Hi and welcome @mazdaz25. Good luck with the SMEP! That's roughly what I aim for in terms of DTD timing.

@gizmo167 I'd call 28th CD1 I think. I found with my 6 week MC, AF was just maybe a couple of days late. With my MMC, I got AF maybe 5 weeks after the treatment. This time the bleeding has been a bit more drawn out so I'm not sure if that will delay AF a bit more.

Good luck for your transfer @Russkispy. Sending lots of positive sticky baby vibes your way.

I had a wedding at the weekend that I felt really worried about but it was actually fine despite almost every other person having a baby or being pregnant (it seemed)! There was even a 4 day old baby at our table. I just really enjoyed spending some time with DP and having a couple of drinks. The bleeding seems to have nearly stopped and at least the cramping has stopped, it seemed to come back every afternoon last week. So I'm hoping we can be back to having sex soon even if we have to avoid getting pregnant for now till I get the recurrant miscarriage tests done.

claireb707 · 17/02/2020 21:08

Sods Bloody law,..

Due to ovulate tomorrow and partner has been struck down by the man flu. No way am I going near him tonight 😂😂 just hope the last 3 days are enough

Starlight39 · 18/02/2020 15:48

Oh no @claireb707! I'm trying to think of positions that don't require too much face to face proximity Grin. Maybe he'll be well enough tomorrow morning??

gizmo167 · 20/02/2020 13:00

Thank you @Starlight39, really hope things settle soon so you can get back to the BD'ing!

I'm just feeling well and truly p'd off atm, I'm so grumpy, am guessing its pre-menstrual as if 28th was CD1 then I'd be due AF on Tuesday coming, really dont think I ovulated this month, really feeling like I just cant be bothered with the whole thing, it wont happen again, reckon the MC was my last change!

PMB123 · 20/02/2020 16:10

Hi ladies!
I hope it's ok if I join? I've been on some other boards here, but just looked through a bit of this one, and you're all so supportive, I think it's just what I need. Big congratulations to all w/ your BFPs and pregnancies!
Me- I'm 44. Have 2 kids, 10 and 12. Had a MC at 8wks in 2017, and gave up after. Just recently decided to try again hoping now it's not too late. Got a BFP last month which just ended in MC on 2/14.
Have booked an appt w/ my dr. to discuss thyroid levels. Has anyone looked into having theirs checked? I read it's best to have your TSH (thyroid stimulating hormone) in the range of .5-2.5 when trying to conceive. I had bloods done in August for a routine physical and my TSH was at a 3.57 then....so I'm wondering if this is an issue? I've read a higher number can lead to more chance at a miscarriage. Anyway, just wondering if others have experience with this?
Good luck to everyone! I'm going to keep trying...I think my fertile window opens next week if the MC didn't mess things up. Fingers crossed for all.

Realitysucks · 20/02/2020 18:11

Well I though I’d drop in and catch up ! I’m currently 31+3 and baby Jake is coming along nicely and weighing in at around 3llb 11oz already 😱 see little pic 😀

@Cleozeta Happy Birthday sorry a bit late !!! Glad all is going well! I hope you’re feeling ok ! Im so fat Now I can’t move lol. I literally got stuck on the sofa last night and DH had to pull me up 🤣🤣🤣

@Realladymarmalade congratulations! Don’t worry about the stats just get to each milestone. Im 42 as well and I’m due 20April according to the doctors they want to start sweeps at 37 weeks and c section at 39. Touch wood I have no health issues, a bit of iron deficient anaemia but that’s it. I have 1 DS who turned 18 on Valentine’s Day ! I had a traumatic labour with him aged 24, was induced too early he wasn’t ready and had shoulder dystocia and a third degree tear. However I had no drugs and they did not use forceps or ventous. I got him out myself.

They want to do the above because it is easier for them as in the uk birth is medically managed. I plan on a natural birth as I did before with no pain relief. I must have been asked about 20 times to book in for an elective csection and my answer is no. Unless there is a medical reason it is not required just because of my age. If you really look at the stats for our age the optimum time for birth is at 41 weeks. Ive done Loads of research plus it helps I do medical law as my job. I’m a doctors worst nightmare lol!

Starlight39 · 21/02/2020 11:02

Sorry you're feeling rubbish @gizmo167. Your body did it once, it can do it again! I didn't feel like I was ovulating after my previous miscarriage but then I did get pregnant. I think the changing hormones just make you feel different.

Hi @PMB123 and welcome. Sorry about your MC last month Flowers and good luck for this month! I haven't had my TSH checked but am going to have recurrant miscarriage testing hopefully soon so I assume that's one of the things they will check for.

Lovely pic @Realitysucks! Congratulations. Good luck with the rest of your pregnancy - I definitely don't see why you shouldn't have a natural birth. I didn't realise doctors would try and get you to have a CS! My midwife was really positive about natural birth in your 40s.

The bleeding from my MC has finally stopped so I'm really pleased about that and it means that DP and I can have sex again. DS is with his Dad so it'll be nice to have a relaxed time with DP.

