ttc after mc July/August 2007 - shiny new thread as the other was full

winemakesmummyclever · 30/08/2007 11:29

Hi,

I hope nobody minds me adding a new thread, but the other wouldn't let me reply.

LadyLush - Sorry to hear about your loss . In answer to your question, I thought I was around 11-12 weeks pg, but the scan said the baby was around 8-9 weeks. When I'd had the ERPC, the gynae reg said the uterus was around 14weeks and the baby was still 8-9 weeks.
I'm sure things do get better with time, but things are still pretty raw and new for me. I'm glad things are getting back to normal for you (and hopefully for others too).

Oh and ILTS - let's totally start a new thread that we can all stay on - whether we're TTC, got BFP, or whatever

kensgirl · 13/09/2007 18:22

Make mine a double! Will email you tommorrow, if thats Ok.
I'm happy to eat cake at any time, can we all come to Italy with you, and eat Tiramisu there..?

Great news Ellie!! How many weeks are you now?

iliketosleep · 13/09/2007 18:30

oh katendmom im so pleased your back and everything went ok for you, im so very happy you didnt have to go through what i did the other night, honestly LISTEN to what she says everyone lol

wheelybug · 13/09/2007 19:13

oh blimey - so many posts to catch up on.... Apologies for anything i miss.

Kateandmom - glad all went as well as possible in the circumstances. Take care of yourself.

ILTS - sounds like you've had a horrid time. Am pleased to hear the worst is over.

Thoughts too, to everyone else going through it all at the moment.

Gilly - sorry to hear its CD1. I too go through all those thoughts of dates and thinking it will happen because similar things happen to when I conceived before. Perhaps we're all going slowly mad. Hugs winging their way to the BM (How's the new job going btw ?).

Hi Torres - nice to hear from you, take care - will keep my fingers crossed for you that everythign turns out fine. I haven't started acupuncture yet - DD doesn't start nursery until Monday and my head is taken up with that and the fact we are having fairly major work done on our house and I don't think I want to start stuff like that whilst my house is full of builders and mess (I know that probably doesn't make much sense, as it won't occur in my house but I guess I need to get through the work before I can concentrate on this). But, I have stopped drinking since coming back from hols (only 3 days but feeling proud of myself), DH has cut right down too. Need to read a bit more of Zita West to get to grips with what we need to do though. I desperately need to start exerciaing too.

Ladylush - glad the appointment went ok and that there don't seem to be any major problems. Are you feeling positive ?

Sorry to hear about the pox Littlebitshy - dd had them in June and she was basically fine too but I went slowly insane stuck in the house for so long... but am pleased its now over and she won't get it again.

Hello Kensgirl !

Ellie - glad to hear the good news, keep us posted and try and relax.....

Try and have a relaxing evening everyone.

katendmom · 13/09/2007 19:20

Thank you girls Feeling more relaxed now... But you know how we say worrying never stops?

Well it only took about 2 hours for me... and now I am back in a "worry world" ~ what will blood/ gene test results bring back? Did this baby have DS too? If so, what to do next? The worst part is that it will take 4 weeks to get these results back.

I better take a chill pill now or I will be a mad woman by the time results come in

EllieG · 13/09/2007 20:04

Am 9+1, which is further than I thought I was. So still could go, but I am trying to stay positive.

katendsmom - go and have some wine and/or chocolate. You've been through the mill lady, try to relax x

cricri · 13/09/2007 20:41

Well, how about this - I was sat at the hospital waiting to see the doctor for my bloods and was starting to get desperate for the loo and once in there I discovered that the process had started naturally! I never did get to see the doctor as after 1h30mins of waiting I was told that there was a change of shift and that the on-call doctor was in theatre so they didn't know when I'd be seen. Don't you just love the NHS! So I decided to come home and call them later.
I've just called them and they said to see how things go over the weekend (!) and to give them a ring on Monday, but obviously before if I have any concerns. The ERPC is still scheduled for Tuesday morning, but I'll be assessed on Monday to see if I still need it.
I'm panicking a bit after reading your posts about natural mc, but at the moment it's OK. Just a bit of bleeding and some cramping.

