Hi ladies . I’ve just finished my period today and my husband and I are now going to start ttc our first baby after having my Mirena removed last week.
Is anyone else TTC this month ? I’ve ordered some ovulation tests after I said I wouldn’t because I’ve read so many success stories on them so I thought I might as well just so I have some in case !

I’d love for people to share their journey with me ! I’m 24, 25 in two weeks . So excited for our journey . I’m trying to figure out this whole lingo on here and stuff sorry! X

I’m 5/6dpo, have very annoying lower back pain but I do get it from time to time so I don’t know if it’s cause I’m sitting weird or I’m overthinking it! Also cramping/feeling af is coming but it’s not due until 21st! Other than that I feel fine, wish I just knew either way!!

han2291 · 11/10/2019 13:54

@Itsemily I definitely think trust the Clearblue over the Boots test!! In which case you totally could have DTD in time! Keeping my fingers crossed for you.. and welcome to the 2WW, it's fun hahaha.
Thank you for your positivity, it's much needed. This journey so far is such a rollercoaster of emotions. Doesn't help when the weather is gloomy.

@Niffler1988 that's good news about your cycle though, hopefully it'll be easier to track this month ☺️

My plans for the weekend are to stay as busy as possible and NOT think about TTC/the fact that AF should be coming on Monday 🤞🏼 the cramps have stopped today which is nice because otherwise it's like a constant reminder haha what about you guys?

notalwaysalondoner · 11/10/2019 15:56

We’re doing some house viewings over the weekend - trying to figure out if we want to stay in London or move to the commuter belt, it’s such a difficult decision! My sister-in-law who lives abroad is over for dinner on Sunday, so that will be great. She’s moving even further away in a couple of weeks so it will be goodbye for a while...

Then I think I will ovulate Wednesday so going to start DTD enthusiastically Sunday onwards!

Konbanwa · 11/10/2019 16:23

Hey guys! Still having off and on cramping feelings here even though AF isn't due for another 1.5 weeks. I have no idea what's going on!

Otherwise, I'm meeting up with some friends tomorrow and then going out for a sushi lunch with DH on Sunday. That should keep me busy enough to not be thinking about TTC all the time!

@notalwaysalondoner House viewing is exciting, although it does tend to get boring if you have to do it for a long time. We were viewing houses for 6 months before we bought ours and after the first few it gets frustrating not finding the right house! Hopefully you'll find something that you like in the first round!

notalwaysalondoner · 11/10/2019 19:35

Ooo one thing I’ve been wanting to ask you guys is what are you doing about drinking while TTC?
I’ve had a bit of a detox and haven’t drunk over the last few weeks, but don’t want to give it up altogether as I won’t be able to have a glass of wine for nine months once we’re successful! I’ve read that one drink every couple of days has no statistical impact on conceiving - what are you guys doing in practice?!

GaaaaarlicBread · 11/10/2019 20:05

Lovely to hear from all of you, thank goodness it's Friday hey!

@han2291 thank you, I think we are all helping each other massively and I am so grateful for this chat!
Definitely keep yourself busy and fingers crossed AF doesn't arrive Monday!
Without tmi, I think I definitely ovulated today as I have had all the symptoms. and man my breasts are so sore! And I feel so sick today but I think part of it was because I had an HR meeting at work (I go back Monday eek!) .
This weekend I have some friends coming over tomorrow for early birthday celebrations for my birthday which is next Friday, and then relaxing Sunday ready for work life again!

@notalwaysalondoner wow what a hard decision! I hope you find the house you're looking for, I am sure you'll make up your mind because you just know when you find the right house. My husband and I viewed 5 houses in the space of a week and we were close to buying our first viewing then we found this one and just knew straight away. Then when we bought it, moved in etc it was like the bloomin' money pit film! Absolute chaos lol! but it's so exciting especially if you're potentially moving out of town!
And to answer your question re: drink. I am not a drinker so I'm no help sorry, because I take Keppra and lamotrigine for epilepsy , you're not supposed to drink so I've never really been one for having a drink (I was diagnosed at 10 so I guess you can't miss something you've never rally had!)
Prep wise though I have cut down on caffeine (again, not a huge caffeine drinker though I'm more decaf!) . Generally looking after myself really. Stress is the big one for me!

@Konbanwa
sending you so many positive vibes!

@Itsemily Thanks for the positive vibes and I'm sending some your way too! Sounds like you have a fun weekend planned!

@notalwaysalondoner In regards to drinking, I'm generally just trying to cut down. I'm not really a big drinker anyway, and would only have a few at the weekend normally. Now I might be in the TWW I'm only going to have the odd one or two when out with friends.

Other than that, I'm restricting caffeine a little bit and just having one coffee at work per day and then a cup of tea when I get home. I don't really drink any other caffeinated drinks so that's not an issue for me.

Just had a cheese and pesto pizza for tea and now I am so full! What's everyone else had for tea tonight?

GaaaaarlicBread · 11/10/2019 23:18

@Konbanwa that sounds delicious !! I had chicken with salad tonight as Hubby was working late in obstetrics so it was just me ! Got leftovers for tomorrow now 😆
If we DTD last night , and not tonight (I think he’s far too tied tonight and like I’ve said previously I don’t want to seem like I’m forcing him!) is there still a chance I could conceive ?

@Itsemily you got the smiley face on Thursday right? I think they say you ovulate 12/48 hours after a positive and your egg lives up to 24 hours (I think?) so I'd say possible ☺️ you can give all the TMI you've got girl that's what we're here for haha hope the HR meeting went ok!
Sounds like a perfect pre birthday weekend.

