First time TTC - Coming off the pill. Anyone with me?!

Hi everyone!

Just wanted to start a thread after reading through some and watching.

I came off the pill 1st september, bled 8th-12th then spotted/light bleed again 21st-25th september.

I'm using Flo which I think is pretty inaccurate right now but it's saying I'm due on tomorrow.

No symptoms really - think any I have had have been in my head!

Hoping to find someone who is also starting their journey of TTC for the first time ☺️

I'm with you!
I came off the pill around 20th odd of September. Had a bleed from 24th for about 5 days... then used clearblue ovulation tests which only gave me flashing faces.. no constant face. So I have no idea if I missed the lh surge or just didnt ovulate.
This morning I had what appears to be a positive test but I think I peed on the test window so not sure if that gave me a false positive!
Tomorrow i will use clearblue test to find out 😬😬

gegi · 17/10/2019 20:05

@KerryTTC ahh fingers crossed for you! Is this your first time? what pill were you on? I'm thinking if i ovulated when I think I did - checking cm then i should be about 10 days dpo. Flo seems to think AF will be here tomorrow and I have slight cramping so I wonder if she's coming 😫

KerryTTC · 17/10/2019 20:56

Yes first time for me, terrified/excited!

Have you not taken a pregnancy test yet?? Think I've gotten through about 10 😂

I was on the progesterone only pill so never had periods, I am also using flo, which says AF should be here next tuesday 🤔.

Fingers crossed for you too! You ought to get peeing on sticks!

gegi · 17/10/2019 21:04

Yes I've taken two 😂😂 but they were deffo too early so didn't want to mention it 😂 I took one last week and had a heart attack thinking it was positive - all emotions going then realised it was negative 😫

I was too! On Cerazette - so weird and annoying having periods 😂

I'm so excited and very nervous... but so obsessed with it already hahaha!

Keep me posted on your clearblue!!! I think I'm going to wait a few more days before testing again... try not to over think it 🙈

KerryTTC · 18/10/2019 07:54

Morning @gegi !

Any sign of AF today??

I was dreaming all night of taking tests and they were positive... woke up at half 4 and the clearblue one was negative 😖 reckon I'll have to wait until next month now! I hastily agreed to be on call all weekend so cant even enjoy a drink now Haha.

It is easy to get obsessed 😂. I was also on cerezette for years, until they changed the brand name, but same stuff. Was very convenient not having periods 😂.

Also, I am using ovia fertility now instead of flo... but as I'm not sure of my cycle cant say if it's any more accurate!

CooperLooper · 18/10/2019 08:07

Hello, me too if I can join :)

28, TTC #1. I had the Nexplanon implant removed on 5th October and I haven't had a period in over 5 years so no clue about my cycles.

I've gone through a pack of CB digital OPKs this month to see if I'm getting back on track, all but the first two have been flashing with no static faces so a bit confused. But just planning on DTD every 2-3 days and will yeah on/around 5th Nov is AF hasn't arrived!

Exciting x

gegi · 18/10/2019 09:28

Morning @KerryTTC - no sign today! Flo actually said I was due 5 days ago but it was going to have a delay of 5 days? I guess because of the symptoms I put in but its spooky - and even weirder that I'm listening to it so much 😂

don't worry about the negative.. think they say on here - you're not out till you're out! 😂

@CooperLooper hello lovely! Sounds like you are starting your journey similar to us then! Keep us updated!! ☺️

gegi · 18/10/2019 15:25

Call me crazy but I'm sat at work and got thinking... if I'm counting my cycle from my bleed after the pill it puts me on day 40... if I'm counting from my weird slight bleed mid cycle then that would be cycle day 28... Think I'm thinking too much into it as it can be normal to have longer cycles from coming off the pill? Right? 😂 going to wait a bit longer before testing again... 😫

@gegi hi lovely. Hope you're ok, just wanted to update you with how it went for me! Although we're all so different 😊

