TTC after miscarriage - February 2020

Hi to anyone reading 👋🏻

This is a thread for anyone TTC / testing in February, after a miscarriage.

I’ll start off with intros! I’m 37 and my first pregnancy ended in miscarriage at 5 1/2 weeks in December. I TTC straight afterwards, but AF found me, so here I still am on this crazy, frustrating, rollercoaster of a journey!

I joined the January thread after my miscarriage and it’s been amazing to go there and chat to other women who know how you feel.

So for anyone joining this, I’m so so sorry you find yourself here, but you’re in good company ❤️

@michette thank you, that’s what I thought. We’ve dtd every day for the last 6 days but that’s pretty normal for us. So will just make sure we carry it on for the next week or so.
Now I’ve seen this test I might even carry on testing over the next couple of days, see what happens.

Anny27 · 20/02/2020 11:29

@bs9790 cramps are totally normal in early pregnancy as your uterus is growing to accommodate your lovely October/novemver baby.

Pregnancy after loss is hard though I imagine

@Michette congrats on passing your driving test. My DH (29 nearly) needs to do his still haha!
And sorry that it was an evap! They are very cruel:(

Anny27 · 20/02/2020 11:30

@Moominmiss that looks like my positive ovulation test from a few days ago. Sometimes my go darker than the control line and sometimes nearly as dark. So might either turn more positive tonight or that might be your peak

Moominmiss · 20/02/2020 11:33

@Anny27 thank you. I think I might restart this afternoon/evening and see if there’s any change, but assume ovulation is nearly here. I think I’ll make sure we dtd every day from today through til Monday at least. I’m sure dp wont complain 😂
Will be a different tww experience for me this time around as I’ve never had a clue when ovulation happened before, I just assumed it was mid cycle, so will be nice to have a clearer idea!

shhhhs · 20/02/2020 11:44

@moominmiss you can always put a picture of the test into an app such as PreMom and it predicts the levels for you and says when you've reached 'peak'. I'm CD14 and no signs of ovulation yet 😣

Moominmiss · 20/02/2020 11:45

@shhhhs thank you! I’ll try that!!

Moominmiss · 20/02/2020 11:46

@shhhhs how many cycles are you post mc? I’m wondering if I am due to ovulate soon if my cycles will stay at ovulation around this time and this will be my new norm.

shhhhs · 20/02/2020 12:05

@moominmiss this is my first new cycle since miscarriage, so I've had one period since MC. My cycle lengths can be a bit all over the place so I'm just being impatient, I was hoping this would be more of my shorter cycles but maybe not. I'm using OPK so fingers crossed I won't miss it and ovulation happens in the next few days. Your stripes definitely look like you're almost there, exciting 😁

Moominmiss · 20/02/2020 12:41

@shhhhs so I put my test into that app and from what I understand I’m still a way off ovulation. T/C ratio (whatever that is) is 0.77 and from what I read in the Q&A section it needs to be at 1 or higher to be classed as positive. I’ve no idea how long it takes to go from mine to a positive but I’ll do another test later today and carry on testing for the next few days and hopefully see a peak.

Kona84 · 20/02/2020 12:43

@Moominmiss I googled it this morning because I’ve had 24 hours of what look like peak test results (test line darker than the control line) I found this post really useful to help understand. This is my first ovulation after my miscarriage I haven’t had AF yet.

Looking at your test I would say it’s close to if not a peak.

I scan my tests with the Premom app and the glow app, it then gives it a value.

premom.com/blogs/how-to-use-ovulation-tests/surges-and-peaks-gradual-onset

Moominmiss · 20/02/2020 12:55

Thank you @Kona84 it’s all so confusing!
I think the only thing I can do is just dtd for the next few days and hope to cover all bases.
I am going to test later on today though just to see if there is any change in the darkness of the test line. More for my own curiosity than anything else!
I scanned the test just now using premom and it gave it a value of 0.77 so not quite there according to that. According to that app and only having this current cycles info to go on it has me as due to ovulate in 2 day’s so will be interesting to see how accurate it is!

Kona84 · 20/02/2020 13:45

Mine as been all over place too

ChampooPapi · 20/02/2020 15:11

@Michette hey, sorry that you've now and a negative pregnancy test. Bugger. Looks like we are all having another month of ttc fun then 🙄Congrats on the driving test pass, you must be so pleased!. It's a bloody hard test so you have earned a weekend of serious relaxing and pampering I reckon.

SweetpeaOrMarigold · 20/02/2020 15:15

I'm back in my tww. 3rd time lucky? Last 2 were MC at 5.5 and 4.5 weeks.
This time I'm trying not to think about it and relying on my femometer app to tell me when to test. Had a really good peak ov so everything was timed right. I'm d5po.

