First time TTC - Coming off the pill. Anyone with me?!

Hi everyone!

Just wanted to start a thread after reading through some and watching.

I came off the pill 1st september, bled 8th-12th then spotted/light bleed again 21st-25th september.

I'm using Flo which I think is pretty inaccurate right now but it's saying I'm due on tomorrow.

No symptoms really - think any I have had have been in my head!

Hoping to find someone who is also starting their journey of TTC for the first time ☺️

@xoJellyBean I know how you feel. It's lovely that he is excited. My partner knows what I'm like when I really want something so think he's trying to not get my hopes up. What cycle are you on?

@JJ1994 cycle 1! Trying so hard not to get my hopes up. What cycle are you on? After learning all about fertile windows etc if baffles me how I know so many people in our town that got pregnant with a one night stand lol 😂

Ugh girls I need to rant😔 I stupidly went and bought a FRER yesterday after work, excitedly drove home imagining my BFP🤦🏽‍♀️ I took the test but noticed some light blood when wiping so I think my AF is here and I basically tested on my period, I feel so silly for getting my hopes up again.

It's so hard going this TTC malarkey! Spend weeks thinking ooooh I could be! Only for your AF to turn up like 'HA! You thought!!' 😩

@xoJellyBean cycle 1 too! I keep looking at pregnant people and telling myself that I'm sure at some point they were like me, waiting for a BFP!

@kylieeee it's really tough when you build the picture in your head and you get all excited about testing. I'm still struggling and my AF has already started. It was super light yesterday and just brown cm today so keep thinking it could be something else! I keep thinking I feel dizzy but I'm sure I'm making myself feel dizzy! It's all very mentally & emotionally consuming! We'll test at some point and it will be a BFP and it will all be worth it! Hopefully soon!

@JJ1994 ahh thank you for being so lovely! Before we started TTC I was all for being laid back and 'if it happens it happens' but I've been soooo opposite😂

I picture everything in my head and even have this silly idea of announcing to my mum at Christmas (would be her first grandbaby so I want to make it special!). I get her a photo calendar every year as a stocking filler, I would give it to her as normal and let her flick through and see what pics I've chosen for each month.. then put my scan pic on the month baby is due and a little note on the date. Her reaction would be priceless! I don't think I'm going to be able to do that now so I need to stop cooking up ideas in my head, I'm running before I can walk ...

@gegi blood tests were fine thank god! Got the results back today and 100% not pregnant but all my hormones checked out ok. She said that my progesterone was low but as I’m having AF (which I’ve guessed it is now!) then it should be low anyway so just to try properly later in this cycle! Only weird thing now is this AF hasn’t lasted long at all which is worrying me. Mon- spotting tues- proper AF wed- proper AF and it seems to be pretty much gone now. Hopefully doesn’t mean no ovulation this month 🙏🏼

I had terrible cramps yesterday but nothing today... no AF... all strange. Guessing ill wake up with af tomorrow... which is fine just want it to come and go asap 😂

Day 16 of bleeding, spoke with a gp today, everything is fine, they usual don't worry till the bleeding lasts 21 days. Apparently when you haven't had a period in a long time The lining of the uterus builds up causing you to have a longer period. Got some tables to help settle it down.
How is everyone else today?

@yellowpurple85 glad its all ok... I bet you are so annoyed bleeding that long though!!! I get moody when its been 4 days 😂

I'm still awaiting AF... 🙄 doesn't even seem like it's happening!!! Just them cramps!! I'm sure it will come just in time for the weekend 😂 but I'm 12 days late!!

@gegi it's been driving me crazy, happier now I have seen a doctor and know it's all fine. Just want it to finish so I can start next cycle and hopefully get into a rhythm, like I was before.
Is this your second cycle since coming off the pill?
I had to wait 89 days for my AF to arrive, apparently you can ovulate more then once if you have longer between AF.

@yellowpurple85 I've had a withdrawal bleed and some spotting so i guess maybe I'm waiting for my first period 😫 hopefully it comes soon x

Day 21 and finally finished my first AF. Can't believe it was so long. Just a waiting game now to see how long I have to wait for next one. How is everyone else doing?