Lcy · 13/09/2007 20:44

Hi everyone - I am having a rubbish day. Woke up feeling really low and day just got worse. Work was really stressful and nearly cried on numerous occassions. Now i think i have (TMI) thrush - i havent had it for 5 years! Also getting really achy pains - but ovulated four days ago - rubbish - think i may just go to bed

Lcy · 13/09/2007 20:45

Sorry cricri, we crossed posts i hope you are ok. Sorry for being a misery!

katendmom · 13/09/2007 20:50

Cricri, wait a minute - did I read it right? The on-call doctor was where? In a theater? Are you kidding me?!

This is ridiculous! I don't know where this place is (taking in UK?) but after reading so many complaints about it I think it should be reported! They're just not safe!

Ok, I am not making you feel any better but listen - you're doing the right thing by relaxing. Many-many women experienced nothing but uncomfortable cramps. Make sure you have pain medications handy and your DH/ DP near by, just in case.

It's not a scientific fact but my guess - taking the pill MIGHT make symptoms/ pain a bit stronger than going a true natural way. I think that since the pill MAKES the body to progress faster - it's worsening the symptoms. I have heard from many girlfriends who had their labor induced that contractions were much-much worse than the ones that naturally occur. With that said - I am keeping my fingers crossed for you and keep me posted ok? (I am in USA so it is only 3:48 in the afternoon - keep posting if you need somebody to talk to and I will be keeping an eye on you).

Do go to the hospital if you get uncomfortable, don't wait until you are in a lot of pain. Not saying that you will be, just saying IF!

Triggles · 13/09/2007 20:52

Lcy - sorry you had such a bad day. Hope you're feeling better soon.

cricri - we were told that gentle exercise (like relaxed walking) would help move things along for natural m/c if you're looking for that. hope it all goes well for you this weekend.

sweetkitty · 13/09/2007 20:53

cricri - don't panic, if it is starting naturally theres nothing much you can do about it, get some good painkillers and loads of sanitary towels. Spend tomorrow in bed if you can and want to, or on the sofa with some good movies. Get your DH to spoil you. Mine started naturally and it wasn't pleasant but I got through it even with two toddlers to look after and you will too.

Lcy - sorry you are havning a crap day, have an early night and tomorrow can only be better. take care x

EllieG - great news about the bean keeping everything crossed for you x

WMMC - will you just STOP NOW you are making me so with tales of swanning off to bars!!!

kateendmom - glad the D&C went as well as these things can, time to put your feet up for a few days now.

Triggles · 13/09/2007 20:54

I think cricri was referring to the doctor being in theatre as in surgery/operating room.

Sunshyne · 13/09/2007 20:55

Hi there everyone. I'm new here and trying to find my way round after a glass of wine to try and cheer myself up as there is no chocolate in the house

Triggles · 13/09/2007 20:56

Welcome Sunshyne. No wine or chocolate here either, much to my disgust. I'm not sure I can put together the energy to move without one or the other.

Sunshyne · 13/09/2007 21:01

Hi Triggles,

I cant' believe how many people are on here tonight is it always like this ?

Cricri - Have you been give any Tramadol by the hospital/doctor. I found that really works to stop the pains.

good luck x

Lcy · 13/09/2007 21:02

I have no wine but do have chocolate - if you we lived on the same street!

Sunshyne · 13/09/2007 21:03

Lcy - what a party we could have I am in Cardiff in South Wales are you far away ?

Lcy · 13/09/2007 21:03

Lcy on Thu 13-Sep-07 21:02:00
Eeek - try again: I have no wine but do have chocolate - if only we lived on the same street!

Lcy · 13/09/2007 21:04

North Wales!

Sunshyne · 13/09/2007 21:06

Shame North Wales is a bit far for chocolate I am sure there is a Spar closer. I think we should all get together and have a mumsnet party everyone on hear sounds so nice. It is lovely to be in the company of such fun supportive people.

Triggles · 13/09/2007 21:07

Can tell I'm feeling blah and tired - watching Hells Kitchen, so I can WATCH someone with wine and chocolate. It's the closest I'm going to get right now.

Sunshyne · 13/09/2007 21:08

Sorry Triggles I didn't even think to ask how many weeks are you ?

Lcy · 13/09/2007 21:08

I am not drinking wine because on 2 week wait - i miss it!!!

Sunshyne · 13/09/2007 21:09

What is a 2 week wait Lcy ?
