Hi guys

Not sure about anyone else but i have found that that i have tried posting on various threads and sometimes your own post gets really lost which can be slightly disheartening. I thought i would start this thread for anyone who has just started their TTC journey and together we can share our thoughts and experiences.... i do ask that (not to be mean) that this thread is only for people who have just started their TTC journey to avoid disappointment for people who are way into their journey and who may be experiencing different things. My own story is that i came of the pill in September and have yet to get my BFP. I got my first positive on Saturday just gone and now im 1dpo. Be great to hear from anyone in a similiar boat! Xx

@FirsttimeTTC you are not alone. My anxiety is through the roof the last few weeks. The first few weeks are very daunting. I have tried to set little milestones every two weeks or so. Or something different to look forward too. For example a cinema date with the girls. This has really helped me relax a little bit.
Try break the next few weeks down if you can. Feel free to pm me if you dont want to talk on here. Id be more than happy to help if i can!!

peachypetite · 28/01/2020 20:45

Such awful period pain today. A while back the GP referred me for a scan but it came back normal. This also doesn’t help me with my worries about conceiving.

FirsttimeTTC · 28/01/2020 20:56

@Jenna30ttc @Lucy5546 @AutumnCat thank you so much ladies. You have no idea how much better I feel after hearing your replies. I am so grateful for this thread and all of you lovely ladies! I need to just try and relax a bit and enjoy the experience. I’ve read a few of the other threads but feels strange posting on any, but I think it will definitely help.
DP is being totally wonderful, I haven’t had to do a thing around the house! He is trying his best to understand my anxiety and he’s being super supportive. I’ve been with him 7 years and I don’t think I’ve ever loved him as much!

@jenna30ttc I think it’s definitely may be good for you. Although MN is an amazing support network, sometimes getting so engrossed in talking to people makes things a little more stressful. Take the time that you need and enjoy the experience of TTC! It will happen Flowers xx

@lucy5546 thank you, will definitely PM if I need a chat! Hope all is well with you? X

Wintergal · 28/01/2020 21:39

@FirsttimeTTC I totally understand how you are feeling. I am having the exact same feelings myself. Xx

Vikki90 · 30/01/2020 20:33

Hey everyone! Been super busy at work so have just caught up on the thread! Massive congratulations @FirsttimeTTC I am hoping this is the start of many positives for the rest of the group 😊 @peachypetite some of my periods have been like that since coming off the pill...can spot up to 9 days before which is just ridiculous! I was the same thought ooo is this implantation, so frustrating when AF arrives. I am using clear blue also- let me know how you get on with them, I have had high days but never a peak day so have just stocked up on amazon cheapies to see what they say! According to Flo I should be ovulating next week, we have literally been having sex everyday / every other day (missed a couple being busy) @Jenna30ttc it’s going to happen for you, stay positive lovely...! I feel like shit when AF turns up but a few days later I get that positive head on, all we can do! 😊 hope everyone else in the chat is good, I can’t keep up! Haha xx

Jenna30ttc · 30/01/2020 22:25

@Vikki90 awh thank you. You are so right once af turns up you feel like shit but then as soon as it’s over you get back to being positive again. I hope it happens for us all soon! I hope you are doing well. Xx

Jenna30ttc · 30/01/2020 22:27

@FirsttimeTTC thank you lovely. I hope you are feeling much better. Xx

Sausage1990 · 30/01/2020 23:06

Hi ladies.... Does anyone feel that opk are a bit useless?

I'm using them for the 1st time this month to see if my CM changes are happening around ovulation but my tests are still coming up negative even though my CM has now turned thin an watery, which for me I tend to see a few days before EWCM... But the opk strips are still only 1 line.

I feel I do know my body well and usually my cm is pretty on point as I get af 2 weeks after ewcm and obviously in December we did conceive (even if it didn't stick)...

Anyone else find opks a bit rubbish and just not use them? I don't track BBT either simply because I can't be bothered with the faff... Thoughts appreciated xx

peachypetite · 31/01/2020 08:51

Hi @Vikki90 how’s many months have you not had a static? Could be worth booking a GP appt if you’ve been trying to conceive a while? To the others - I’ve never been convinced by the hassle of the paper ones. However I am worried I’ve been basing ovulation around my app which probably isn’t accurate. So I’ve spent the money on clear blue as most people have written positive reviews about them. I’ll report back! Period is hopefully finishing today. It’s hinestly been the worst one in a while.

Vikki90 · 31/01/2020 15:32

@Sausage1990 I have similar issues, the clearblue one has gave me negative days and flashing smileys but on days where I have had more discharge and felt I could of ovulated I haven't been given a peak smiley! I am on the amazon ones now and all negative however I dont think I am due to ovulate until next week (my cycles are long) so I will let you know how I get on with these next week! :-)
@peachypetite 3 months (first month I did run out of sticks mind) last 2 I have had alot of flashing smileys (last month 8 so I gave up as I wanted to save 10 for the next cycle) we carried on having sex but maybes we quit to early before AF arrived. I was planning around my app to begin with and now I have decided to just start from AF finishing till it begins! Bless you, hope your feeling good today!

Sausage1990 · 03/02/2020 11:21

Hi guys just a bit of an update... I persevered with the opk tests and I got a peak on Saturday (cd27) so they did seem to work OK I just ovulated a good week later than I thought. My body is working it was just taking a minute after the chemical last cycle

I wanted to update because often in threads an issue is highlighted but an answer or outcome never given. Xx

FirsttimeTTC · 03/02/2020 12:17

@sausage1990 glad you finally got your positive OPK. At least you know where you are now in your cycle, fingers crossed for you xx

Shaunab16 · 03/02/2020 12:39

Hi All, sorry I have been so quiet, I've been so busy but just wanted to firstly congratulate @FirsttimeTTC (V.jelous) lol.

