Short LP & cycle success stories

Beau2019 · 05/12/2019 13:07

Hello everyone. I'm hoping for some help. TTC#2 had an unsuccessful pregnancy (termination) 3 years ago. Conceived 3rd cycle of coming off pill last time, cycles were 28-29 days. I'm a 28.

Had nexplanon implant out September and had very short cycles since 23-24 days. I ovulate around CD14-15 and then my LP is only about 8-9 days long.

Does anyone have any success stories in similar situations and any advice on lengthening cycle? I've been taking sertraline 100mg for the last 13 months, reduced my dose down to 25mg the last month and now I have stopped completely. CD1 today. I also have been drinking 2-3 coffees a day - could any of these effect my cycle?

Thank you all 💕 any advice welcome

Hey I’m in the same boat in terms of lp. Mine is 8/9 days with spotting 2 days prior. Am giving it until after xmas them if no bfp I’m going to start taking Angus Castus and vit B6 as they are supposed to help lengthen. Lets hope some post their success stories and give us some hope! X

Beau2019 · 05/12/2019 15:13

@Nobunintheovenyet My periods are not even close to being as heavy as what they used to and they last only 2 days and then spotting for 2 days after maybe. I used to get 3-4 heavy clotting days and then spotting for another 2-3 days. Now I only have 1 heavy day - it's very weird. Next month I'm taking these

  • Agnus Castus
  • Vitamin B complex and I'm going to take extra B6
  • High dose vitamin C

There are more to add to my list yet haha!

Same here mine was been ten this month it was 12 the first couple of cycles then another month 11 but spotting from day 10 so all over the place. Im taking vitamin b complex this month and going to get the b6 as well. I did hear about vitamin c but dont want to over do it with tablets as also taking folic acid and a pregnancy multi vitamin. If mine doesnt extend this month im going to try a progesterone cream x

Nobunintheovenyet · 05/12/2019 18:43

Thats very weird. I was on the pill for 10 years so don’t really remember what my periods were luke before lol.

Do you know if you had a short lp before your other child?

If I’m honest i have not looked so much into it it want to enjoy xmas but will get onto the vit C too if that’ll help.

Beau2019 · 05/12/2019 21:39

@Nobunintheovenyet nope I had almost the 'perfect' cycle before. 14 days follicular and 14 days luteal phase. And this was only less than 3 years ago

Nobunintheovenyet · 06/12/2019 10:07

@Beau2019 why do our bodies do this to us. I’m 5dpo and has some brown spotting this am 🙄🙄🙄🙄

Where are you in your cycle? Be nice to have a buddy.

Beau2019 · 06/12/2019 10:11

@Nobunintheovenyet AF started for me yesterday :( so I'm starting the process all over again sadly! Based on a 25 day cycle I'm due AF again 30th December.

If you were 7-9DPO I'd say the brown spotting may be implantation but it's way too early :( I read on other posts about women with short luteal phases often spot before their period. I got spotting mid cycle for my first 2 cycles after I had my implant removed

OP posts:
Nobunintheovenyet · 06/12/2019 10:46

Oh sorry to hear that, now you can start taking all them supplements. Well AF is due for me on Tuesday so wont be too far behind you.

Yes thats always true for me at least 2 days of spotting usually. I had a cycle where i was spotting every day from ov to af but that was back in july. I dont know what this is atm.

Trying2019 · 27/12/2019 20:01

Has anyone had any luck extending their LP? X

TimeToPullMyHairOut · 27/12/2019 20:15

Just to let you know I conceived both mine with a 9-10 day lp. Currently thinking about ttc again but my lp has now gone down to 7 days so back to thinking about it again. I wish I could get back to 9-10 days!

Nobunintheovenyet · 27/12/2019 20:23

@Trying2019 Well i had a weird one this cycle, my lp changed on its own to 12 days but i had spotting from 4-9dpo so I literally have no idea whats going on. This month I’m trying progesterone cream as im sure thats whats causing the spotting.

How have you got on?

Trying2019 · 27/12/2019 20:48

@TimeToPullMyHairOut that is good to know thanks for sharing Grin

@nobunintheovenyet im currently 8 dpo been taking vitamin b6 and vitamin complex. I really hope it makes a difference. If not im trying the cream next month. That does sound an odd one. Spotting is so annoying hopefully the cream helps x

Beau2019 · 28/12/2019 10:48

@Trying2019 I'm currently one day away from finding out 🙈 last months cycle was 24 days and month previous was 25. I'm on CD24 today but I haven't tracked ovulation this month (last month was around CD15 so I THINK I'm 8/9DPO. If I can get to NYE I'll be happy!

