@Chatbash72 I'm more shocked at a female actually getting close enough to him to get pregnant - she's got to be desperate!

gizmo167 · 01/03/2020 16:05

Hi all, just checking in with you all and hello to everyone xx

Still no AF yet but am expecting in couple of days max I reckon, CD34 today and had a little beigy colour cm last night so imminent I think :(

Fishergirl · 01/03/2020 16:44

Congratulations@Annie078! Lovely news. I've been taking Ubiquinol for the past 3 months and have had acupuncture on and off for the past 5 years.
@Chatbash72 completely agree about Boris Johnson. 😡

Catclock · 01/03/2020 16:57

Omg agree 100% re the Boris thing too and actually also the lack of criticism aimed at older men fathering children. Nowt but horrible comments when it's older mothers xx

Springroll89 · 01/03/2020 18:22

Thanks @Annie078 it is wonderful to hear of your BFP and successful 21 week pregnancy!

claireb707 · 01/03/2020 19:35

My temp has dropped now 2 days in a row, think period is imminent too @gizmo167 😢
Cd29, 11 DPO today

Been taking ubiquinol for almost 2 months as well

ecostats · 01/03/2020 20:39

Congratulations @Annie078, that's brilliant news. I agree, there seems to be quite a lot of BFPs on this thread, its v encouraging!

Completely agree @Catclock, I haven't even heard mention of Boris Johnson's age! I have not told one of my close friends that we've been TTC for the last 19 months or that we're going through IVF because her husband is so judgemental about older mothers.

Does anyone else sometimes consider giving up TTC because it's all-consuming? Or have you managed to balance it so you can get on with life? I feel like every day is governed by my cycle or waiting for an appointment, and I wonder whether it's worth the constant anxiety or whether I'm just missing out on enjoying the family I have now.

Catclock · 01/03/2020 22:38

@ecostats mine is quite all-consuming. As I'm at an incredibly pivotal point in my life. For me it's all or nothing, which is overwhelming to face up to, and I'm not quite ready to give up hoping just yet x

ecostats · 02/03/2020 09:11

@Catclock, I have my fingers crossed for all of us. xx

Starlight39 · 02/03/2020 09:46

Congratulations @Annie078! I'm another ubiquinol taker Smile

Sorry to hear that your temp has dropped @claireb707, hope you're OK.

Hope you're OK @gizmo167 and the spotting is actually implantation bleeding.

I agree with you all about Boris Johnson. His whole private life really - the affairs, the many children (some unacknowledged) and now another at 55. A woman would be crucified by the press!

@ecostats - I agree it can become all consuming. Planning things (holiday/weekend away, time with friends etc) seems to help a little. I also stopped temping as it was making me too crazy and not actually giving me any extra info.

I think I'm 7 dpo and there's a slim chance I could be pregnant this month as I ovulated (I think) much sooner than I thought I would after the mc. I'm torn between stupidly hoping I am becauase it's hard to shake that wish and hoping I'm not as I have my appointment for recurrant miscarriage in a few weeks and I don't think they'll do anything if I'm already pregnant.

Catclock · 02/03/2020 13:08

Awww @Starlight39 it's typical that isn't it. I guess it's out of your hands atm and you'll have to wait and see. X

Catclock · 02/03/2020 16:57

Ok ladies - Ibuprofen. Where do you stand in it? (So to speak!). I've been avoiding it for months (don't think I've ovd anyway) but I used to use it a lot to help my PMT. And I feel so rough this month, really want to take some to help my symptoms, even just a little bit.. But I'm obviously paranoid as anything about something that MAY interfere with ovulation.
If I just have it for a couple of days, a week before ovulation do you think that'd be ok?
X

Starlight39 · 02/03/2020 17:59

I thought ibuprofen was only bad if you take over ovulation? Or at least the tests I read about were. So I wouldn't worry about it especially if it helps you feel a bit better. Hope you're OK Flowers

Yes, I've just got to wait and see - what will be will be. I should find out by the end of the week.

Catclock · 02/03/2020 18:32

Thanks @Starlight39 yes surely it'll be alright. And will stop me feeling utter rubbish.
I have my fingers crossed for you. For you to be able to cope and stay positive xx

ecostats · 02/03/2020 21:31

@Catclock, I've read that ibuprofen can affect implantation but you could check with a nurse/doctor to be sure?