@Konbanwa hope the cramps are a good sign for you! Are they like normal period cramps or just twinges? Sushi sounds perfect to me right now!

@notalwaysalondoner good luck with the house search! To prepare for TTC I've just been more mindful about what I'm eating.. I wasn't much of a drinker before (probably one G&T a week if that) so just decided to cut alcohol out and also limited my coffee to one cup per day ☺️ also been taking pre natal vitamins for a few months now so hope I get pregnant soon because damn those are expensive haha.

Konbanwa · 12/10/2019 09:06

@han2291 They are more like mild period cramps but seem to come and go throughout the day. They felt worse earlier in the week and I attributed them to ovulation pain but now they have eased off a little I'm confused about what they might be.

I think I ovulated on Monday but we had DTD on Sunday so I'm hoping some guys were still hanging around up there waiting 🤞😅

Overall I'm feeling pretty negative about this cycle and think we probably missed the boat. Definitely don't wanna get my hopes up about it although I did buy a packet of first response tests just in case!

@Itsemily Hope you have a fun day of early birthday celebrations!

@notalwaysalondoner Good luck with your house viewings!

GaaaaarlicBread · 12/10/2019 09:11

@han2291 yes I did! But hubby seemed to be in the mood last night and actually made the first move so hopefully we have been lucky but we will see. TWW is definitely on now !

Oh you’ve reminded me about the vitamins . @notalwaysalondoner I’m taking 5mg folic acid prescribed by my GP and have been doing for the last month now , I took Pregnacare before that. I other than that I’m not doing much else !

@Konbanwa that's how mine were feeling too, I wish we knew the cause!!! Definitely a possibility for you 😁🤞🏼 as miserable as it is I feel like it's best to keep your hopes as low as possible during this whole TTC thing, otherwise it crushes you every single month 🙁 I wish someone could just say "keep doing what you're doing and you will get pregnant on XX October" 😂

@Itsemily that's great! Sounds like you guys have given it a pretty good shot. Now to keep yourself busy for the next few weeks!

han2291 · 12/10/2019 09:32

I just re-checked my calendar and my first natural cycle off the pill was 27 days and my second one was 26.. I'm on day 26 today and now suddenly very panicky that AF will come tomorrow 😂 pleeaaassee stay away!!!!

BubbleBathLover · 12/10/2019 09:46

I definitely think we have missed it this month but on positive side if AF comes when it should then at least I will know that my cycles have went back to normal 🤞🏻

han2291 · 12/10/2019 11:17

@BubbleBathLover ah crap 🙁 but you're right that's a definite positive, it'll be easier to track next month! How long ago did you stop birth control?

GaaaaarlicBread · 12/10/2019 11:17

@BubbleBathLover that’s my attitude too! If AF did happen to arrive on the date it should then at least we know where we are ! I hope you’ve not missed it .
@han2291 I agree , keep expectations low and then it’ll be a nice surprise !
I hope AF doesn’t arrive tomorrow for you !!! Pleaseeee keep us updated !

OP posts:
Konbanwa · 12/10/2019 11:42

@BubbleBathLover That's a really good point and I'm gonna use that this month. If AF arrives at least it's another data point letting me know how my cycles are behaving.

Silver linings and all that...😂

BubbleBathLover · 12/10/2019 13:26

@han2291 I stopped taking the pill on 24th September, so this is my first cycle off of it. Definitely need to stay positive about it or we could go insane 🙈

@Itsemily Trying my best to keep this attitude, but it is hard! Hopefully after this cycle I will be more clued up 😂

@Konbanwa Definitely focusing on the silver linings 😂

han2291 · 12/10/2019 13:51

@Itsemily I will do! Even if I'm not pregnant I'd like my cycle to be a little longer at least, I've read it can take a few months to get back into its natural rhythm 🤞🏼

@BubbleBathLover you can fight it as much as you want but you will go a little crazy with this stuff 😂 so grateful we can all talk about it though!!

han2291 · 13/10/2019 01:53

Good morning ladies (thought it's still the middle of the night for you all!) I'm feeling a bit crampy this morning, I was in quite a bit of pain while out walking the dog but since I got back they've eased up. AF usually comes around midday so I'll check back in later 🤞🏼

How many times a day can one girl check her pants? We're about to find out 😂 hope you're all having a lovely weekend so far x

Konbanwa · 13/10/2019 08:56

@han2291 Morning! Hope that AF stays away and you get some good news! Will you be testing today or tomorrow?

I hope that everyone has been having a good weekend so far!

han2291 · 13/10/2019 10:41

@Konbanwa I think she just arrived 🤦🏻‍♀️ BUT I'm going to take positivity from @BubbleBathLover and appreciate the fact that my cycle was 27 days (instead of 26) this month and my body is still adapting post pill ☺️

Konbanwa · 13/10/2019 10:47

@han2291 Oh no! But yes take the positives from this in that you have more info about your cycle. Fingers crossed for next time! 🤞

I'm feeling really emotional and nauseous this morning. Trying to not symptom spot and just keep telling myself it's probably just because I haven't been sleeping well and I'm close to AF 🤷🏻‍♀️

han2291 · 13/10/2019 10:50

@Konbanwa sending all the positive vibes your way! Trying to not symptom spot is like telling yourself not to breath haha impossible! Keep us updated ☺️

GaaaaarlicBread · 13/10/2019 11:43

@han2291 oh no! Sorry to hear that, but like you say- keep positive and at least you’re more clued up on your cycle !

@Konbanwa I have my fingers crossed that you have some good news ! 💕

I’m having a lazy day today as I had a migraine last night and I’m feeling extremely sick today so I’m taking it easy as i am back to work tomorrow ! 😩😴
