TTC after miscarriage - February 2020

Hi to anyone reading 👋🏻

This is a thread for anyone TTC / testing in February, after a miscarriage.

I’ll start off with intros! I’m 37 and my first pregnancy ended in miscarriage at 5 1/2 weeks in December. I TTC straight afterwards, but AF found me, so here I still am on this crazy, frustrating, rollercoaster of a journey!

I joined the January thread after my miscarriage and it’s been amazing to go there and chat to other women who know how you feel.

So for anyone joining this, I’m so so sorry you find yourself here, but you’re in good company ❤️

Hi @AlviesMam,

Thank you. I dont have anymore line tests left, I only have digital. I just went to the toilet and wiped again and it's not there.

I'm just praying everything is okay. I feel like i cant go through this again 💔

Did you test this morning my lovely? The line looks great to me 💗

AlviesMam · 25/02/2020 19:21

@StephyRose I know a few friends that spotted light pink when wiping and it's more normal than anything to worry about, don't loose hope!

It's a good line but worried that it's not strong enough for being 6 days late! 😢 I'm going to retest tomorrow and I have a blood test Friday.

It absolutely pisses me off this unknown ... like haven't I/we already been through enough and I get a faint line and no period so to me that's a Maybe you are maybe you aren't?! It's fucking torture! Life is fucking cruel. I feel like I'm getting depressed. I hate my body it's failing me

StephyRose · 25/02/2020 19:25

I hope so lovely, thank you for listening. 💗

I feel you and I understand you and I feel that you have been through it to a much harsher extent than I have so I can imagine how low you are feeling. ❤ I'm going to give you the same advice you have given me - dont lose hope. There is a rainbow out there waiting for us. 🌈🌈

AlviesMam · 26/02/2020 14:14

Test line stills medium pink but not as dark as control line. I've no bleeding, no cramps and just the general early signs of pregnancy such as gas etc.

I'm going to docs on Friday for blood test.

Is there any hope for me?

Why isn't my line going darker , I'm 7 days late. 😔 it's torture this!! Why is life playing tricks on me.

Just need a vent xxx

Anny27 · 26/02/2020 14:32

@AlviesMam I am confident that you ovulated late 🤞🤞

If something was wrong and the tests were indicating that, I would have expected you to have started bleeding by now as chemicals happen very quickly after tests start to fade.

Really hope everything is okay at docs!

@StephyRose how are you getting on lovely?

9dpo and just waiting till AF is late (hopefully!!!) To test

AlviesMam · 26/02/2020 14:36

Based on my flo app when do you think Ive ovulated if I'm just getting light positives and I'm 7 days late...I wouldn't class them as faint but they aren't dark ...

Xxx

Do you have a pic of your tests?

It's hard to know when you ovulated without OPKs or temping but this cycle I ovulated 10 days late!!! So it's possible

@AlviesMam

AlviesMam · 26/02/2020 14:42

Well I did opks near my original ovulation date which were negative!
Below is a pic of yesterday's test and the other from Sunday's test (Sunday is clear blue)

@AlviesMam that FRER looks like my last pregnancy test (at 12dpo) and I didnt question it just took it as a clear positive :D and over the next few days I got clearer positives on cheaper tests

I would say it's looking good

AlviesMam · 26/02/2020 15:01

Was that when you ovulated 10 days late?? @Anny27 xxx

AlviesMam · 26/02/2020 15:27

@Anny27 ah sorry just seen it was this cycle xx

Anny27 · 26/02/2020 15:34

@AlviesMam no that was from a "normal" cycle

If you got negative OPKs around your usual ovulation time I am convinced you ovulated late and your tests are absolutely normal!

AlviesMam · 26/02/2020 15:41

@Anny27 if you look at my flo I last DTD on the 10th. If I ovulated after that would it still catch. 2 weeks from the 10th brings me to 24th March which was the day after I had a faint positive with clear blue. So confused xxx

FireflyGirl · 27/02/2020 08:00

It's gone a bit quiet on here - has everyone moved over to the new thread?

Have you tried testing again, @AlviesMam? Are the lines any darker?

My lines are getting darker, but I've had some brown discharge which I had with the MMC last year, so that's made me feel quite sad this morning.

Is there a follow on thread from this one for people with a bfp? I can't seem to find it, and feel bad talking about my worries on the TTC thread.

Michette · 27/02/2020 10:02

@FireflyGirl don’t feel bad!

