TTC after ectopic pregnancy

Hello I'm hoping to chat with other ladies ttc after ectopic pregnancy with tubal removal. I recently had an ectopic pregnancy and lost my left tube. I don't know anyone who has been through this so I've no one to talk to about this. I would love this tread to become a kind of support group where we can support each other on the scary journey of ttc.

@Sammyclaire22 aww I'm sorry to hear that hun. I've had 4 chemical pregnancies and my cycle just continued as normal.

I'm testing with opks now but nothing happening yet. I'm not sure when to expect AF either which I hate. I'm a control freak lol

I was a little after 6 weeks @Sammyclaire22 - so glad I wasn't further along. At least your body is doing what it needs to do and you'll be ready to try again soon.
Hahaha @Mumlili9 you sound just like me! I'm a control freak too, this definitely wasn't in my plan!
Was just in the bath and spotted a bit of a stitch in one of my scars - gave it a pull and about an inch came out! Was stuck to something though and wouldn't all come out so just snipped it off. Made me feel a bit ill so am chilling with a glass of wine to make myself feel better! So that's two bits of stitches left in me somewhere - battle wounds hey Wine

Thanks guys.. sorry to hear that @mumlili9, ttc is no easy path.
The hubby is away on a course for the next few days but I've got a takeaway on route tonight :)
Starting to get in the mode for the next cycle now too, I seem to ovulate quite early these days so as soon as AF hits Its almost my fw again!
@springsummer123 my stitches had knots at the end... could that be what's stuck? Took me a few days to get all of mine out before i realised which end to pull because of them! The worst one was my belly button as i was sure he had created an outy but there was an extra sneaky stitch bulging it up.

@Sammyclaire22 just so annoyed they didn't use dissolvables! Can still see a bit in my belly button scar and now the other one has disappeared back inside since I cut a long bit of it off - hopefully they won't get infected. Just one thing after another! Glad you're feeling positive & enjoying your takeaway!
Good job your DH will be back in time for next FW Smile

Ladies I have dissolvable stitches but they just will not dissolve. Its driving me crazy they catch on clothing as well so I'm convinced that they will be pulled out and cause more scars.

@mumlili9 mine were supposed to be dissolvable but didn't either so I took them out myself (sterilized the stuff first!) But if they are bothering you you can book into the nurse at your gp to get them removed.
How are you both feeling now? X

Sounds like all variety of stitches are awful then :( I wonder if they will remove dissolvable? Do you have a bath? I spend hours most evenings soaking and did after my C-section and I never even saw a stitch.
No AF here, maybe it was ovulation cramping I was feeling. Have either of you had 'lighting crotch/fanny daggers' since your op? I had some for quite a few days this week and was convinced it was my period returning but nothing yet! Have you done any more tests @Sammyclaire22? Bet you're hoping all the hcg goes quickly x

Mumlili9 · 04/03/2020 20:33

@Springandsummer123 yes I'm bathing but nothing yet. As for the lightning crotch thing yes I have it all the time. I googled it but found nothing on it.
@Sammyclaire22 I okay just being my usual inpatient self. How are you feeling?

@Mumlili9 ah so good to hear you have it too (sort of!) maybe it's our system just getting back to normal.
I too googled but could only find stuff about it in early pregnancy which wasn't helpful.

@Springandsummer123 when you had your surgery did you have a d&c at the same time. I did and wondering if its from having my cervix pulled open

@Mumlili9 not entirely sure to be honest!i didn't think I did but now wondering how they got the tube out! How far along were you?

@Springandsummer123 I was 7+4 weeks. I believe they take it out through one of the incisions. I stupidly watched an op on YouTube. It was not a wise decision at all it totally freaked me out. And after watching that it's a wonder we recover inside of 6 months. My advice do not watch it ever xx

@Mumlili9 how come you needed a d&c? Yes if I'm honest it does freak me out thinking about what happened when I was under. Definitely won't be watching! Does the video say it takes 6 months to recover fully inside then?

Report
Sammyclaire22 · 05/03/2020 14:34

@mumlili9 was your d&c for the ovum you mentioned? I don't think I had one as there was nothing in my uterus for them to clear?

I wouldn't/ couldn't watch a video. Stuff like that gives me panic attacks knowing thinking what might have happened to me when I was under. I had a really bad one the morning after my surgery, Ironic given that I work in healthcare lol. I even got the hospital to agree to no drapes if I needed a cs with my dd! (Fortunately had a home birth instead)

I think nurses will remove anything stitch wise if they are starting to cause problems. You can always ask them to have a look?

I'm ok, not done any recent tests as they were all negative sunday/Monday. Still bleeding and feeling a bit fragile and sorry for myself today, probably just my hormones balancing out and I have an infected wisdom tooth and me and my dd have a cold so not had much sleep or rest this week! But we managed swimming today which did us both good to get out and see friends.

I would guess the d&c was for that? Really glad you are getting them seen, it feels so much better once they arnt tugging anymore. X

Ah yes I remember you saying @Mumlili9. Could the nurse remove any stitches for you? Where abouts in the UK are you girls? I'm in the SE - I know each hospital do things slightly differently x

How is everyone? Good news this end - I started my period this morning. 6 weeks to the day since the op, I'm so relieved as I was starting to get worried.
So looking forward to tracking and TTC again now, hope all is well with you guys. x

All ok my end. I ovulated a week later than normal so in early days of my tww now. That's one thing for all this drama, it's a good distraction!
How are you doing?

Springandsummer123 · 21/03/2020 14:18

I've used the clear blue digital ovulation tests and it's showing I'm high fertility now. So really pleased to see that my hormones are doing the right thing at least!
Slightly worried about if we should continue to TTC at this worrying time. Half of me wants to crack on knowing it probably won't happen for several month and half of me thinks we should wait!!! Very torn! Good luck with your TWW! How are you @Mumlili9?
X

@Springandsummer123 hi I think I got my first af this morning but not sure it's more like pink/brown spotting. Not really sure what to expect now. I had really light AF's before this so I hoped it would be a bit heavier now but it seems not to be.
But the DH says we can try now but I'm a bit scared tbh

It is scary, and I don't think there is a right answer really. We are still trying as it's realistically going to take us a while, fertility support is likely to stop for the foreseeable (ivfs have been cancelled etc) so will just let fate decide really. I had a home birth with my first so plan hopefully to do the same next time all being well.

Do you do any tracking @Mumlili9?
Good luck with your fw @Springandsummer123

@Sammyclaire22 yes I do opks and bbt. I use Fertilityfriend.com to track everything I can. And premom to read and record my easy@home opks.
