TTC after miscarriage - February 2020

Hi to anyone reading 👋🏻

This is a thread for anyone TTC / testing in February, after a miscarriage.

I’ll start off with intros! I’m 37 and my first pregnancy ended in miscarriage at 5 1/2 weeks in December. I TTC straight afterwards, but AF found me, so here I still am on this crazy, frustrating, rollercoaster of a journey!

I joined the January thread after my miscarriage and it’s been amazing to go there and chat to other women who know how you feel.

So for anyone joining this, I’m so so sorry you find yourself here, but you’re in good company ❤️

@anny27 no I didn't get back into temping again but I think after this month I will. Cos it's getting so boring now. Just need to get back into remembering to do it really but I agree it's good know when you've exactly ovulated. It's a guessing game even with opks.
What cd are you?

TerribleImagination · 21/02/2020 09:20

So I’ve just found out that my sister in law is pregnant again (my nephew is 2) and is 3 months gone. I feel TERRIBLE that my initial reaction wasn’t happiness and was just the usual ‘oh great, someone else is pregnant and I’m not’ 🙁 She’s also due early August, and I was due the 12th... Oh well, I guess at least our family gets an August baby after all 🤷🏻‍♀️

@Leok83 oh and enjoying acupuncture so far, not sure my anxiety has improved much but we talk a lot as well which is therapeutic! Just expensive...

Ah @terribleimagination I think we all understand your feelings there! It's natural, dont beat yourself up...it is hard to see someone go through the same journey you should have been on though.

Anny27 · 21/02/2020 09:47

@TerribleImagination awwwh :( my SIL was pregnant when I miscarried but she was already 6 months so felt easier as I already knew she was pregnant if that makes sense. That's hard for you!

@MrsLBear I am 4dpo today! Will test if AF fodsnt arrive on 3rd march. Wbu?

Michette · 21/02/2020 09:50

@TerribleImagination that sucks.
I think that would also be my initial reaction... i was also due 12th august so i get it even more.
It is still fresh so as Whiffle said don’t beat yourself up.

@BS9790 sorry to hear your cramps have been bad, i still think it doesnt mean it’s going to end bad.
Good idea about digital test weekly.
Fingers crossed for you xx

TerribleImagination · 21/02/2020 09:55

Thanks @Whiffle77 @Anny27 @Michette
I knew everyone on here would understand ❤️ I’m so glad we can all vent about these things here!

@TerribleImagination I’m sorry. I know only too well what you’re feeling. My SIL announced she was pregnant too. She’s due 3 days before I would have been due 😔

Moominmiss · 21/02/2020 10:34

Took another ovulation test this morning. It’s way lighter than yesterday’s tests.
So I’m thinking either my body is still all over the place and they may get darker again at some point, or I started testing later than I should and didn’t catch my peak on a test. But I’ll never know. Thankfully we’ve dtd pretty much every other day, if not every day since af finished so hopefully if ovulation was earlier we still had a chance.
But I’ve seen all sorts happen with people’s tears so I’m not going to assume and will carry on testing and see if I get another high or peak at some point 🤷🏼‍♀️

Moominmiss · 21/02/2020 10:35

This mornings test is the light one, compared to one of yesterday’s darker tests

@TerribleImagination I know that feeling, when I told my mum I had miscarried my 17 year old sister decided it was the best time to tell me she was pregnant. I felt bad for crying about it.

Anny27 · 21/02/2020 10:39

@moominmiss I think you have ovulated! This is my progression and my ovulation was confirmed by my temps

I’m in my 2ww now as my OPKs are fading after my peak.
Due to the miscarriage my OVia app is still predicting period tomorrow but I know it won’t be the case.
I’m not certain we did enough to conceive this month but then keep reminding myself that we only had sex once in December 4 days before ovulation and we got pregnant so maybe we will be lucky again.
We last DTD 3 days before peak. We couldn’t make it happen on the peak day as my partner isn’t very well at the moment.

Lee637 · 21/02/2020 10:42

Hi we have bee try for some time now, took clomid for 2 cycles then skipped my last cycle - now I have had an incredibly odd last few weeks
slept together day before and 2 days before ovulation, had more painful breasts than usual for longer than a week - I am normally not that sore and normally only for a few days . I monitor CM so noticed brown show for 3 days , then got my light dark brown “period” which only lasted 24 hours - and now back to show. Boobs stopped being sore after I started bleeding. Had a migraine day before my 1 day “flow”

this is all very odd and abnormal. Did a test on the day before “flow - BFN.
I don’t know what to make of this - I had no symptoms at all with my son until 7 weeks but had a BFP at 4.5

anyone have anything similar?

Moominmiss · 21/02/2020 10:53

@Anny27 I hope you’re right. Would be nice to think we’ve already potentially dtd at the right time.
Your progression lines looked great! Makes me wish I’d started testing earlier so I could have had a better idea of what was going on!

TerribleImagination · 21/02/2020 12:11

@Moominmiss and @Koana84 🙁 that’s rubbish that both of you had to deal with that too! 😞

Whiffle77 · 21/02/2020 12:21

@Moominmiss we seem to be very in sync with opks!! Mine much lighter today too, despite never getting to peak. Who knows, but like you we have been very active, so shouldnt make too much difference

TerribleImagination · 21/02/2020 13:07

By the way for anyone (like me) who’s been unlucky this month and will be cracking on either TTC or testing / AF due in March, I’ve created a new thread here:

@Whiffle77 good luck! Would be lovely to see some bfp’s in a couple of weeks. I’m just going to make sure we dtd for the next few nights just to make sure, and then hopefully that’ll be this month covered!

Whiffle77 · 21/02/2020 14:29

@moominmiss good luck to you too! I will be glad of a rest after the next few says to be honest Smile

Whiffle77 · 21/02/2020 14:29

*few days

Ljm0101 · 21/02/2020 20:18

Well I'm out for this month AF turned up today, I suppose I need to look at it as a positive and hopefully when it's done my cycle will go back to a more normal length as today was CD37. X

Kona84 · 21/02/2020 20:24

@Ljm0101 sorry.
I hope your cycles go back to normal

Kona84 · 21/02/2020 20:30

1dpo and already symptom spotting. Had a bit of back ache today, I know it was from my work chair but can’t help thinking it’s a symptom
I’m trying to remember my symptoms from last time.
I think the first thing I noticed was painful boobs which I don’t get with AF.
I think my appetite decreased too and I had quite a few headaches. I wish I was more consistent with tracking my symptoms on Ovia

FireflyGirl · 21/02/2020 20:36

Sorry to hear that, @Ljm0101 FlowersCake

Cramps have settled today, though not completely gone. AF due on Tuesday, but I'm having my wisdom teeth out tomorrow, so I'm going to poas tomorrow morning 'just in case'.

A couple at work got married last summer, and announced their pregnancy today, along with scan photo. I couldn't go for a drink or a wee all day without someone talking babies. I had to hide in my office Sad

Leok83 · 22/02/2020 08:45

AF has arrived couple days early, not too disappointed as I didn’t expect great things given how out of whack everything thing was post MC. Good to move on from that last torturous cycle and hopefully next one back to normal and March is a good month. Best of luck to everyone left to test in Feb🤞
