TTC after pregnancy loss - Thread 34 - huddle up and bring on the BFP's

BunnytheBlueWhale · 23/01/2020 09:23

Welcome to the 🐧 huddle. This a safe place to give and receive support for everyone who has experienced the loss(es) of a pregnancy or baby. Pregnancy and child loss is one of the most difficult things we can experience and it can also be the most lonely time too. I hope you find this thread to be of some comfort.

I have found so much comfort from the lovely ladies on this thread and I’m hoping for lots of BFPs in 2020!

@BunnytheElephant thinking of you today, hope your able to mark your little girls birthday in a way that feels right.

BunnytheElephant · 13/02/2020 14:54

I haven’t RTFT yet but thanks to those thinking of us and our baby girl. We have been to the garden centre to buy some flowers and a cute ornament for her grave and we plan to make a cake for her when her home. DH and I are ok but I still feel annoyed with him. Then again I still feel a bit angry at the world and upset so that could be part of it x

Mumlili9 · 13/02/2020 15:08

@BunnytheElephant you're feelings are totally expected hun. Sending you a vertual hug and hand hold

VenusStarr · 13/02/2020 15:33

Sending you lots of love today @BunnytheElephant ❤️ go gently xx

@Mumlili9 I'm sorry I don't know about the hcg, I have never had my bloods tested. It took about 2.5 weeks for me to get a negative test after my first loss and my period arrived a couple of days later than usual. Hoping this doesn't drag out for you xx

turquoisebaby · 13/02/2020 15:33

@Mumlili8 back in December my HCG levels were 7000 and i had a negative test around 2.5 -3 weeks. Sorry to hear everything your going through.

SunStruck · 13/02/2020 15:36

@BunnytheElephant thinking of your DD, you and your DH tonight ❤️

@Mumlili9 it took me more than 2 weeks. How are you feeling? I hope RMC is taking you more seriously now and that you get more tests!

@venusstarr how are you? Dark OPK sounds promising! It's good you don't have to wait too long for everything to go back to "normal" so you can try again. You caught so quickly after your op, I think there's a good chance for a natural conception and pregnancy (although it's great you have the IVF back up option!).

Mumlili9 · 13/02/2020 16:25

Just thought I would share with you ladies.
When I was speaking with midwife on the 6th I mentioned having chemical pregnancies and she said she doesn't believe in them, she said if you get a positive hpt and then bleed it's a miscarriage no matter how long it lasted. She said I should always ask a doctor to update your file every pregnancy. So she's updated my file to 9 miscarriages. It's interesting because I told her what Google says about cp's and she said that's just an out dated term for early miscarriage.

I found this it's quite interesting

MissSparkles81 · 13/02/2020 20:07

@bunnytheelephant thinking of you today lovely lady.

I feel a bit guilty for coming on and moaning when so many of you are going through difficult times this week. AF due for me tomorrow and im fed up. Been cramping since 8days po and just want it over now. 😔

MOGMOGMOG85 · 13/02/2020 20:31

@BunnytheElephant take care xxx

@MissSparkles81 you're allowed to feel rubbish. Atm I'm sad until I'm a few days into my period - every time :(

I had my gynaecology appointment today - the consultant was hopeful about my chances of conceiving again etc which has really put a spring in my step. He said it may just take longer because of the fibroids, but says they definitely did not cause my miscarriage. I hope I can hold onto the positivity I was feeling after the appointment!

TerribleImagination · 13/02/2020 20:44

AF arrived for me today. Gutted. Finding it hard to believe you’re more fertile after a miscarriage, cos it really doesn’t seem that way! 😢

MissSparkles81 · 14/02/2020 06:47

@MOGMOGMOG85 thank you hun ... did another test this morning and as expected BFN 😔

I never used to get cramps this bad before my mc ... it was usually the day or 2 before AF started.

Happy Valentines Day everyone ❤❤❤

VenusStarr · 14/02/2020 08:34

Thanks @SunStruck my opks got lighter again which I'm pleased about as didn't want a super early ovulation. Hope you're OK.