I mean my experience in pregnancy isn’t the most extensive and the only two times didnt go pst 7 weeks so my advice won’t be the most helpful but i can say that many doctors told me that spotting is normal even bleeding heavily can happen and baby will be fine!
I have seen it myself in hospital each time. The bleeding isn’t always a bad news!

But i understand how worrying it might be, i would also go mad with worries if it happened again :/

Why dont you set up a group on the pregnancy thread for the BFP?

I saw a post from @StephyRose who had similar concerns... how are you getting on btw? Has the spotting settled ?

Good luck guys xxx

There is a thread for those who were on the january board! So either set up a Feb one or join theirs (BS9790 has :D)

gizmo167 · 27/02/2020 10:25

Hi, I really hope all works out for you both @FireflyGirl and @AlviesMam, sticky dust for you both!!!

I'm CD31 today and still no signs of AF, first month after the mc and I dont have a clue whats going on, I dont have any sore boobs at all which I ALWAYS have pre AF, have had some AF type cramping and expected AF to come but now starting to wonder if I didnt ovulate at all :(

Whiffle77 · 27/02/2020 10:38

Dont feel bad @FireflyGirl we all understand!

Brown spotting is usually fine. It's just hard for all of us to remember that! If you are concerned then try and see your doctor, the trouble is they cant do very much at this point in time.

It will take some time to get your cycle back to normal @gizmo167 but I know it's hard to be patient.

StephyRose · 27/02/2020 13:59

Hi everyone,

I don't want to move other to a pregnancy thread yet as I feel like I'm tempting fate ... I know that sounds ridiculous. I stupidly posted in a Late October Babies thread on the PG board and feel silly for doing so.

Update:
Tuesday night had some bright pink spotting which scared the bejesus out of me. Managed to keep calm and went to my EPU yesterday morning who were amazing. They did a PG test which was positive and then a transvaginal scan.

I am 5 weeks and 4 days today so they could see a gestational sac and yolk (which is consistent with dates) and a second gestational sac ..... ! 😱 the sonographer said only time will tell if it develops into a second embryo but they have booked me in for another scan on the 09/03 so about ten days away.

Woke up today, felt fine, no more spotting. Went into work ... spotting. Went back to the EPU, they did a blood test and I'm going to have another one on Saturday just to ensure my HCG is rising. I feel fine otherwise but I am my own worst enemy and worry myself into oblivion.

I just feel so frustrated I can't ever seem to have a stress free go at this. I know this sounds really, really, really, REALLY obvious but I really dont want to miscarry again. 😓

The doctor today did say maybe the scan irritated my cervix.

Just want it to be the 9th already. Everyone please keep everything crossed for me. I just want to be a Mum. 😪

Anny27 · 27/02/2020 14:04

Omg twins!!!!! @stephyrose hopefully the 2and embryo grows that's so exciting!

Fingers crossed for a healthy pregnancy and I am glad you had some early reassurance.

Hopefully the spotting stops and everything starts progressing well

SunnySideUp2020 · 27/02/2020 15:04

@StephyRose that sounds good!
Yolk sac and second sac is also good 👍🏻
Congrats !!!

Whiffle77 · 27/02/2020 16:08

Ahhh @stephyrose that all sounds positive! And how exciting, twins! Keeping everything crossed for you.

FireflyGirl · 27/02/2020 16:09

@StephyRose I have everything crossed for you. Scan results sound very positive!

Every time I've had spotting, it's been made worse by having an internal scan and I was told that was normal - sometimes it can be 'pooled' and then dislodged during the scan.

I know what you mean about not wanting to post on an actual pregnancy thread yet. My EDD is 5 November (short cycles), and I started a post but chickened out.

Thanks for the support everyone, it's much appreciated. And thanks for the link to the other thread @Anny27 Flowers

BS9790 · 27/02/2020 17:56

I've been having quite bad cramps and pains, was seen in EPU yesterday where my blood hcg was taken, my levels were 1600 at 5 weeks exactly. Not sure if this is good or not, but apparently high enough for a scan so I'm booked in for an early scan at 5 weeks and 4 days on Sunday as they want to rule out ectopic Sad
Glad to see that your scan at 5week4days showed a sac/yolk @StephyRose... I'm terrified that they will say they can't see anything as it's so early, but this would just make me panic!!

Ibaadsmummy · 27/02/2020 19:12

I totally get not wanting to post elsewhere yet I'm probably 4 weeks so pretending it's not happening incase it's a chemical or bad news will wait another 2 weeks for AF. Best wishes for the scan on Saturday xxx
