Hi ladies . I’ve just finished my period today and my husband and I are now going to start ttc our first baby after having my Mirena removed last week.
Is anyone else TTC this month ? I’ve ordered some ovulation tests after I said I wouldn’t because I’ve read so many success stories on them so I thought I might as well just so I have some in case !

I’d love for people to share their journey with me ! I’m 24, 25 in two weeks . So excited for our journey . I’m trying to figure out this whole lingo on here and stuff sorry! X

Little update for this thread- So, my period from HELL ended Friday 25th October, and we DTD 26th, 28th, 31st October, then 2nd and 3rd November. And I am 98% sure I ovulated yesterday going by my CM , sorry TMI, but can't be 100% as I haven't used my OPK's this month, so if we continue as we have until period is due, do you think we have given it our best shot? DH really does not want to do every day as he says he just isn't in the mood for it after his long shifts, seeing as we have done it the last two days and he says he feels empty (lol) I would never want to make him feel pressured so will most likely do it tomorrow. But would you all say we've done OK so far? We have done it more than last month that's for sure!

CurbsideProphet · 04/11/2019 21:53

I would say you've definitely given it your best shot! We only DTD 3 times around my last ovulation.

han2291 · 05/11/2019 05:03

@Itsemily I'd say you've given it a pretty good shot! Your poor DH 😂 at least you guys can be honest with each other! Takes 2 to DTD after all.

@itsheapsswell he is no longer allowed in the bedroom in the evenings!!!
As far as I understand the cheap LH tests you can have barely a line one day and the next it's as dark as the control line - I don't think they show a gradual darkening or anything like that.

I'm 7/8 DPO today.. my boobs NEVER hurt before AF but since yesterday they're kind of sore around the top and sides. If I give them a prod they kind of feel like they're burning for a little while afterwards! Has anyone had that? My nipples are the same. I just ran down the stairs and they kind of ached as they "jiggled" 😂 I then proceeded to jump up and down on the spot to make sure hahaha. I don't want to get my hopes up but it's soooo hard not to 😞

itsheapsswell · 05/11/2019 07:16

@Itsemily you have for sure given it 100%. Also I read that message out to my partner as I KNEW he would feel exactly the same after 3 days in a row (we’ve done it 27th, 31st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th and I will probably want to do it every day now until the flashing Clearblue smiley goes solid and then disappears) and as soon as I said ‘I have never met a woman so desperate’ he looked at me deadly seriously and goes ‘I have’ aha!

I completely get that feeling though, in my opinion I can’t think of anything worse than feeling like I’ve wasted a cycle and then live with the regret of feeling like we haven’t given it our best shot.

@han2291 oh that makes me feel better. Had my 4th day today of the flashing smiley so I am keeping my fingers crossed for a solid one sometime soon!

GaaaaarlicBread · 05/11/2019 08:07

@Itsheapswell haha well I’m glad your husband agrees in a way then and it’s not just mine !! I said to him some couples do it multiple times a day and he just snort laughed lol

@han2291that sounds promising !! Good luck 💕💕

I was wondering whether anyone has experience luteal phase defect? I have been using a Femometer thermometer and app this month and it says it detects a possible luteal phase defect in my temperature readings. I’m slightly concerned. I have just signed up to the doctors near me so might mention it at my health screening next week.

GaaaaarlicBread · 05/11/2019 20:20

@Lea84ttc no idea sorry ! I don’t understand any of it . Let me know what the dr says

I am just trying to distract myself from feeling sad as even though I’m pretty sure I’ve ovulated , I want to continue DTD until period is due (which I think is next week but I have no idea as I’ve ovulated later than my app said ) but DH has said ‘by the way I am not up to sex tonight as work has been mental’ 😂 even though he said we can do it tomorrow which is fine it’s still within the aim of 2-3 days I still can’t help but feel disappointed lol

OP posts:
Lea84TTC · 05/11/2019 20:26

@Itsemily I will do. I think I need to ditch all these devices though.

Men go from moaning they don’t get enough to moaning the other way at times. I know I’ve gone from fairly frequent to we must DTD tonight x

CurbsideProphet · 05/11/2019 21:39

I don't even know what luteal phase means! It's all so confusing. All those years of avoiding pregnancy and now I want to be pregnant my brain can't accept that it's not going to happen straight away Blush Grin

GaaaaarlicBread · 06/11/2019 07:03

@CurbsideProphet same here, my app says I’m in that phase now but I don’t get it ☹️

OP posts:
CurbsideProphet · 06/11/2019 15:35

I've googled it and it means the lining of the womb is thickening in anticipation of pregnancy. I'm not sure why the phrase Luteal Phase was chosen Grin

Lea84TTC · 06/11/2019 17:27

@Itsemily and @CurbsideProphet I not sure why they would choose that name either. I’m just hoping the app is not 100% reliable and I’m stressing over nothing x

CurbsideProphet · 06/11/2019 17:39

None of the apps or OPKs are 100% reliable, so please don't worry yourself. If you look at the reviews there are lots of women saying the results are wrong etc.

So long as you're having periods, have a general idea of when you ovulate, and are actually DTD then I think it would be sensible to give yourself a bit of time off everything else?

itsheapsswell · 06/11/2019 17:43

Hi all, I had my solid smiley today! Definitely matches up with my BBT and I feel happy because we’ve DTD for the last 4 nights. Going on a run with work tonight to keep that blood pumping. Side note: does anyone know if the solid smiley means I’ve ovulated today or it means I will be ovulating in the next 1-2 days?