@MOGMOGMOG85 glad your appointment went well and you're feeling more positive :)

@MissSparkles81 I'm sorry about the bfn ❤️ be kind to yourself today

I'm sorry af arrived @TerribleImagination even when I'm expecting af I still struggle. X

Thanks for sharing @Mumlili9 I did pop into my GP to update my notes. Hope you're OK today x

@BunnytheElephant ❤️❤️

Dh sent me a Tommy's story the other day and said is this us? 💔 They had numerous miscarriages and eventually discovered she had raised nk cells and got treatment and now has a baby. Dh is convinced we need to explore this before anything else. We've already ttc this cycle and with ovulation imminent hoping we can do this over my next 2 cycles. So the new plan is private tests for nk cells, then reassess.
Currently impatiently waiting for the clinic to reply.... 👀 👀

Happy valentines day everyone 💞❤️

avocadoincident · 14/02/2020 09:16

@TerribleImagination aunty flo is a right bitch. Hugs to you today. Start of a new chance now. X

TerribleImagination · 14/02/2020 10:33

@avocadoincident Thanks lovey ❤️ She is definitely that!!

JuniperAndRose · 14/02/2020 11:16

just checking in ladies.
@Mumlili9 that is very interesting from the midwife. I'm glad that she has updated your records, it sounds like it might be a good step forwards.

@VenusStarr i hope that you hear from the clinic soon. Having more tests and more knowledge, even if it's just ruling something out, sounds like a good approach.

@TerribleImagination hugs to you today. On to a new cycle x

Do any of you take your temperature to track your cycle? I have been using Natural Cycles. I normally get a sharp temperature dip the day before ovulation, just for one day, then ovulation and the temp rise. Natural Cycles was predicting that I would ovulate on Monday (CD13). I got the temp dip on CD 14, but since then no temperature rise. My temperature has hovered well below the coverline for 4 days now - it hasn't returned to the normal levels for the first part of the cycle, but is still really low. Has anyone experienced this? I'm wondering if I'm not going to ovulate at all this cycle.

fnej01 · 14/02/2020 11:49

Hello ladies

I still read this thread all the time. Very sad to hear of your further losses @venusStarr @Mumlili9

@venusstarr just wanted to say I was diagnosed with high NK cells (as well as APS) by the Coventry clinic Professor Brosens. I paid £540 for 2 uterin

fnej01 · 14/02/2020 11:51

Uterine biopsies and a consultation and I had high NK cells both times. They prescribed steroids and progesterone

I think this was a game changer for me x

VenusStarr · 14/02/2020 12:53

Thank you @JuniperAndRose the clinic have replied 🙏 all being well I can get booked in on my next cycle. Kind of wishing we hadn't started ttc this cycle, although think I'm a bit off ovulation as had creamy cm this morning 🤔 feeling hopeful for the first time in a long time. Will have a chat with dh later about not continuing trying this month so that the chances of pregnancy are small. You can't have the tests until you've had one full cycle after a mc.

I do measure my temperature too. I've not experienced what your describing but it could be that your ovulation is slightly delayed for some reason? I get a dip just before my rise. My second pregnancy was textbook but last month's was a bit non-committal so it wasn't as clear I'd definitely ovulated. I'll attach some pics...

VenusStarr · 14/02/2020 12:57

Don't know if these pics help @JuniperAndRose? I'm cd9 now and had a rise this morning but definitely haven't ovulated yet.

If anyone wants me to share the implantation clinic details, send me a message.

Hi @fnej01 good to hear from you :) and good to hear that you've been to the Coventry clinic and had good support. I think it will also help having the consultation so we can have a second opinion. I bet you don't have much longer left do you? X

Mumlili9 · 14/02/2020 13:45

@VenusStarr what's is the implantation clinic hun?

VenusStarr · 14/02/2020 13:56

Hi @Mumlili9
They do 2 biopsies (one each cycle) 7-10 days after ovulation and they measure your endometrial lining. If there are raised nk cells it suggests that your body is fighting the pregnancy. You can be prescribed steroids and other meds to support the pregnancy (@fnej01 - that's the jist isn't it?)

This is the article dh sent me. He's definitely been more affected after this last one (I'm a bit more numb) but he's convinced this might be our issue.
