Hi guys

Not sure about anyone else but i have found that that i have tried posting on various threads and sometimes your own post gets really lost which can be slightly disheartening. I thought i would start this thread for anyone who has just started their TTC journey and together we can share our thoughts and experiences.... i do ask that (not to be mean) that this thread is only for people who have just started their TTC journey to avoid disappointment for people who are way into their journey and who may be experiencing different things. My own story is that i came of the pill in September and have yet to get my BFP. I got my first positive on Saturday just gone and now im 1dpo. Be great to hear from anyone in a similiar boat! Xx

I will not assume that slight twinge was a symptom. I will not assume that slight twinge was a symptom. I will not assume that slight twinge was a symptom...

NotJust3SmallWords · 19/12/2019 19:08

Hi everyone, hope it's alright if I jump on? Smile

I'm TTC number 1 and I'm on cycle 2 after having the implant removed in September.

I'm on CD26 so am scheduled to have AF start tomorrow (or a BFP...but I don't think that's likely this month tbh, no symptoms at all). I've been using the clear blue opks and the first month got a smiley showing when I ovulated, but this month I never got one, so either the test didn't pick it up, I ovulated at a weird time before/after I was testing, or I didn't ovulate, who knows!

Good luck to everyone for the coming tww!

jenna30 · 19/12/2019 22:08

@EithneBlue hahhahahaha. Oh god. That was me a couple of days ago. Soooo over it now. Im already expecting af to arrive (even though i have awhile left yet).

@NotJust3SmallWords ooo you never know. Keep us updated with your progress and good luck to you too x

NotJust3SmallWords · 20/12/2019 08:51

@jenna30 thanks! Did a test this morning and a pretty resounding BFN, so guess I'll just wait for AF to arrive. Not too disappointed as I wasn't feeling too hopeful. Onwards and upwards to next month Smile

At least we've got Christmas now as a ttc distraction! I'm off work after today until the 30th, can't wait. Going out with friends this weekend so can at least have a drink with them and over Christmas I suppose.

My next fertile window supposedly entirely falls when we're visiting my in laws over new year, so not sure how much chance we'll have to DTD then!

Have you told other people that you're ttc? I thought I wouldn't but seem to have ended up blabbing to loads of people! Confused Couldn't keep it in lol.

jenna30 · 20/12/2019 09:06

@NotJust3SmallWords awh dear. Like you said at least you can enjoy Christmas and have a drink. You haven't been trying long so you can take some comfort there. Saying that, i have been trying since October (so not too long either) but it feels like i have been ttc for ages! Lucky you being off. I feel like everyone is off this Christmas except me. 🙄 i got too greedy with my holidays this year so have hardly any left to take. But so excited about Christmas and should be a good distraction. I have told a few people (mainly close family). i feel like the more people i tell the more pressure i would feel to conceive. So for now i don't plan on telling anyone else. I guess that why it helps having this group to vent and share experiences is great for me. 😀.

Hi ladies can I join please ?

I’m 30, dh 31
Ttc baby #1&2 (we want twins) but will honestly be happy with any healthy baby we can get in my tummy

I quit the microgynon pill in October. Messed around in November thinking it would just happen like magic. That didn’t work so now we are using the SMEP method. had a positive opk cd 11 yesterday, we have babydanced consecutively for the past 3 now 4 days counting last night.

My cm has been consistent since cd 9..going from super thick and egg-whitey (if that makes any sense) to less thick more watery but still stretchy this morning and yesterday.

Ive been on the pill for the past 13 years...I had no idea what cm was or even ovulation...my cm has changed in quantity, amount of days and definitely consistency since last month.

I’m feeling really self conscious about my opk reading positive... just overthinking and second guessing myself

Vipie · 20/12/2019 11:48

Hi looking for the same, some horrible girls in here, quite judgemental.

Lucy5546 · 20/12/2019 12:09

Hey ladies. How is everyone doing? I am about 4 DPO. Last night me and OH were out for dinner. As we were waiting for our table i came over all dizzy. Like i thought i was going to faint. I have never felt like that before. Now it could have been the due to me being starving at the time but i just thought it was strange. Anybody experience somethin similar??

jenna30 · 20/12/2019 12:51

@Lucy5546 if you have never felt like that it could be pregnancy sign 🤞🏽. I haven't experienced any symptoms yet. See how you get on over the next few days and if you feel anymore dizziness.

OP posts:
Lucy5546 · 20/12/2019 13:07

@jenna30 i was thinking it was too early for any symptoms. Im only max 5 DPO. Im not off the pill that long so it could be my body adjusting. I am trying really hard not to paytoo much attention to symptoms most are fairly similar to last month anyway. Just the dizziness caught me by surprise.!!

jenna30 · 20/12/2019 13:49

@Lucy5546 I completely understand. Its so difficult not to symptom spot. We're both 5dpo. 🤞🏽 the dizziness was an actual symptom. X

@Bfree3 hiya!! Over thinking is so normal and expected on this group! If you got a positive on your opk test and you dtd at the right time, you have done everything you can. Its hard not to over think but all you can do is wait and see what happens if it doesn't happen then you can take comfort in the fact that you only have just started ttc. It can take some women a couple of months to conceive so i wouldn't worry yet.

MrsH0692 · 20/12/2019 14:23

Hi. Hope it’s ok if I join in.

Me and my OH are TTC #1. Coming to the end of my cycle AF due on CHRISTMAS DAY 🤣

We got married in September and I stopped taking my contraceptive pill at the beginning of the summer, cycles fairly predictable so hoping I’ve predicted ovulation times well.

