TTC after miscarriage - February 2020

Hi to anyone reading 👋🏻

This is a thread for anyone TTC / testing in February, after a miscarriage.

I’ll start off with intros! I’m 37 and my first pregnancy ended in miscarriage at 5 1/2 weeks in December. I TTC straight afterwards, but AF found me, so here I still am on this crazy, frustrating, rollercoaster of a journey!

I joined the January thread after my miscarriage and it’s been amazing to go there and chat to other women who know how you feel.

So for anyone joining this, I’m so so sorry you find yourself here, but you’re in good company ❤️

@leok83 i doubt it... it s more uterus pain but just on the left side.
When i had the MC i had the same pain and they said my uterus had tilted to the left but should be back in place soon...

Anyway still getting the pain but less frequent so hopefully will be ok by tmrw.

Obviously i was hoping it was implantation but it was very different than implantation pain which felt more like period cramps last time.

we shall see on Saturday or Friday :)

Hugs @FireflyGirl x

Does anyone feel other half isnt as interested or bothered about ttc as they are do you guys feel you forcing your obsession into them, I feel at times it's only me who has been affected by this and his not even bothered and like I'm forcing him how do I discuss this without seeming like the bad person, or ungrateful or desperate. He says he wants another baby he wants to try but then just goes to to sleep. And forgets I even said I'm ovulating and let's try even after saying he wants to. I feel upset rejected and abit alone.

Bathwater · 16/02/2020 23:52

@Ibaadsmummy sorry I posted earlier and just been watching thread so I don’t get obsessive. But I remember after my 2nd MMC I was incredibly low and lost. My husband said he worried that TTC was putting too much pressure on me and he was concerned about the impact it was having on me. He’d never seen me as sad as I was. Everyone is different and I don’t know how you were/ have been but he could be trying to protect you both in an odd way?
Even now mine is cautious and is loathed to say which way is what, but he was mr positive before the first MMC, so he reigned it in massively.

Ibaadsmummy · 17/02/2020 00:03

@bathwater thank you for responding I'm scared I'm ruining out relationship but at the same time I dont wana miss my time slots I dont wana make him DTD if his not in the mood or his tired but cnt help feel upset n rejected when he doesnt but before mc I never thought twice about bedroom antics we did it whenever sometimes regularly sometimes with big gaps. Since ttc its changed the whole dynamics of things its hard

SweetpeaOrMarigold · 17/02/2020 07:58

Hi all, I managed to stay away for over a week while I concentrated on learning the art of BBT and OPK!
Femometer says I'm d2po and we dtd a lot this week, so fingers crossed. I'm determined not to symptom spot this time as it makes zero difference to the end result, last 2 months I have had symptoms, been pregnant and had MC at 5.5 and 4.5 weeks, so it's not real til at least 6 now.

@Cometa08 my GP was amazing, I had a load of bloods like thyroid, diabetes, liver and anaemia. My thyroid is borderline low, so I've started thyroxine whilst TTC. I've also been referred to recurrent MC clinic as I'm 38, just waiting for the letter.
@ibaadsmummy my OH is quite happy with the sex part 🙄 but isn't interested in the rest. He wants a baby and not the fuss and doesn't really understand how awful it is to feel your body is failing you.

ChampooPapi · 17/02/2020 08:54

Hey @SweetpeaOrMarigold, good to see you pop up on here and update, I can test in a week if no af appears over the weekend. Going to do a lot of mindfulness this week and try and be thankful for everything I have, positive thinking generally, though i am pretty certain I'll be trying in March as we only dtd like 5 times this month.

Just couldn't be arsed to do it any more 😆 what will be will be

Bathwater · 17/02/2020 09:01

@Ibaadsmummy it is incredibly hard as things take on a new dimension that they never had before. I know it feels like a double rejection (body and by partner).Look after yourself though, it is not an easy time. But we’re all looking for that rainbow and hope we all get it

SweetpeaOrMarigold · 17/02/2020 09:06

Thanks @ChampooPapi, good luck, it only takes once Wink

Cometa08 · 17/02/2020 10:12

@SweetpeaOrMarigold You said your thyroid is borderline low and you are going to take medication for it. How low is it? I'm still waiting for my results from Gp. In a previous reading I had 2.7 but nobody suggested me any drugs for it.
Hopefully the only reason you had those MCs is related to your thyroid and soon you will get a full term pregnancy. Smile

SweetpeaOrMarigold · 17/02/2020 10:51

@Cometa08 my T4 12.5 which is normal range but low end, however my TSH is high at 8.1. This mean my body is working really hard to keep it within normal range. So the GP said with my MC history its best to treat it. Plus pretty much all the women in my family on both sides have thyroid problems.
Its been borderline for years but they've never treated it.

