TTC after ectopic pregnancy

Mumlili9 · 25/02/2020 03:22

Hello I'm hoping to chat with other ladies ttc after ectopic pregnancy with tubal removal. I recently had an ectopic pregnancy and lost my left tube. I don't know anyone who has been through this so I've no one to talk to about this. I would love this tread to become a kind of support group where we can support each other on the scary journey of ttc.

I had an ectopic in December. Lost my tube too. Was bleeding internally. I want another one but wondering if I should stop because of the Coronavirus. I also so not seem to have any fertile cervical mucus anymore. Freaking out that I won’t get my rainbow baby.

Ivybutterfly · 22/03/2020 16:00

Really sorry I did not say sorry for your loss. Didn’t mean to be selfish. I think today is hard for mothers who have experienced baby loss. Xxxx

Springandsummer123 · 22/03/2020 16:58

Welcome @Ivybutterfly - sorry to hear of your loss. It sounds like removing the tube is the standard procedure. I've read it's safer to remove it completely, especially if the other tube looks healthy.
My period has just returned and I'm in my first fertile period now since the op. We are just going to crack on - due to being one tube down it may take a while so I just want to give it the best shot possible, but I do know lots of people who are holding off TTC due to CV-19. I think it's only something you and your partner can decide :)

Mumlili9 · 22/03/2020 20:43

Ladies my fears over my period were a bit premature today it's like a very normal period thank goodness. If fact its the best one I've had in over a year. DH and I have decided to crack on trying we figure it's going to take much longer now if at all so no point in not trying.
@Ivybutterfly welcome and sorry for the loss of your little one and your tube.

Thank you. ❤️❤️❤️

Ivybutterfly · 22/03/2020 22:33

I was told by the doctor that 85% of women who have an ectopic have a baby within a year naturally. So there is hope.

Springandsummer123 · 23/03/2020 06:21

That's great news @Mumlili9 and a very reassuring statistic to read @Ivybutterfly.

I've been using the clear blue digital ovulation tests for a few days now and must say I've been very pleased. I've also been using the cheapy POAS ones and they've barely been showing anything yet the Clearblue has been saying I'm fertile - in line with my predicted peak days on my charts - I use Kindara/fitbit and the clear blue tests come with an app.

Would highly recommend!!

Ivybutterfly · 23/03/2020 09:27

That is good to hear. I have been using the pound store ones and they are terrible. Lol.

BMWL · 23/03/2020 09:41

Hi everyone, hope you are all keeping well and safe!
I got AF last week, exactly 5 weeks after the op.
Fertile window will start next week I think! Not sure what to do as I was told to wait 2 full cycles.
Would it be dangerous to start ttc now after only 1 cycle?xx

Springandsummer123 · 23/03/2020 09:59

@BMWL - that's what I've read too. I'm not sure it's because it's 'dangerous' it's more about making sure your body has recovered from the op and you are emotional recovered from what happened.
They also want your periods to regulate so you have a clear period start date so if you get pregnant they can accurately get your dates right. That's what I've taken from everything I've read but I'm no doctor!
I feel ready to try again so we're going for it (I'm 7 weeks post op now) x

Mumlili9 · 23/03/2020 20:17

@BMWL I'm starting my first cycle since surgery and were going to try

Sammyclaire22 · 27/03/2020 13:34

How's everyone getting on? I'm currently 10dpo and have sore boobs but frer yesterday and wilko today are negative. I'm also day 2 of probable Covid so stuck in bed and feel too rough to do anything but over analyse!

Springandsummer123 · 28/03/2020 07:55

Hi @Sammyclaire22 - hope you're feeling better today. Have you done any more tests??
I'm out of the fertile window now - we d2d a few times over the past week so will just wait and see. I was hoping I'd have ovulation cramps so I could feel if it were left or right side but couldn't really feel anything! I'm carrying on as normal and will try not to think about it.
X

Sammyclaire22 · 28/03/2020 08:14

Feeling a bit better- my dd was up early though so started feeling a bit rough again. Just making sure I rest lots to get over it quickly!

Had a tiny bit of spotting yesterday so i got my hopes up even more (I've had slight spotting 10dpo when I've had a bfp) but my bbt has dropped loads today so think it might just be a short luteal phase as this cycle has been a bit wonky. I tested this morning and bfn still.

The first few months of ttc this time I was sure I could feel which side, but the last few I've not had any pain at all. Probably for the best so it puts less pressure on months you think are the tube side. Good luck keeping busy in your tww!

Ivybutterfly · 28/03/2020 08:38

This is what I am aways like until I get my period! I take so many pregnancy tests. Good luck everyone. Xx

Mumlili9 · 28/03/2020 20:06

Hi ladies we are back on the ttc train. I'm Cd8 and used to ovulate on cd11 so it's a go this cycle. We dtd for the first time since my surgery last night and omg I was terrified it would feel bad I'm very please to say it wasn't at all. Now to get to poas and pray I ovulate on the right side not the left. I'm praying it won't take the 18 months some people say it took them, I'm too old to wait that long.

OP posts:
Springandsummer123 · 29/03/2020 07:23

GOODLUCK @Mumlili9 !!
At least you have plenty of time to dtd now we're all shut in!!!

Sammyclaire22 · 29/03/2020 09:12

Good luck @mumlili9 and glad first time back on it went ok!

I'm 12dpo and feel awful Envy Really sick and still have sore boobs. Had a big bbt drop yesterday but it went back up again today and still bfns. Not sure if it's all just corona symptoms amd wishful thinking though as my head just spins if I'm up and I have rib pain still! So confused!

Sammyclaire22 · 29/03/2020 22:33

Just seen a post to give us all hope- if anyone is on Instagram check out lucieandthebump. She's just announced her bump is a magical wrong side ovary and lots of comments from other who have had the same x

Mumlili9 · 30/03/2020 03:23

@Sammyclaire22 sorry your feeling so unwell. It seems things are still abit mucked up for me. I got a peak yesterday 29th which is rediculously early and pains on both sides of my pelvis so I'm not sure what is happening with me right now.

OP posts:
Springandsummer123 · 30/03/2020 08:18

Thanks for the reccomendation @Sammyclaire22 - it's amazing to think the tubes can do that and has definitely given me hope!
Is anyone terrified of actually getting pregnant again? I'm so worried it will get stuck in the remaining tube. I'm also worried about what to do if I do get pregnant- would they still do an early scan with everything that's going on right now?
@Mumlili9 - did you manage to dtd in your fertile window?? X

Mumlili9 · 30/03/2020 12:50

@Springandsummer123 yes cd7 and Cd8 peaked cd9 but DH couldn't. I am now cd10 and definitely ovulated last night /this morning on my left side gutted. How are you hun. My epu does an early scan and bloods if you've had an ep before but at the mo you have to go on your own.