@Starlight39, good advice thanks! Good luck with either a BFP (hopefully) or an appt with the recurrent miscarriage unit, which may give you the answers you need.

gizmo167 · 03/03/2020 09:35

Morning everyone x

CD2 for me, AF arrived yesterday afternoon, really painful and quite a lot of clotting today, to be expected I guess being first one after the mc, feeling disheartened and to top it off I think I've thrush too, never ends does it! Anyone know if its safe to take tablet when ttc??

TBH I reckon the mc was my last chance, I'll be 42 in a few weeks time and its just not to be :(

Catclock · 03/03/2020 10:13

@gizmo167 Don't say that! 42 is but a Spring Chick! Your body is clearly trying, don't be hard on yourself. I'm older than you and haven't given up on finding that one 'good' egg. If it's meant to be, it's meant to be. Regardless of age x

Starlight39 · 03/03/2020 11:44

Thank you @ecostats and @catclock. No signs of either AF or pregnancy yet so who knows what's going on!

@gizmo167 sorry to hear AF arrived. I think it's OK to take the tablet as long as you aren't actually pregnant. I honestly don't think it was your last chance at all! It's just tough after a miscarriage as you have to deal with the feeling that everything has gone backwards and everything you thought was going to happen now isn't (at least not on that timescale). I think it's easy to get downhearted around birthdays too. Flowers

Chatbash72 · 03/03/2020 13:48

@gizmo167 sorry af has hit, mine today too.. but yes you are a spring chick you have plenty more eggs.. I'm a few more years older and I haven't given up hope yet.. whilst af still arrived there is still hope xxx

Starlight39 · 03/03/2020 14:49

That's a good way to look at it @Chatbash72 - your body is doing something right thing when AF turns up on time as disappointing as it can be.

The hospital just rang to say the GP booked me into the wrong clinic so they had to rebook and it has now changed from 19th March to 8th April. I feel like it's the right route to go down and I know I'm incredibly lucky to be seen relatively quickly but it's a bit frustrating. I knew I wasn't booked into the recurrant miscarriage clinic but assumed I needed a scan or something first and I should have rung them to double check.

MaryShelley1818 · 03/03/2020 16:00

Hey lovely ladies, huge congratulations to those who've got their BFPs - wishing you a healthy and happy 9mths xxx

I don't know how I feel anymore...I've stopped tracking and filling in my app, don't bother with Ovulation sticks anymore, my folic acid ran out last week. I just feel like I have to protect myself from it not happening. I'm already so lucky to have a beautiful little boy at home and maybe that's what is meant to be.

I told DH last week how I feel and he admitted if it happened he would be happy but he's equally happy with our life just being how it is now. The baby stage was extremely difficult and we both struggled so now DS is 2, he's just amazing and absolutely delightful. He did say however that while we're not using protection he wants me to continue taking the 5mg folic acid, so I put a new prescription in yesterday and then received a bloody text message from the GP saying "can see no reason to continue prescribing folic acid" it was like a punch in the stomach. Even the GP thinks I'm a lost cause. Absolutely hopeless.

I couldn't keep up the Keto Diet either so now I'm fatter than ever, barren and completely surrounded by pregnant people!! 😂

Chatbash72 · 03/03/2020 17:17

@MaryShelley1818 check out Emma cannon on Instagram she has very positive vibes

Starlight39 · 04/03/2020 10:29

@MaryShelley1818, hope you're OK. Maybe you need a bit of a break from it all and you can decide wehter to let it lie or pick it back up again later. That's so awful of the GP to say that - obviously there is a reason and you aren't just taking it for fun Confused.

Also, you could try a mediterranean diet? It's meant to be good for fertility and a bit less full on than keto!

claireb707 · 04/03/2020 21:08

Well I'm no 14dpo (cd31), still no sign of period, and my temp went back up this morning, baffled

ecostats · 05/03/2020 07:37

@MaryShelley1818, it sounds like taking a break from all the monitoring/tracking is the right thing for you, it's probably good to take a break now and then!

@MrsBobDylan, just wondering how you're doing after your news last week?
