Ovulated yesterday and didn't share the bed properly with my hub since 4 days. Yes We dtd the day before yday but it was not a proper one. We just did it. Sorry tmi but I dont think any sperm would have managed to reach vagina. 😔😔

mellymoo86 · 22/11/2019 08:23

@Skygirl1983 mine hasn't arrived yet, looks like it might be Saturday or Sunday as expected. It's our date night tomorrow so knowing my luck that's when it'll be. I'm fuming right now, just had a screaming match with the receptionist at the GP. No offence to receptionists but why are they so bloody RUDE. They treat me like I'm some chav calling in for a appointment every 5 mins.

Called ydy and was told to call today, so waited by the phone and called them at 7.59am. She said I can book you in for 2.30pm so confirmed it and asked for the reason and I said conception and she said what? And I said conception, my husband and I are trying for a baby, then she said hold on and cut me off, put me on hold. I knew at that moment she was going to tell me some BS. Came back and said I can't book you in, it's not considered important so you can call back on Wednesday. So I went ape shit on her...not important NOT IMPORTANT!!! As far as she knew I could have been trying for years or had miscarriages who the heck is she to tell me that. So I said I want to see a doctor! Then she said no and I said YES! Then she said but I'm going to put on the notes that I advised against it, I said do what you want to do I'm seeing a doctor today, she said I'll have 4 minutes and I said I WANT TO SEE A DOCTOR!

Anyway I've stopped trembling from anger now. All hell is going to break lose if I go in and they're mean to me. 😏

Skygirl1983 · 22/11/2019 08:41

@PrettyGirl5545 sorry to hear that. Please dont let it get you down. Ttc is tough on everyone. Take some time out of it all with your other half and enjoy the xmas season. Fresh start in the new year.

@mellymoo86 really??? I know doctors are stretched but who is she to advise anyone against seeing a doctor or not!! That's your business! Not hers!! You are more than entitled to make a routine appointment to see your doctor. It's not like you have demanded an emergency appointment! Stuff like that infuriates me!! Next time you make an appointment just say its personal and you only wish to talk to the doctor about it. I'm angry for you.

So I was thinking on the way to work that if this isn't my month I'm not going to try in December and just enjoy xmas, drink the wine, and eat the pate! And start again in the new year.

mellymoo86 · 22/11/2019 08:47

@Skygirl1983 yeah exactly! Next time I'll say it's personal, don't know why I didn't. Hopefully I'll snap out of it so I go in with a clear mind, still got a few hours so it's ok.

That's a good idea so you aren't stressed over the holidays, or you can just dtd every other day roughly between that time and not track anything. Although I know it'll still be on your mind.

Skygirl1983 · 22/11/2019 08:57

@mellymoo86 make a few notes of the things you want to ask so you get the most from your time.

Yeah I'm not going to stress if this isnt my month and just enjoy the holidays and some time with the hubby. Maybe have an extra couple of date nights planned

@Skygirl1983 that sounds lovely, I still need to book a weekend getaway. Just haven't had time.

What sort of questions do you think I should ask. I was going to explain how long we've been trying (longer than I actually have), explain when I ovulate, how long my cycles are, both generally fit and healthy. I want to check his sperm, and my ovarian reserve/quality of eggs. And then she what they advise.

Skygirl1983 · 22/11/2019 09:34

@mellymoo86 I think all of that sounds ideal. And then just see what to doctor suggests. I'm hoping it's a positive appointment for you. Is your husband going too?

OP posts:
mellymoo86 · 22/11/2019 09:39

@Skygirl1983 yeah we are both going, hope it goes well. I'll update you after it.

Skygirl1983 · 22/11/2019 09:52

@mellymoo86 yea please keep us posted.

Not had chance to read through properly but just thought I'd let you all know AF got me. I'll be hanging around tho x

Skygirl1983 · 22/11/2019 10:46

@mrsio sorry!! That is rubbish!! Definitely stick around. We all need to show off our xmas trees soon!!
Are you going to carry on over the xmas period or take a break and start in the new year? If I'm not getting a BFP this month I'm taking a break!

OP posts:
mrsio · 22/11/2019 10:53

Thanks @Skygirl1983. Yeah I'll carry on. If we're successful next month I'd find out after my Christmas nights out but before Christmas. I'm not a big drinker anyway so I'm not bothered about not drinking on actual Christmas. It will be nice to be able to drink for my nights out tho. A BFP just before Christmas would be great. It's also lucky I ovulated a bit late last month coz I've got a business trip the week after next that was due to be right in over ovulation. But those 3 days it was late have pushed it to the weekend luckily!

Skygirl1983 · 22/11/2019 11:03

@mrsio fingers crossed for you this time around. That's lucky that your dates have worked out.
I'm not a big drinker either but if I can enjoy the pate and soft cheeses I will!!

This weekend I will be keeping an eye out as my CM usually changes to a bit of spotting a few days before my AF. Will see if it happens this weekend.