Michette · 20/02/2020 15:20

@ChampooPapi thanks xx
Yes another month of TTC 🙄
DP was down after i told him for the BFN today so the joy of passing the test was short lived.
Also feeling down but it must be PMS!
This weekend would have loved some pampering but we have the mover coming so not gonna be that much rest 😄
Will try to relax though... much needed after this emotional week

How are you getting on?

CAM285 · 20/02/2020 16:13

Hi it's been 2 weeks since my miscarriage. I've been using an ovulation kit and according to that I haven't ovulated yet when normally I would have. Is that normal from others experience? X

Leok83 · 20/02/2020 18:25

@Moominmiss I’d def call those a positive! I found that when mine looked positive premom only scored me highest 0.79 last cycle and 0.63 this cycle. With BBT I know I def ovulated (plus I conceived last cycle so very obviously did!) so I think if they start going down don’t worry if it doesn’t give you a peak..everyone has different levels at the LH surge and obviously I don’t produce a massive amount but enough to trigger ovulation.

@Michette congratulations on passing driving test..sorry ur getting BFN and you had an evap..they’re cruel.

@BS9790 I can imagine the stress ur feeling. We really are all going to be robbed of the enjoyment with BFPs. Hopefully you can start to relax and enjoy it soon..the IC tests don’t show dark for ages either cause I thought I nearly had a BFN after MC on one but levels were still 200 that time!! Have you got the digital weeks ones? I think seeing that go form 1-2-3 weeks can be a lot clearer!!

@CAM285 sorry about ur MC. Cycles do tend to be off post MC, seems to be worse the later It is from what I’ve figured but not always the way. My cycle length has doubled (ov at CD35 rather than 16)..I had MMC at 9 weeks.

9DPO now, feeling nothing at all..have a family gathering this weekend so will test Sat to confirm what I’m pretty sure is a BFN so can have a few drinks with the family.

Moominmiss · 20/02/2020 18:31

Thank you @Leok83! I hate how stressful this all is.

I feel like before the mc I was happy enough just letting things happen as and when, and sort of went with the flow.

Now I second guess everything my body does or doesn’t do, I’m constantly looking for symptoms of this, that or the other!

And as you said if we are lucky enough to see another bfp we aren’t going to feel the excitement we did pre mc because anxiety and fear just totally takes over.

9dpo is really early. Keeping everything crossed that when you test at the weekend you get a lovely surprise!

CAM285 · 20/02/2020 18:33

@Leok83 thank you for your advice. I'll just DTD and testing. 🤞🤞

Whiffle77 · 20/02/2020 19:12

I'm having similar on opks and premom, it got a lot darker but still classed as low, and now is going lighter again! Hmm so I dont know if I've had my peak or whether it's still to come...not had my first period since MC though so was always going to be a bit of an odd one. Just feeling a bit sad and desperate!
Congrats on the driving test pass, and on the positive test!! I can understand you would feel anxious, that's very normal! I keep telling myself that I cant change the outcome either way...
Good luck to all those in 2ww, I'm trying acupuncture to try and help my anxiety

Leok83 · 20/02/2020 22:05

@Moominmiss thank you!! That would be some surprise 😁! Hopefully you catch ov soon!

@Whiffle77 if they came up and went down hopefully you did ov..that’s why I find BBT good cause it’s obvious from that I did after..otherwise would have been stressed i hadn’t based on low scores alone. I started accupuncture too after MC..how are you finding it? I’ve had 5 sessions so far, find it relaxing but hard to gauge if it’s working!!

BS9790 · 20/02/2020 22:43

@Leok83 yes I have a digital one, saving it for Saturday as that's when AF would be due. Then I've said I'll do them weekly on a Saturday to check the dates are progressing!

Today's cramps have been awful to be honest so haven't got much hope right now.

FireflyGirl · 20/02/2020 23:24

Congratulations on passing your test @Michette

I'm 9dpo, CD22, and having lots of period-style cramps. Could be implantation but I think more likely to be early AF Sad

Not due until Tuesday, so it's potentially going to be a long weekend!

FireflyGirl · 20/02/2020 23:26

Sorry to hear you're having bad cramps, @BS9790 Flowers

I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you.

Whiffle77 · 21/02/2020 06:44

Thanks @Leok83 that's what I'm hoping! I dont temp as I get up a lot in the night which I heard affects the result - plus I dont need another thing to obsess over!!!

@bs9790 cramps can be normal as well as a bad sign, but it is hard to remember that! Keeping my fingers crossed.