I came off my pill back in Feb, I had my withdrawal and it took 6 weeks for me to get my next actual period. During this time I had every pregnancy symptom you could imagine 🤣 I then fell into a regular 28-30 day cycle. Me and DP were super chill the first few months, didn't really know how much of a midfield ttc is, I'd now be month 8 of TTC but decided to take a break. Read many posts on here and had a chat with my doc, you can have a real surge of hormones when you first come off and actually be more fertile in the first few months of coming off the pill! So we've decided I'll go back on for a few months -(which I've read others have done! And fallen the next month they come off) So, it may be your light bleed could have been implantation bleed!? You may be testing too early, are you using a pink dye test? FRER are raved about on here 😘

Baby dust to you 😁 keep us updated x

Izzie94 · 18/10/2019 15:54

Just wanted to add clearblue don't pick up pregnancy hormones as early, pink dye tests are best if testing prior to your period 😊 lots of ladies on here it's taken them over a week for a clearblue to pick up their hormones!! X

gegi · 18/10/2019 16:21

@Izzie94 hi lovely thanks for sharing!!!

I'm fingers crossed maybe it was implantation bleed? But not holding out too much hope as it was quite dark in colour from what I can remember but it was almost 4 weeks ago now!!!! I didn't need to use anything 🤔

The test I used was a blue dye and I think it would have been much too early to test anyway. Think I'm going to hold off for a week before testing again (if I can) and see if AF shows up, she usually does when I have been in this position before 😂

Have you already gone back on the pill? Hope it all goes well for you.

From reading posts on here I can see how frustrating the whole thing can be... and then you wonder how people have babies by accident 😫 xxx

OP posts:
gegi · 18/10/2019 16:22

Also - think it was a sainsburys test i used 😂😂

OP posts:
Izzie94 · 18/10/2019 16:54

@gegi You're welcome hun 😊

I'd say wait it out over the weekend (if you can 🙊) then test again!! I swear our body plays cruel tricks with us as soon as it knows we're ttc! 😅 Every time I went to test shed show 😂😂 it's so cliche but being stress free must definitely help!! But easier said than done ey!!

Yeah I have as of today, we're going to start Jan /Feb by which time I hope you're not on this thread 🙊 I feel more clued up now so will spend those first few months dtd every damn day if I have to hahaha!!! Omg I know, so many of my friends have happy accidents and I'm like HOWWWW!! TELL ME HOW!!! 😂

How old are you? I'm 25, so feeling quite lucky that time is on my side, but also expected it to happen so much sooner 🙄 xx

firstbabyloading · 18/10/2019 17:10

Hi OP
Haven't read through whole thread but just wanted to add my advice hoping it might help.

I came off the pill after about 10 years back in October last year and gave my body a few months to get back to 'normal' and waited for my periods to become regular again.

They eventually got into a pattern and we started to use the flo app for a couple of months however it was quite off as I bought alot of cheap ovulation strips from Amazon I actually ovulated nearly a week after the app estimated I would.

So the first month we used an ovulation test I actually conceived and now have 2 weeks til we meet our baby 😊

I understand it may not happen this easily for everyone but I would say don't pin everything on the app as it used to get me stressed, good luck 😊

ACMJ · 18/10/2019 17:45

I’m with you as well! Came off pill on 3rd September and had withdrawal 6-10 sept. Currently 14 days past expected period but no AF and no idea of dates so don’t know whether to worry or not! Had so many symptoms but the biggest being tiredness and extreme hunger 😂 no idea what is going on keep getting very very faint lines on all of my tests for at least 2 weeks now, very faint but there is defiantly something there but concerned it’s been faint for 2+ weeks now. Also don’t even know if I ovulated or just having post pill ammenorrhea! Stressed Envy

Izzie94 · 18/10/2019 17:56

@firstbabyloading I kind of always tried by the app and I think that's where I was going wrong!! 😬 Did you find the OPKs easy to use? I was worried id become too consumed by it if I did 😅 but would definitely help pinpoint Ov!! Do love reading people's success stories, gives me hope 😁X

firstbabyloading · 18/10/2019 18:05

Yeah really easy its good that u get so many for cheap as i was testing a few times a day up until actual ovulation day but its good cos you see the line getting darker up until your day, so we tried from getting a faint line several times until the line disappeared, and it clearly worked 😂 so I can't recommend them enough. Fingers crossed for you x

gegi · 18/10/2019 19:50

@Izzie94 I'm going to try wait longer than the weekend...🙈 think I tested on the 8th of October and was negative... I know its been 10 days since then though 😫 trying not to think about it haha but its constantly on my mind!

