Our other thread is getting quite long and I know they stop at 1,000 comments so thought I’d make a new one for us .
I am so sorry if I’ve missed anyone , just going by usernames I remember off the top of my head !
I’m currently 5 weeks pregnant (miscalculated and thought I was only 4+3). Going for an 8 week scan (I’ll be almost 9 weeks) on 25th Jan.
but I am really enjoying joining you on your journeys on TTC and you’ve all been amazing so I didn’t want to just say goodbye to the thread .
Please come on in if you’re new here , and join everyone on their journeys . I feel like we’ve been chatting forever but it’s only been a couple of months. What a roller coaster it’s been!

Anyway, as we were!

@CurbsideProphet let us know how you get on with the GP tomorrow. When do you go back to work?

I’m going to do my best to be optimistic. We’ve got a lovely holiday in two weeks and loads of evenings together before that so plenty of opportunity to DTD!

Will have to see what my cycle is like this month but I won’t bother testing while I’m on holiday. If no AF I’ll test when I get home. I’m gonna miss reading this thread while I’m away!!

WeeScottishWife · 05/01/2020 17:15

I was on one of the previous threads, getting ready to start TTC after my wedding after coming off the pill. Just wanted to drop in with an update - we managed to conceive in that first cycle after I stopped the pill! We're not quite sure on the date at the moment, because the date of last period is of course the start of my withdrawal bleed rather than an actual period, and I didn't test until about 6 weeks after the pill would have stopped 'covering' me, but I've got the dating scan in a couple of weeks time so we're excited to get a more precise date!

If anyone else is recently off the pill, or coming off, and is curious for more details, I was taking Lizinna (same thing as Cilest).

MGee123 · 05/01/2020 17:34

Oh @CurbsideProphet that wasn't the relaxing beauty session I was imagining!! Sorry! I'm fair haired and have always been grateful of how much that reduces maintenance! I hope your GP appointment goes okay too. How are you feeling today?

@Maddy0405 don't feel bad at all. My best friend announced her (very poorly hidden!) pregnancy just before Christmas. I am so unbelievably happy for her but also rather jealous and sometimes feel sad. We have only been trying since September but at times it feels like ages. I sort of assumed it would just happen easily as we are fit and healthy, and only 30. At times I feel like I resent my body as I work hard to look after it! It feels like it's letting me down! But then I try and remember all the contraception I have used and how much that must have played around with things, and try and cut it some slack! I think these rollercoaster feelings are somewhat normal. It's such an emotional time.

@WeeScottishWife congratulations! How exciting for you! I hope all goes well at your scan 😊

Maddy0405 · 05/01/2020 17:36

@weescottishwife congratulations 💐 💕

Maddy0405 · 05/01/2020 17:58

@MGee123 it really is! I’m grateful that we’ve got this space to vent!

Deep breaths, we got this and we can do it. Just got to be calm and positive!!

MGee123 · 05/01/2020 18:09

@Maddy0405 I'm glad too. My OH is really keen to conceive but doesn't want to hear about all the detail. He struggles with anxiety anyway, so the up and down nature of TTC isn't ideal for him. I'm finding reading and joining threads on here really helpful for me to have a space to think/talk about things. I'm feeling positive this cycle, so 🤞! Deep breaths indeed!

notalwaysalondoner · 06/01/2020 11:29

@MGee123 I know exactly what you mean, it’s frustrating as we’re only 30 and both very fit and healthy. I feel optimistic about this month as DTD three days in a row around ovulation, but then am worried as we haven’t done it since due to being away from DH for work then being tired! It’s such a bloody rollercoaster, you don’t want to get your hopes up as then the fall is harder! I think I’m 6dpo based on EWCM but didn’t test or temp this month so not completely sure. AF due on Sunday but think I ovulated a couple days later than mid cycle so it may be a day or two late. Just feel so ready!

I’m also in a position to be promoted in May this year, and it will involve a lot more stress, so the longer we take to conceive the more likely it is I’ll be adding an even more stressful job into the mix which is really not ideal. It would be nice to be going on leave a few months in so I can decide if I enjoy the job and if I want to stay after we have children (not a very family friendly industry in terms of travel and hours). But as we all know, we can’t control the timing, so this is just wishful thinking...

Liam2018 · 07/01/2020 18:32

CurbsideProphet · 07/01/2020 21:19

@notalwaysalondoner I know what you mean about timing. My job will likely disappear this time next year, as the whole service is under review. I can't move to a new job while we're ttc. I really want to have conceived by then. My employer only offers 6 weeks employer maternity pay before SMP. If my job goes and there's nothing for me to come back to I should get some sort of redundancy.

If only we could just click a button when we're ready and definitely be pregnant!

bubblyboo900 · 07/01/2020 22:14

@Liam2018 I see a faint like on the cheapy. I had a faint line on a test like that then a deffo positive on a clear blue. Fingers crossed 🤞🏻

Liam2018 · 08/01/2020 08:25

I think it was false, nothing on this mornings right?

TTC baby #1 Threat #2
CurbsideProphet · 08/01/2020 08:39

I'm sorry @Liam2018 I can't see a line on that one. How many days late are you? It might just be worth waiting a bit longer to get a definite.

notalwaysalondoner · 08/01/2020 13:51

I can’t see anything either @Liam2018 - how many dpo are you?

