked me off my feet. I would come out the shower and lie on the bed soaking wet without the energy to dry myself off. It lasted til 16 weeks. With this pregnancy that I mc though I felt nothing other than frequent urination. Nothing at all. And I was worried. I googled, spoke to husband and midwife but they all said every pregnancy different and just because no symptoms doesn’t mean a problem. But for me it was next the hcg is what causes the nausea. When I mc my levels were around 300 for nine weeks pregnant. Shockingly low. So I knew it! I will embrace sickness next time!

@Mommybear05 thank you! Got my first flashing smiley today😊 last cycle it flashed for 8 days before I got my peak compared to 3 days the cycle I conceived so hopefully it doesn’t drag out again this cycle as it gets very frustrating!!

@Bellabubble I know how you feel about ur friend. I’ve a friend who has MC around this time last year and she’s now due 3 weeks before I would have been. So happy for her cause I know she went through the same, but I haven’t brought myself to tell her I was even pregnant and MC yet..I don’t want her to feel she can’t post exciting updates about her pregnancy but it makes me so sad whenever I see her bump pics..and I feel so bad then for feeing that way.
In so far as the opks go the apps are quite good for giving an idea of progression. Don’t get too worried if it doesn’t go to peak though, I never get a peak reading even the cycle I conceived but I use BBT so can I know I’ve def ovulated so a high for me is enough of a surge to trigger ovulation. We all produce different levels of LH and some produce more to trigger ovulation. Hope that makes sense!

Hi all, who monitors their CM? I'm 3dpo and really wet! Lots of creamy CM today and yesterday. Not thick creamy, very liquid like creamy! I was very leaky when I was pregnant last time too. But cant recall how early it started. If you haven't conceived your CM should be thicker and dryer shouldn't it?

Stiiil that god damn flashy face for me and im CD 15 been testing twice a day so hope i dont run out of sticks before i find my peak 😒... really hope it happens soon 🙏 here are my cheapies from today x

@Hayleylou89 hi babe x yeah feeling bit better than how I felt yesterday..seems like my normal kinda period just maybe a bit lighter . Usually only lasts like 4 days so hopefully couple more days only left.
Ugh that bloody flashing smiley. I was going to say might be because it's the first month you've used the test stick but you're doing the cheapies too so as long as you're doing them you're doubly covered. That's what I'll be doing this time roun seeing as I got like all those 20 bloody flashing smileys. That's what my cheapies always look like too always seem to have a faint line there xx how you feeling in yourself ? Xx