I've been taking vit B complex, extra B6, C and Agnus Castus. I will report back in a few days to see where I am at. I hardly got any EWCM this month (only 2 days and I have 4 days last month). I think my issue is that my lining doesn't get thick enough to implant, as my LP is so short and my periods are really light.

Had the weirdest dream last night that I got a strong BFP and it was a clear blue that told me I was 13-17 weeks pregnant 😂😂😂

@Nobunintheovenyet sorry lovely I forgot to reply to you. Did AF arrive for too this month?

OP posts:
Nobunintheovenyet · 28/12/2019 21:02

@Trying2019 be interesting to see if they work for you, i have them in my draw but want to try the cream first, keep me updated please.

@Beau2019 Currently Cd16 and got a positive opk which is the earliest I’ve ever got one. Awww fingers crossed for you let us know how you get on x

Trying2019 · 30/12/2019 20:28

@Nobunintheovenyet istarted spotting at 10dpo again. Still spotting today at 11 DPO. Getting really fed up worrying something is wrong. My cervix is low and open so definitely AF. Feeling so emotional with it all. Think i could relax more if my LP was longer.

@Beau2019 did yours extend? Xx

Beau2019 · 30/12/2019 20:36

@Trying2019 oh bless you lovely!! I know the feeling. Not sure if it's already been asked but how long have you be TTC for?

Yes mine has! I think I'm currently 10DPO which is the longest for me and currently on CD26 which is 2 days longer than normal! I've been feeling AF cramps for the last 2 days so I'm just waiting for her to arrive. We only DTD twice in fertile window and didn't track a thing this month so I'm sure I haven't caught but on the positive this is the longest cycle I've had since having my implant out.

OP posts:
Trying2019 · 30/12/2019 22:06

@Beau2019 im so glad yours has extended hopefully you are getting back to normal after the implant removal and get your BFP. We started trying in June. I had two long cycles with a 12 day LP but now im ovulating earlier my LP is shorter. Seems there is always something to worry about. Ordered vitamin c for this month x

Nobunintheovenyet · 30/12/2019 22:14

@Beau2019 you got to 10 days thats good at least you have an improvement. Don’t want to get your hopes up but we all know preg symptoms are the same as af!!!

@Trying2019 oh don’t i am getting more and more anxious about it as time goes on. I usually spot from 6/7 dpo so super early. Will you carry on with the supplements do you think?

Trying2019 · 30/12/2019 22:22

@nobunintheovenyet yes i think ill carry on they havent done any harm. I was tempted to get a pregnancy multi vitamin but dont want to end up with long cycles again and heard some can mess you up. Ive gone from deciding not to track this month to ordering a BBT thermometer 🙈 i read a post where the poster actually ovulated earlier than their positive OPK and had been worrying about a short LP for no reason so i want to rule it out but at ssme time want to take the relaxed approach xx

I think ill go to the doctors tomorrow. Been in such a mess tonight xx

georgialondon · 30/12/2019 22:31

Mine has always been 9 days. I Have conceived first month of trying twice.

It's not always bad news.

Nobunintheovenyet · 30/12/2019 22:36

@trying2019 and i take it you havn’t had any side effects that some say you can get? I take Pregnacare and my cycles have remained the same as before them. I am so close to ordering one and other half said to do it but i really dont want to become obsessive as I’m pretty sure my opk’s are correct as i get the ovary pains too.

Oh no hun sending you a hug...... this journey is so pants at times. Go doctors and see if anything they can make you feel better with some direction, have you had any tests done yet?

rj995 · 30/12/2019 23:03

My LP is 9-10 days & conceived DS on month 4 of trying, so as others said not always bad news, everyone's body is different, hopefully you get your BFP soon

Trying2019 · 31/12/2019 09:16

@Nobunintheovenyet i have booked an appointment for two weeks time. Feel more positive now im doing something about it and hearing more positive stories. Dh has his sperm analysis kit here so just need to get that sorted as well xx

Trying2019 · 31/12/2019 09:17

@Nobunintheovenyet sorry forgot to say no side effects. The b6 just makes your urine neon yellow but thats normal xx