Dtd is the fun part 😂 I'm loving it 😂😂

I'm 23 🙈

@firstbabyloading ahh thanks for sharing! Congratulations bet you are so excited. Do you know what you are having? Xx

@ACMJ omg so similar to me!!! Faint lines have got to mean something?! I was told false positives aren't really a thing as they are usually really accurate but my mum told me that so im not sure 😂 I have similar symptoms to you really!

Also.,. I've had a butterflies in my tummy feeling really badly all day yesterday and today but not sure if I'm overthinking it? Has anyone heard of that before?

I had some slight cramps too maybe AF is coming 😫

OP posts:
ACMJ · 18/10/2019 20:22

@gegi yeah I know that’s what I have heard as well so I am just so stumped! Symptoms have increased today too, increased CM, headaches, bloating, cramping but I don’t know how much I am imagining as want it so much! Being 14 days late I would of seen something proper by now I’m sure

ACMJ · 18/10/2019 20:27

@gegi oh an heartburn! Never had it in my life until now

SavannahKT · 18/10/2019 20:32

I came off the pill on the 10/10 after about 10 years (lots of number 10 here hahaha), many of which with no period, but no bleeding oor simptom since then...should I be worried?

kylieeee · 18/10/2019 20:37

Hi girls! Can I join the party?Grin

I'm 24, been with fiancé for 6 years and we decided it's time to add a third musketeer into the team! I came off my pill around the end of August, had my first real period on the 25th September. I also use Flo, although not sure how accurate just yet! Me and OH have been at it every other day, except we squeezed in once a day during my 5 day fertile windowGrin

I'm now 6 days away from AF being due and hoping soooo much we've worked our magic this time around. I've been feeling ALL the broodiness for years now so I'm standard symptom spotting and testing early despite knowing its far too early for a positiveBlush

Sending you all baby dust zzz

gegi · 18/10/2019 20:46

@ACMJ I have a weird heart burn feeling too 😂😫 I hate symptom spotting. I often google early symptoms and tick them all off in my head like ... mm yeah i was pretty tired thjs morning 😂😂😂😂😂 isn't everyone tired in the morning? 😂 it's the feelings of butterflies in my tummy that is getting me... when was the last time you tested?

@SavannahKT welcome! Mine was 8 days later and looks like @kylieeee was longer too!! Don't worry! I know someone who never had a withdrawal bleed, just an implantation!! Isn't that the dream 😂

@kylieeee welcome hun! Surely you are CD 21ish now? Not too long before you can test? What are your symptom spots so far? Xxx

OP posts:
kylieeee · 18/10/2019 20:50

@gegi thank you lovely! So according to Flo, I ovulated on the 9th which I think was round about right?! I let curiosity get the better of me last night and tested🤦🏽‍♀️ it was negative but I know it's too early so I'm trying to hold out until I'm due on next week and I'll test if AF doesn't show herself! (Although I do have another test in the draw that I swear is calling my name)😂 I've had a lot of nausea over the last few days, feeling ratty and tired - also probably tmi but I have mild thrush which I've never had before, I read that can be a sign but??? X

Izzie94 · 18/10/2019 20:58

@gegi hahhaha it takes over your mind doesn't it!? I swear I sit at work thinking allll day about babies, about prams I like, clothes I like, names I like 😂😂😂 ahhhh amazing, I always wanted children at around 23 but it just never happened, 25 isn't so bad though I guess 🤪😂 haha dtd is def the best bit, luckily me and dp have always been on the same level with dtd so it works well 🙈

Heartburn and flutters can be all pregnancy symptoms, Ive had them in the TWW before and so gotten my hopes up, buttttt were all different and it could just well be 🙊

@SavannahKT I wouldn't worried yet hun, can take a while for your body to kick back into shape. I was on my pill 10 years, it took me 6 weeks to get my period 😊 just keep dtd lots and lots!! You may not even get a period and fall!! (this is what I've always wanted, no dramas haha!)

@kylieeee Hiiii lovely!! Eeee so exciting!! Hope you've done everything this month and it's your month 💜 haha we all symptom spot like crazy, my Google history is probably worrying 😂😂 keep us posted and sending loads of baby dust!

Xx