Baby dust to you all x

@itsheapsswell that’s great , especially that it’s all matching up .
With clear blue it means you can ovulate between the next 12-48 hours depending on when the spike started (that’s what the customer service team told me as I was unsure too and dh didn’t want to dtd on ovulation day last month as he felt pressure and I was mega worried ). But that’s why I’ve not monitored this month , I am sure I had more ewcm today , I’m all over the place but keeping up with dtd to ensure we don’t miss anything !!
@CurbsideProphet I agree , switching off from tracking is the best thing . X

Hi all! I'm new here and hope I can join in the TTC chat. I've just read through all the threads and I'm in the same boat as some of you guys - first month of trying Grin. I am due to start my period on Sunday and currently in the two week wait and very much symptom spotting. Unfortunately OH is not interested in talking about it and just wants to 'wait and see' but I'm struggling with nobody to share with!

Sending baby dust everyone's way xx

JEMMA18 · 06/11/2019 21:40

Hey Ladies. Been following this post and I thought I'd see if I can join. Currently ttc after coming off the pill. How are you all doing? Sending you all baby dust for November babies :)

han2291 · 07/11/2019 07:33

Hey @Lea84TTC ☺️ don't panic, I wouldn't take too much info from an app they're designed to be so average and general with the information! The luteal phase is the time between the day (or day after, not entirely sure) of ovulation and the day before your next period. They say if it's less than 12 it can cause problems because your body doesn't have enough time to produce enough progesterone to support a pregnancy.
I have done a LOT of research on it because mine has been around 10 days and I've been freaking out 😬 but some women report shorter LP's and have no issues with conceiving so don't worry ☺️ good idea to discuss with your GP if you're concerned though as they'll do a much better job explaining than me hahah.

GaaaaarlicBread · 07/11/2019 08:21

@moonpie5 @gemma18 welcome ! Thanks for joining us , and I am sending good luck your way for positive news !

I’m doing ok. I’m suffering from nausea today and bloating, and sore nipples . If my app is correct (which I’m a bit unsure of as I ovulated later than it said), I’m due to start my period on Monday but going by ovulation , my period is due later than that so I spoke to my husband and he’s said wait over a week to test just so we can be sure of any false negatives ! It’s horrible when you can’t tell anyone about ttc ! The internet is the best :) x

OP posts:
JEMMA18 · 07/11/2019 09:26

@itsemily Thank you! I am so glad I've found somewhere to vent 🙈 I know exactly how you feel about not telling anyone. 🙈
They all sound like positive symptoms that you have I have my fingers crossed for you it's so hard not testing early isnt it. And I know the day I get the bfp I will want to scream it from the roof tops but we've decided to wait until 12 weeks if that happens. The app confuses me too and so do the testing kits. Mines saying I'm at my peak now for ovulation but I had all my cramps and bloating last week so its left me so confused haha. I've never had regular cycles and this will be the first cycle since coming off the pill. AF would be due in 2 weeks if my cycle was to be regular... lol.

notalwaysalondoner · 07/11/2019 10:06

Gosh it’s all exhausting isn’t it! Good luck to you guys who are ovulating and in the TWW! @Itsemily fingers crossed for you! Last month I was happy I waited to test as sadly AF arrived a day late so there was wasn’t any point in the end but saves the stress of hoping against hope that any negatives are false.

I’m on CD7 so just waiting for ovulation. Have bought some cheap OPKs for “fun”, not sure when I’ll use them though as my working hours are super erratic (get home any time between 7 and 11) so will struggle to use them at the same time every day. My CM just seems the same the whole time so I really need to concentrate on telling any differences this month! Good luck to you all and welcome to @JEMMA18 and @moonpie5

AliSxo · 07/11/2019 10:50

Hey, AF got me today so I'm having a 25-27 day cycle pattern, not the result I wanted but new cycle and I'm hoping this is my month!! I'm going to follow the SMEP and do more OPK tests - I've not done the clear blue ovulations so flashing smileys are all foreign to me but if it doesn't happen this month I may try them out in December xxxx

CurbsideProphet · 07/11/2019 13:53

AF has started for me this morning. I've got cramps already and I'm at a work even facing the public. I just want to be at home with a hot water bottle Sad

GaaaaarlicBread · 07/11/2019 15:04

@JEMMA18 I’m just so tired it’s crazy ! Not felt like this before but don’t want to get my hopes up . And same here ! Deffo would wait till at least 12-15 weeks if I can help it . Knowing me I’ll have a massive belly early and unable to hide it lol ! How did you find being on the pill ? I know some women find it really good but then hard waiting for your cycle to kick back in !

@notalwaysalondoner thanks, fingers crossed for you too! I can’t wait to start seeing BFP photos on here ! Can you do the cheapies in the morning before work so it’s the same time each day ?

@AliSxo good luck! Share your experience with SMEP on here ! We did that last month but went for the ‘keys just do it every 2-3 days ‘ this month as it was much more chilled out and less staged !

@CurbsideProphet oh no!! 😭😭😭

Hey guys! Sorry I've been a bit awol lately but it has been crazy busy at work and I've been trying to not think about TTC.

But I have some good news! I finally started my period! Woop! It only took 45 days for AF to show up! 😅

Guess I'm back on the wagon and starting my countdown to ovulation!

I hope that you all are doing ok and wishing you lots of luck!