Russkispy · 21/02/2020 19:40

I'm officially PUPO! It went well! We had a short meditation before transfer! Scan showed 10.3mm lining and all looked great!!the embryo is 5AB and she even told me its gender! When she asked if I wanted to know I just bursted into tears! And then she told me! Transfer went smoothly! She then held my hand and said a little prayer. then had a drip, blood test and acupuncture. OTD is 5/03 🙏🏻🙏🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻

PMB123 · 21/02/2020 21:57

@Russkispy Wow, that is a fantastic lining!!! I hope that all goes well for you 🤞🏻🤞🏻

gizmo167 · 23/02/2020 17:19

Thanks @Starlight39 and huge congrats @Russkispy xxx

No signs of AF as yet, reckon with the heavy bleeding on 28th Jan that I'm CD27, before MC my periods were averaging 29 days so guess next few days will tell if they have returned to normal! Feeling very pre-menstrual, cramping and absolutely no sore boobs at all, when I got my BFP last month my boobs were absolutely killing me so am guessing I'm out this month :(

Starlight39 · 24/02/2020 10:52

Congratulations @Russkispy! That sounds so lovely. Do you have to take it easy for the next 2 weeks?

Sorry you're feeling you're out this month @gizmo167. Hopefully a good sign that your body is going back to normal quick though.

I had a negative pregnancy test over the weekend which is good as I'd only just stopped bleeding from the MC. So I'm happy my body is going back to normal even though I'm not actually TTC till I've had the recurrant miscarriage tests.

Catclock · 24/02/2020 11:01

Hi ladies, dipping back in to see how everyone is. Keeping warm I hope!
I have a query about ovulation. Other than the obvious of not getting pregnant are there any other ways to tell if you're NOT ovulating?!
I have very regular cycles, 25/26 days. I often get cramps on supposedly my most fertile days and get ewcm too (not loads but some) yet I suspect I'm not actually ovulating.... Been off my pill since July x

Starlight39 · 24/02/2020 11:09

@Catclock, you could temp and if you don't have a temp rise after you think you ovulated then you probably haven't. I think that's the only way to do it at home. It might be worth asking the doctor to do blood tests, I think they do day 7 and day 21 of your cycle so they can tell if your progesterone levels are high enough on day 21 to show you've ovulated.

I know a couple of people whose bodies have taken a long while to get back to normal after the pill. I think vit B6 is meant to help if you aren't taking that? Have you tried soy isoflavones (you just take on days 2-6, 3-7 or 4-8). They are supposed to work a bit like clomid to strengthen or bring on ovulation.

Catclock · 24/02/2020 11:32

Yes @Starlight39 that is a good idea regarding temping, it's something I've never done before, but it seems to be an accurate method is it?

Starlight39 · 24/02/2020 11:40

Yes, it's pretty accurate as it shows you have ovulated (once your temp has risen) rather than just your body trying to. I used to enter my temps on www.fertilityfriend.com/. It's free and makes a graph of them for you and confirms when you've ovulated. You just need a thermometre that takes temp to 2 decimal places like this one:

www.amazon.co.uk/Thermometer-Accurate-Temperature-Ovulation-Thermometer%EF%BC%8CStorage/dp/B07XL7FB9C/ref=asc_df_B07XL7FB9C/?hvlocphy=9045873&hvlocphy=9045873&linkCode=df0&hvptwo&hvptwo&psc=1&hvnetw=g&hvnetw=g&hvadid=394232183229&hvadid=394232183229&hvpone&hvpone&hvlocint&hvlocint&ref&hvpos&hvpos&hvdev=c&hvdev=c&hvdvcmdl&hvdvcmdl&hvqmt&hvqmt&tag=mumsnetforu03-21&hvtargid=pla-842295816704&hvtargid=pla-842295816704&hvrand=6846968479201638654&hvrand=6846968479201638654&adgrpid=84524269089

And you ideally need to wake up at roughly the same time each day to take your temp, do it straight away before you get out of bed or anything. I think it's more accurate to do it vaginally if you sleep with your mouth open otherwise you can just put it under your tongue. Good luck!

Chatbash72 · 24/02/2020 18:41

Hello ladies.. congratulations @Russkispy
Have been helping my mum sort out my grandpas house, at the grand old age of nearly 97 he has gone into a nursing home... as we were moving bits I asked about some very old family pics in the wall... my great grandmother and father in my mums side... she was 44!!! Yes ladies 44 when she had my grandmother, my grandmother was a year older than my grandpa ( although died about 10 years ago) BUT that was 143 years ago... no vitamins, special diet or temping..
I felt encouragement for all of us trying.. it's possible ladies sending baby dust ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I gave in to temptation today and POAS at 12dpo. This is the result. Definitely a line, although faint. This was going to be our last month of trying and I am in total shock!!

PMB123 · 24/02/2020 20:04

That is a very good looking line @Chickoletta!!
I don't think it's that faint at all, especially for 12dpo!
Sending sticky prayers to you. Congratulations!