I’m 8dpo today, AF due on Sunday. No symptoms at all again... so don’t know what to think.

hopefulhel · 08/01/2020 19:53

I think I am out again this month. Usually have a 32 day cycle, was 30 day cycle last month. Spotting today at CD27, so think af is on its way

MGee123 · 08/01/2020 20:36

Sorry @Liam2018 I can't see anything either 😢

@notalwaysalondoner totally agree re timing. I think the old saying of there is never a good time is totally true! There may be a promotion opportunity for me this year too which would be bad timing if I was pregnant. And I'm part way through a masters degree. But we were keen to get started so thought we might as well just go for it!

@CurbsideProphet that is quite limited maternity pay. We've accepted financially this will be struggle but I think it would be whenever we did it to be honest! Dreading cost of childcare 🙈

I'm CD 11 today and supposedly in my fertile window according to Ovia. Not a hint of ovulation signs or positive OPKs 🙄 DTD every other day just in case 😂

Liam2018 · 09/01/2020 07:25

@bubblyboo900 i am so irregular I wouldn't class it as being late I'm currently on CD 37. I'm gonna leave it a week and see if af comes along

notalwaysalondoner · 09/01/2020 11:25

@hopefulhel keep us updated. I’m normally 26-27 days and it’s cd24 and I’m having small cramps. Hope it’s implantation and not AF but don’t have any other symptoms so not positive. Plus I was quite emotional yesterday so think it might be PMS. It’s month four for us so starting to get a bit impatient.

AF is crap at the best of times but when it arrives when you really don’t want it to it is so awful.

@CurbsideProphet that is limited - that’s the legal minimum right? We get 5 months full pay as I’ve been at my company for more than 3 years. We’re in London so childcare is insane - I’m not planning to go back full time but it will still be painful as we have no family nearby to do a day a week or anything.

CurbsideProphet · 09/01/2020 11:48

Yep the legal minimum. There's talk that they might increase it from 6 weeks to 12 weeks full pay. We'll see. I'm in the charity sector, so they're not obliged to provide more than the minimum. We're up in the North West, so it's cheaper way of life for us which makes it a lot easier.

notalwaysalondoner · 09/01/2020 12:59

AF has arrived 😢 I swear since we’ve started TTC my cycles are less regular - 24 days this month, 27 last month, 22 the month before. Before was fairly reliable at 26 days.

On the one hand thought it wouldn’t happen this month as DH was away in my supposedly fertile window, but we DTD on the predicted day of ovulation and three days after when I thought i had EWCM so thought maybe I ovulated late. Plus I didn’t temp or test this month and so thought being more laid back might help. Sigh.

Next month I’m going the other way - have clear blue ovulation tests, pressed, new vitamins for DH, Evening primrose, Q10, going to eat tonnes of pineapple...

hopefulhel · 09/01/2020 13:39

Af arrived in full force on cd27 which is quiet early for me.

MGee123 · 09/01/2020 19:43

Sorry about AF @notalwaysalondoner @hopefulhel 😢 it's a bugger whenever it comes. We're on cycle 5 and I'm getting impatient too.

I would get 8 weeks full pay then 18 weeks half pay, then SMP. I think I would be looking at going back after 6 months and am keen to stay full time, but think my salary would pretty much just cover childcare! Will work it out when we have to worry about it.

Still not a hint of ovulation for me - CD 12. I suspected I might have ovulated late last month and am paying more attention this month, so will be interested to see. We're on an alternate days DTD schedule regardless 😂

Maddy0405 · 10/01/2020 07:17

Morning ladies. Sorry to read about AF @notalwaysalondoner @hopefulhel 😢

Can I ask a stupid question - should you DTD every other day during fertile window or every other day throughout your cycle?! I’m not sure when my fertile window would be as I don’t have a regular cycle so currently I’m just DTD every other day (my husband thinks it’s Christmas!).

I had some blood tests done the other day to check my hormones and everything came back normal which is good. I’m being investigated for polycystic ovaries as my mum had it and my cycles are a little all over the place. I’m just waiting for a scan now to see what’s what but I expect to be waiting a good few weeks for that.

Not testing for ovulation and have turned my fertile window off my period app which might be controversial but I genuinely don’t think I can cope with getting so obsessed with it each month to then not conceive again! I don’t really get any signs of ovulation which worries me. I can’t notice any change in CM. We’ll see how it goes I guess.

8 days til my holidays so looking forward to that now! Thinking of you all 😘

CurbsideProphet · 10/01/2020 09:00

@Maddy0405 I think the NHS guidance is every other day from the end of AF. That's the best way really isn't it, as you aren't just focused for a 5 day block and feeling like it's a stressful chore. You don't want to dread DTD. I hope you get an appointment soon for your scan. At least you can feel like you're crossing things off your list.

I'm not sure what will be going on with my cycle this month after the chemical pregnancy, so I'm just trying to accept it for now and start again next cycle.

Maddy0405 · 10/01/2020 09:29

@curbsideprophet how are you doing? Did you see your GP? I hope you’re looking after yourself. I guess it wouldn’t be a surprise if your cycle was a little irregular this month. I hope you’re doing ok. You’ve been in my thoughts x
