Hey! Just looking for some folks in a similar position to start a chat with.

I'm 34 and have been trying for a second child for 6 months. With my first, I didn't realise how lucky we were when we got pregnant in the first cycle with no real trying. I was 30 at the time. Our daughter has just turned 4.

This time, I tried the relaxed approach for a couple of months to start with and then resorted to opks and an app to give some guidance as to when would be a good time to try.

Anyway, after trying for 6 months with no joy, I'm beginning to feel a bit anxious. I can't stop wondering if there's a problem and can't stop googling!!

Please join if you're in a similar position and wanting to chat! X

Hello everyone! This month I've been doing "not not trying" so barely open the app! And I do feel more relax and not really count the days! Pheew.

Anyway! Oh my @Lnix massive congratulations!!! Oh you must be over the moon now! Hope you will have happy and healthy pregnancy! Your BFP story seriously gives me hope that it will happen to me at some point too! How is your DC take the news? Xx

Mrssendy · 29/02/2020 20:24

@Lnix I'm so sorry if this is too much of questions! But am I right that you did try accupuncture, SMEP and preseed this cycle? And if you wouldn't mind, do you have different symptoms this cycle? Again sorry for my question - but just really wondering! I'm panicking a little bit as this is our 11 cycles TTC. :( xx

Lnix · 01/03/2020 06:23

@Mrssendy hello! Thanks so much and I don't mind questions at all! Yes you are right, those are 3 things I did this cycle that I hadn't done before. SMEP was easier than I thought. There is a nice small ish smep thread on here which I found helpful. I also had acupuncture around CD 7 so about a week or so before ovulation. It was extremely relaxing. And yes the preseed was the last thing. I used it last month too but this month I put it up way higher than I did last month...sorry if tmi...but basically as high as the applicator would physically go without actually disappearing completely!

Symptoms wise I have had pretty much the same symptoms I have before AF. I had mild cramping and backache from 7DPO, a hormonal headache and sore boobs. These went on right up to when AF was due so I really, really thought I was out. Then once I was a day or two late the cramping lessened and went away. It was only when I was three days late that I was brave enough to take a test.

Wishing you all the luck Mrssendy! Thank you for your congratulations. Xxx

Hi there, I hope you don't you mind me joining this thread.

My son is 2.5yr old and I have justed started ttc.

Following the birth of my son I was on the depo injection and had my last one in May 2019 and my period returned in December 2019. The last two cycles have been 24days long. So this month we tried and based on my fertile window.

My period was due today but nothing has happened so far, I had spotting that was dark brown/black a few days ago but nothing since then. I also did a pregnancy test today and it was negative. I have had some mild cramping too. Does anyone know what that means?

Should I be using ovulation tests. What do people recommend?

Thanks

So i came off the depo jag and my periods never came back after 3 and half years and stupidly I thought I had been trying all that time feeling very depressed about it,thought it was never going to happen and felt crushed, went to the doctors and checked over a couple of months and I had not been ovulating, spoke to the nurse and she suggested going on mini pill cazerette for 6 months to regulate my cycle and get periods back after 6 months came off it and my periods came back and was regular as clockwork for 5 months fell pregnant on the 6th months my little girl is over 3 now, after I had her I went back on the depo as I didn’t think I wanted anymore kids but I was told to come off the depo jag 8 months ago as I had a smear test that did not come back clear which thankfully was clear next smear 6 months later so after depo I went back on the mini pill cazerette for another 6 months came off March 8th 2020 as me and husband decided to try for another baby and thought it could take a good while, got a period 5th April and did a pregnancy test 29th April “PREGNANT” so thought I would share to anyone who has been on depo provera jag it would be a good idea to go on cazerette for 6 months to regulate your cycle and seems to work a treat and save all the waiting about as didn’t think I would ever be a mother far less pregnant with my second I genuinely thought I couldn’t have children

Also I used the app tracker to figure out ovulation days and it was spot on fell pregnant same month I started using it

@Lnix did you manage to get pregnant?

Lnix · 28/03/2021 21:53

@Lilly200000000 YES! I am so happy and thankful to say we did - we now have a 5 month old little boy. The month we were successful we did SMEP (sperm meets egg plan - I think - some threads on here) and also I had a session of acupuncture. May have been total coincidence but the following month we found out I was pregnant. X

Anyone ttc second baby? And taking more time than the first?

GingerFox2021 · 03/04/2021 20:33

We are TTC number 2. DD was conceived in one go, so I was shocked. This time we are trying since September 2020, but properly trying probably a second month only. Let’s see if any news this April.

Lilly200000000 · 04/04/2021 03:59

Just started spotting. Period is here yet again! Giving up. This was the 4th cycle of trying 😞

Lnix · 06/04/2021 10:57

@Lilly200000000 aw sorry to hear that. It really isn't easy not to feel defeated - with my first I got pregnant just by being a bit lazy one cycle and thinking we'd get away with it. With my second we tried 'properly' with tracking and OPKs etc for around 7 months but didn't use contraception for a few months before that. I was out of my mind. I know every month feels like such a long time and the disappointment is so hard to deal with. X

@Lnix just bought an opk and will be using it with this cycle. Really praying this cycle is it :)

Lnix · 06/04/2021 21:37

Good luck @Lilly200000000! X