Secondly, I have been using a different app and it is absolutely spot on with everything! I tried OPK's this month (cheap amazon ones) and it married up perfectly... I'm really surprised. The app is called 'My Tracker' and the icon is a flower. It's super easy to use as well. Anyway I just wanted to share Smile

Currently in the dreaded TWW - I actually tried the SMEP this month so we'll see how that goes xx

Vikki90 · 03/02/2020 19:38

@Sausage1990 aww glad they worked for you! Are you using clear blue? I have been using the amazon sticks and yesterday I had 2 lines one nearly as dark as the control line, but I don’t feel as if I have much CM. Gonna keep trying with them. How many fertile days did you have before peak if it’s the clear blue one? Xx

EithneBlue · 03/02/2020 22:20

Hey ladies :-) I hope you're all well!
@FirsttimeTTC - how are you feeling now? Has it sunk in?!

@Sausage1990 that's good news! Seems like your body just needed a little time to adjust :-)

Sorry I've been a little quiet: I had a vile AF - heavier than normal and the sort that made me want to curl up and cry. Things are a little better now though -- I've had flashing smiley faces on my OPKs since Saturday and EWCM today so looks like this cycle is going to be less weird than the last. Fingers crossed for peak (assuming it ties into when I think I ovulate that should be in the next couple of days).
I did spend my weekend drinking a few glasses of wine though to celebrate the end of dry January: but my husband is now limiting my caffiene, which is killing me (and I absolutely had 3 coffees today because I was so tired).

Starburst12 · 04/02/2020 09:37

(Namechange from Firsttimettc)

@Shaunab16 thank you!

@EithneBlue limiting caffeine is horrific. I love coffee Sad
Things are a little better thank you. It has sunk in a little bit but I’m still incredibly overwhelmed. I’m suffering with absolutely horrendous migraines so I’m going to have to see my GP, unfortunately though, google tells me this is a common symptom of pregnancy 😤
Hope this is your month!!! 💕

Lucy5546 · 05/02/2020 11:53

@Shaunab16 SMEP worked for me first month trying so hopefully you are in luck. I have heard it works for lots of people fairly quick. How many DPO are you?

@starburst12 sorry to hear about your migraines. Do you usually suffer with them? Hopefully the shock has settled down a little bit for you

Shaunab16 · 05/02/2020 12:25

@Lucy5546 Oh really!! Fingers crossed. I am currently 8 DPO. I feel like I have had a few symptoms but trying not to think into it. I don't know whether to test at weekend or wait to see if AF arrives. How long did you wait to test? x

EithneBlue · 05/02/2020 20:28

My excitement for the day: static smiley on ClearBlue OPK! I was starting to worry that I was just going to get stuck on flashing without seeing peak. I didn't see anything that even remotely resembled a positive OPK last month so this makes me happy and hopeful! :D

Lucy5546 · 05/02/2020 23:38

@Shaunab16 oh thats not too bad. Not long for you to wait. I dont know when exactly i ovulated but i didnt test until AF was nearly a week late. I was away with family so wasnt thinking about it. And with it being xmas and new years i though my cycle would be messed up.i think have of it was me being to scared to find out though haha

peachypetite · 09/02/2020 07:51

Hi all. I've taken a little break but back now.
I am also using the clear blue tests. I'm on my third day of flashing smiley and can confirm my app has been estimating ovulation earlier, so I am very glad I have the sticks. They are so easy to use that I think they are worth the money. How is everyone?

Lucy5546 · 09/02/2020 11:05

Hi @peachypetite sometimes a break is well needed. I hope your nice and refreshed now. I never used ovulation tests but i have heard good things about the clear blue. Flashing smiley is good i hope you are DTD regularly. Hope they work out for you this cycle

Vikki90 · 12/02/2020 20:45

How is everyone doing? 😊 @peachypetite did you get a static peak on the clear blue yet!? I am intrigued for other people’s feedback on them. @EithneBlue glad you got your peak! You will have to keep us updated, have my fingers crossed for you! 🤞 x

EithneBlue · 12/02/2020 22:16

Hey :) :)

How is everyone?

I don't know where my week has gone - the end of term is biting me hard and I've had a really rough week. It's a bit of a challenging school that I work in and things have been... emotionally tough. Luckily dry January is over and I've had a couple of cheeky wines to see me through. I also went to see The Book of Mormon earlier in the week which was hilarious and cheered me up a lot.

Peak was shown last Wednesday, so assume ovulation on Thursday making me 6DPO - I'm too busy to even be watching for symptoms or anything, but I can tell you the only thing that's different so far is that I'm very grumpy and very tired. That has nothing to do with TTC and everything to do with it being the last week of term.

@peachypetite - fingers crossed you got that peak! Mine was flashing for 5 days before I got static.

@Jenna30ttc you've been super quiet - how's life?

WednesdaySpinner · 12/02/2020 22:42

Hi everyone.

AF arrived for me yesterday, I really felt like I could be pregnant this time and so it was difficult yesterday when AF arrived but I've had to pick myself up and get ready for trying again next month (I know we all know how that feels!). I just want AF out of the way so that we can move on to the next cycle but am also conscious that I don't want to end up wishing each month away! I'm going away this weekend with DH and so it will be nice to have a drink or two and relax together after some crazy weeks at work, a musical might be something I suggest for next month!

I've been looking into the Ava bracelet, has anyone got one / know anyone who has used one?