Hi everyone - mind if I join?

I'm 7-9 DPO (I think) not certain exactly but CD23 (though, my last AF stopped after 2 days, started again then stopped after another 3. Weird!). I'm hoping someone else going through this TTC minefield will have some advice for me. I came off DEPO 6 months ago and previously no periods on that for 9 years, so I can barely remember what's considered 'normal', but I am back to a regular cycle now.

I've had some crampy pains/ heavy almost pressure-like feeling really low down in my uterus for the last week, since ovulation I think. Also lots of CM and very 'wet' feeling which is unusual for me. I have had heartburn and back ache on and off too and when that got really bad yesterday I convinced myself I was PG and took a FRER. BFN, obviously as it's clearly too early. What do we all think?

Any advice/support very happily received!

Louu99 · 22/11/2019 14:02

Good luck @mellymoo86 ! 👍🏻 hope it all goes well.

And sorry about AF @mrsio but you get to speak to us lunatics for a bit longer so woohoo! Xz

MrsC89 · 22/11/2019 14:45

@mellymoo86 why are the receptionists so rude! I'm like no offence love, I want to speak to someone medically trained, not just someone that answers the phone. Not that I'd ever have the guys to say it!
I got my DH to march in there the other week, they wouldnt listen to me, but him, as the son of the local recently retired pharmacist got the answers straight away.
Luckily for a non urgent appointment I can now book it all online.

CiaraJ01 · 22/11/2019 17:31

Hey guys!! sorry been awol since the OH came back.

@Skygirl1983 I'm with you, AF arrives the week before Xmas so if she does then I'm just enjoying the festivities. I'm fond of a few drinks so I'm not sorry to say I'll be getting shit faced 😂 Then back off the beer in January and we start this crazy stuff again!

@mellymoo86 that's ridiculous! I run a surgery and I know receptionists get a raw deal but they cant offer you and appt and then change their mind! If you've not asked for an emergency appt it can be about whatever the hell you like! and I'd seriously query that 4 minute rule, sounds ridiculous!

nt1992 · 22/11/2019 18:10

Hi! Hope you're all well🥰

mellymoo86 · 22/11/2019 18:42

@Louu99 @CiaraJ01 @MrsC89 @Skygirl1983

Sorry for the late reply ladies, today has been a shit day. Was expecting a mattress and that never came. I HATE benson for beds. I've complained in every way that I can. Anyways forget that, I went to the doctor. I had to lie and say I was trying for 15 months, and you know what she said? I think you are stressed so stop doing the ovulation strips etc and try til 2 years 😂 I was like bitch please!

I went with hubby and he was like err no! So long story short I have done my first blood test as I am cycle day 1 today (AF appeared) where it'll look at my lh hormones, fsh etc...basically to see if I have everything in place as I should to ovulate. She managed to fit me in straight away. My next blood test is in 3 weeks to check if I ovulated and my progesterone levels. Hubby will also have his semen checked, we will then be referred accordingly to that. So let's see how it goes.

FeckaDecka · 22/11/2019 18:57

@mellymoo86 how long have you actually been trying?

It's my first TWW and now I realise what everyone's been talking about! 😂

100thnamechangethisyear · 22/11/2019 19:10

I'd rather not roll the karma dice and lie saying I've been trying for ages just incase karma being the bitxh that it can be...it actually ends up being ages and what if you then end up tracked for IVF when you don't actually need it and someone else really does?

Skygirl1983 · 22/11/2019 19:45

@mellymoo86 I'm glad that they are doing a bit of digging. It'll be good to know if theres a problem there or not.

I on the other hand have had a bit of a wobble tonight!! I got myself very upset (a lot of personal stuff affecting my mental wellbeing more than I want it to) Had a big cry, let a lot of stuff out, and realised I need to stop putting pressure on it all. I'm also on my 4th glass of wine! And it's nice!! If it's not my month, I hope it will still happen. And I'm sure it will. But I also cant let it consume my everything!!

Mangaroo · 22/11/2019 20:13

@Skygirl1983 "I hope it will still happen. And I'm sure it will. But I also cant let it consume my everything!!"
This should be the motto of this group! Glad you have found an outlet for the frustration and emotions, enjoy the wine and have a relaxing evening! Xx

PS: you have good karma on you for having brought this group together! ;-)

Mangaroo · 22/11/2019 20:16

I don't think it's helpful to judge each other for how we approach difficulties around conceiving. And I think it should be everyone's human right to have children, and we all know this is not a fair game unfortunately.

Skygirl1983 · 22/11/2019 20:23

@Mangaroo believe me when I say this wine is going down well. It feels good to let go a bit. And I'm glad I have created this little group. You ladies are an amazing support!!

And I agree, no one should be judged on their choices. This group is a tiny part of someone's journey. We dont know the full story. Everyone's journey is different and I hope we can support that.