Hi all, hope its ok join here. Im new to all this TTC and its quite daunting!! I stopped using the pill the end of September. Got my withdrawal bleed from 1 - 6 October. I didnt track ovulation or anything this month but im nearly certain that i ovulated around the 17th. Today my first AF arrived, would i be safe to assume that i am one of the lucky ones whos cycle returned to normal straight away?

Hey all! New here and was hoping I could join you ladies on the journey. I came off the pill and had my withdrawal as usual on the 23rd of this month which only lasted 4 days. We've decided to take the " let's see what happens approach " Yesterday would have been the first day for me to start my next month of pills ( I was on Cilest where you have 1 week break a month ) since yesterday I've had cramps and back ache and not sure why.... is it possible I will get another withdrawal bleed even if I've had it last week? 🙄 confused.

@JEMMA18 hey! I came off cilest as well but on September 3rd. I had a withdrawal bleed for 4 days from 6-9 September. I was on cycle day 46 before I got my first period (about 2 weeks late) and then it just randomly turned up!

@JEMMA18 also those symptoms are totally normal it’s just the pill leaving your body. I thought I was pregnant ALL month! Spent a load on pregnancy tests when actually it was just the cilest hormones leaving my body!

@ACMJ Hey there, oh it's nice to know I'm not the only one coming off the cilest pill. Glad to hear that is normal signs, obviously I was hoping it was early signs of preg but I know how unlikely it is due to it being so soon! If only eh!!! How you are you feeling ? Are you tracking Ovulation? I'm thinking of doing that once AF turns up ( if she does ) I was so irregular before taking cilest. 😭

@JEMMA18 honestly so was I! Totally convinced I was pregnant but wasn’t which’s as a shame but I’m glad AF came in the end. I’m ok thank you, like you I was so irregular before going on the pill, literally had about 2 periods a year so was so shocked that I actually got a real period 6 weeks after coming off it. I think because I have had a real one I feel a lot better, it was such a release of hormones as soon as I came on like they had been building up so once you have yours I am sure these symptoms will subside! I’ve been tracking ovulation for this cycle yeah, I did it a bit last month but with having no period I didnt know how reliable it was. On cycle day 8 now so approaching what should be my ovulation gap so will see if I get a positive result! I got so worried about my past cycle and it not turning up after pill so I asked the doctors for blood tests last week and they all came back normal so god knows what the irregular cycle was for!! I would say wait for at least 2 weeks after it would be due and go from there! So strange how the cycle works!

@ACMJ Oh it's just a mind field isnt it. I bought ovulation tests today to try and see where I up but your right I probs wont get a good idea until AF turns up. I have everything crossed for you that you get posstive Ovulation this month! And that's great to hear your blood came back normal, it gives you a peace of mind doesn't it.
I'm so glad to find someone in a silmar situation to myself.
I do hope the funny symptoms die down soon, I feel so ill with it.

@ACMJ literally no changes for me!!!!! I'm still awaiting a period. I've said a few things where my mums questioned if I am but every test I've done has come back negative 🤷🏼‍♀️ what about you?! X

Hey @ACMJ nothing new here really, been tracking my ov and I think yesterday was my peak. I was starting to get worried I wouldn't ov but it seems likely I have now or I am. I cant tell when exactly it is with the tests kits. Is the peak the time you ov or is it shortly after?
Anyway I have a long 2 week wait now until I'm suppose to see AF arrive. How about you? Anything new ?

@gegi no way!! I can’t believe you’re still waiting for it, sorry to hear that! You never know you could be ovulating anyway though so keep holidingn out. Have you asked docs for a blood test?? Mines a bit of a weird one I had AF for 4 days then started taking clear blue advanced opk kits. I got 4 days of blanks 3 days of flashing smiley then a static (peak) on Sunday evening but absolutely no EWCM at all, if anything I’ve got started to get more CM the last day or two, so I’m not more wiser on my cycle haha! X