I’ve just started trying to use ovulation test strips which I’m so confused about. When’s best to do them?! I have the “FLO” app and try and do the tests when they predict my ovulation day.

Any tips or advice is welcome. ❤️

jenna30 · 20/12/2019 14:33

@sH0692 hi! So I was the same when i came of the pill. I had no idea when to start tracking ovulation. I have the flo app too. What i did this month which is the first month i started tracking properly was as soon as i finished my af ( and around 3/4 days after af finished) i started tracking. i know its quite early but because i wasn’t too sure of my cycles i didnt want to miss the peak. If you have an idea of your cycles i would suggest starting to track 5 days before the fertile days on the flo app. As you test everyday and you get closer to ovulation the lines begin to darken. I needed alot of strips which i bought beforehand off amazon (50 test strips for £c10) and they worked really well. Also in recommend testing 2 to 3 times a day to catch a LH surge. I hope this helps.

@MrsH0692 😂 i didn't tag you properly sorry! My response is below.

MrsH0692 · 20/12/2019 14:41

@jenna30 that’s great. So after AF comes and goes I can start a fresh really. That’s what concerns me is missing that window. I feel like I’m really overwhelmed and don’t understand any of it!! 🤣 where did you go to get information about CM etc, to know what to look for. Sorry for all the questions! Xx

Kimmid · 20/12/2019 15:23

Hi all

Hoping to join too, I'm super new at all this!

DH and I got married at the end of October, we were planning to wait a year for so before TTC but made the decision to start in January which ended up starting this month 😂 we didn't realise how difficult it can be so thought it can't hurt to start now.

I keep thinking I want to take it easy and not stress but I'm really worried it's going to take a toll on me. We had a time when I thought I might be pregnant about a year ago and got so excited and it broke my heart, and that was just a "scare" so god knows how I'm going to handle month after month of TTC!

I'm ovulating now, so DTD every other day, i started taking prenatals about a week ago. Not looking forward to the 2WW 😩

mimmi91 · 20/12/2019 16:02

Welcome @MrsH0692 and @Kimmid !
We're aaaall in the same boat here, it's overwhelming isn't it...!
Good luck on your OV days @Kimmid, fingers crossed it works on the first go!

How old are you? :)
I'm 28, and so is my DH!

Am only on CD6 today and am literally thinking of TTC every single minute... Can't wait to start trying ovulation tests... (have absolutely no idea when I'm due, I think my cycles are on the long side) Have told myself I'll do the first one of CD10, and hopefully catch an LH surge in the days therafter. I'm super keen on DTD a few days before ovulation (as well as on the day of) as supposedly sperm can survive for 5 days, so that should really maximise the odds, no?!
At the same time, I reaaaally wish I could be chill about this, as my husband seems to be... But I already feel like each DTD session will turn into a transaction for me hah!

On a less fun note, I leave on a family vacation on the 26/12 and may be sharing a hotel room with my little sis a few times, so wa may have to get very creative if OV comes then Confused

NotJust3SmallWords · 20/12/2019 17:26

@jenna30 I know what you mean, even though it's only been a couple of months, it feels like ages already. think it's probably being so keen for it to happen!

I'll try to keep it to myself a bit more I think. I'm undecided whether to tell my MIL when we visit this Christmas. She already drops hints about her future grandchildren...not sure whether telling her we're ttc would make her ask about it more or less tbh!

Vipie · 20/12/2019 17:42

I’m on cycle 4 I think it does feel like longer beer want it so bad

Vipie · 20/12/2019 17:43

Not beer a baby 😂 though I could have a tipple tonight

Lucy5546 · 20/12/2019 17:56

@jenna30 yes i said this month i wouldnt. But i have and i cant stop haha. Still feel slightly lightheaded if i am starving. Now i think i could be lacking in iron but not i have never felt like that before. Suppose i will just have to wait..

@MrsH0692 welcome and congrats on the wedding. I have no advice on OPKs as i dont use them. I do track CM and my cervix but you need to be doing this a few months to see whats normal for you. It can be quite difficult at times.

@Kimmid welcome and congrats on the wedding too. I have taken a some what relaxed approach to see if i can figure out my cycles so I know exactly how you feel.

Best of look everyone. Keep us posted!!

MrsH0692 · 21/12/2019 17:06

Hey guys..

So today my AF came.. 5 days early! I am usually fairly regular with 1-2 days out. I usually have a really awful time when my AF does come with bad cramps and very very heavy (sorry for the TMI). However this is just really light, no really cramps. Just tired bloated and a bit cranky!
So this is really odd. I mentioned it on another thread and someone suggested it could be implantation bleeding. Has anyone experienced this?

I’m going to see what happens tomorrow and maybe do a test after Xmas (if I can wait that long)

X

FirsttimeTTC · 21/12/2019 17:33

Hope it’s ok for me to join!!
Only started TTC in November but I’m still on cycle one I think as I’m late for AF! (By 14 days). Had a very very faint positive last week but I think it might have been a chemical, hence the no show of AF. So now I have to just wait.
Isn’t it so frustrating that we spend so much of our lives trying not to get pregnant and then when we finally start trying, we are overwhelmed by how difficult it actually is? Both physically and mentally.
I wish I knew how small the timeframe was for conception, I wouldn’t have put myself through some of the awful side effects I had from BC! 😂 would’ve just avoided DTD 😂

EithneBlue · 21/12/2019 17:40

I will not test at 8DPO. I will not test at 8DPO. I will not test at 8DPO. I will not test at 8DPO

In all seriousness I don't think anything is different this month - I don't feel pregnant so probably not going to happen. I feel a little like AF is coming but that's the same every month. Trying so hard not to think about it, but thinking about it.