Ibaadsmummy · 17/02/2020 11:05

@bathwater thank you x

Michette · 17/02/2020 11:48

Good idea @ChampooPapi
Mindfulness helps a lot...

9dpo and the sharp pain on left have almost gone just now feeling like light periods cramps.
Hopefully it’s implantation and not an infection...

I didnt want to symptom spot but it’s so hard when you have symptoms. The question is of what!???

@Anny27 how are you getting on?

Anny27 · 17/02/2020 11:52

@michette I only just got a positive OPK at cd23!!! In the past I have had occasions where I have had the odd longer cycle so guess it's just one of those times! Frustrating though haha. But did mean that the thrush cleared up and we were able to DTD a few times before ovulation!

Will you test early @michette?

ChampooPapi · 17/02/2020 12:03

@Michette sounds pretty positive, I know, I know....we arnt supposed to bring our hopes up to high as then when they are dashed it's harder but hey we can dream can't we. And those symptoms could be nothing but they also could be something, your aloud to get excited.

I can't wait to log on and see the bfp from this thread end of the month, there are going to be a few that's for sure 🌈👣

ChampooPapi · 17/02/2020 12:05

@Anny27 that's great! I really hope one of you guys are lucky, I feel like this week is going to be a good one for everyone. And then it's March and spring will be here, we are moving forward ladies 💪🤗

Michette · 17/02/2020 12:20

@Anny27 so it all worked out for the best at the end! Delayed ovulation but healthy for dtd!

I dont know if i should test early... i am worried that it will bring me down if negative.
And worried about CP too so might just wait until Friday!

@champoopapi i hope!
That being said it’s a recurring theme with me - around 8 dpo 😄

But hey as you say... we can dream a bit!

gizmo167 · 17/02/2020 12:58

Hi, wondering if I can join. Had an unexpected BFP but sadly had miscarriage at 5.5wks on 25 January. Totally unexpected pregnancy as I'm 41 and have pcos so didnt expect it at all! I have a DD (6) and been with my partner now for just over a year, we had been ntnp for the last 6 months

ChampooPapi · 17/02/2020 13:07

@Michette please wait untill the end of the week, don't do it to yourself, it's not worth it at all. Even Thursday, but today, big no no. Hold strong, we believe in you!

Ljm0101 · 17/02/2020 13:08

Hi
I've only posted once on this thread at the very beginning but I've got a lot from reading your stories. I'm really confused I would normally have a clockwork 29 day cycle. I began to miscarry on 17th January at 7 weeks. I am now on CD 32 with no sign of Af but also did a hpt yesterday and it was bfn. I know from the sounds of it a few people are having the same problems. I suppose I just want a bit of reassurance as I just really want to be pregnant again.
Xxx

Michette · 17/02/2020 13:43

@ChampooPapi yeah no you are right i won’t test until friday. That’s it.
Thursday got my driving exam so defo won’t be testing!

Friday morning it is!

Cometa08 · 17/02/2020 14:10

@Ljm0101 My cycle after the miscarriage was 35 days long (it is normally 25 days) and I believe I ovulated the 24th day (it is normally the 13th). Before the new cycle can start again the pregnancy hormone must go back to zero. The first day of miscarriage should not be considered like the first day of the period and the start of the new cycle. When the pregnancy hormone will go back to zero your body will start stimolating the ovaries to release an egg. It is tricky to find out exactly when you are going to ovulate, LH tests and bbt recording should help.

Ljm0101 · 17/02/2020 15:12

@Cometa08 thank you very much, I did a hpt after I finished bleeding to ensure I was negative which I was but I have no idea when I ovulated. Guess I will just have to wait and see, thank you so much for replying it's nice to know I'm not alone. Xx

Ibaadsmummy · 17/02/2020 15:13

Okkkk two weeks wait gonna start from today need to not stress and test early

Leok83 · 17/02/2020 15:45

@Ljm0101 @Cometa08 you can actually ovulate when levels low and not 0. I ovulated last Tuesday confirmed opk and BBT..shows clear temp shift. Had HCG measured on the Wednesday so 1 day after and HCG still at 10.7, so as long as levels very low it is definitely still possible to ovulate. From what I’ve seen 1st day of bleeding is considered as 1st day of cycle but don’t expect the cycle to be a regular one. Likely will ovulate later and cycle will be longer. I normally have 28 day cycle and ov CD16/17 and didn’t ov until cycle day 35 now since MC. Everyone is different so no set normal as far as I can see.

Michette · 17/02/2020 15:54

@Cometa08 @Ljm0101 @leok i also think first day of proper MC bleed is start of cycle.
And also ovulated 5 days after getting my first hpt negative so the ovulation had been gearing up even with pregnancy hormones!

That being said cycles after MC have been much longer and my first proper cycle after i ovulated at CD20 compared to bang on CD14 normally
