@PineappleC that is GREAT news! Now just the dreaded 2ww! Good luck! I have everything crossed for you! 🤞🤞🤞

PineappleC · 02/03/2020 20:48

Thanks very much @FlapJackered 😊 I'm really pleased, and shows that all the delays and discomfort were worth it, as this will be our best chance of getting pregnant ever. I'm not very patient though so not looking forward to 2WW! 😅

How are you getting on - week 8-9 now!?

FlapJackered · 03/03/2020 17:21

@PineappleC I think I found the tww the hardest of the whole process! I recommend planing lots of fun stuff to take your mind off it.
Yes I am 8+4 weeks 😬 it is almost like a long tww waiting for the 12 week scan now. 🙈

RosettaR · 05/03/2020 07:51

That's amazing @PineappleC, you must be so pleased!

I heard today that the consultant has reviewed my results and says I don't need any blood tests. I'm now really optitstic that he will say we can move onto ivf - probably too optimistic as I will now be crushed if he wants other tests, or for me to have some treatment first. My appointment with him is next week and my af is due the Saturday after, so if he's ok with it I could sign up for hopefully EC in early May.

I'm now starting to worry about coronavirus though, and that either the clinic will close, or I will catch it and not be allowed in! I think we would go ahead anyway though if we can.

PineappleC · 05/03/2020 10:50

@FlapJackered ah that's great, that seems to have gone by so quickly! And yes, I'm definitely trying to plan a few things for this weekend, and work is distracting me from it which is good (I was planning to work a lot less but it's actually helping!)

@RosettaR ah that's fantastic news! Did you get to the bottom of the issues, or have they just said nothing else needed? I totally get why you're bracing yourself to be told otherwise, but I really hope you get proper confirmation in your next appointment to put you mind at rest 😊 And May is less than 2 months away!!

And thank you both. I am excited and relieved but very "tentative" at the moment. I've been having cramps ever since ET. Normally quite mild, but last night they actually woke me up. I think it's more like stomach trouble from the progesterone, but just means every time I go to the loo I'm expecting to see blood! It's a little bit stressful really, but I am still in the game so far 😊🤞😊🤞

In better news we also found out yesterday that another 2 of our embryos made it to the freezer. So that means out of 8 mature eggs, 7 good quality embryos - 1 back in me and 6 in the freezer. Delighted!!

RosettaR · 09/03/2020 18:13

So my appointment to get my results on Wednesday has been cancelled. I'm feeling really down, like between this and coronavirus I'm never going to be able to have a chance at ivf. I know that's not the worst thing in the world but I'm just feeling hopeless and sorry for myself.

starkid · 09/03/2020 22:17

@PineappleC - great news on all your frozen eggs!
@RosettaR - that sucks, did they tell you why?

So I'm back from Florida and it'll have been 4 weeks since I saw my consultant this week and not heard anything from him at all regarding my CA125 test, and to hear when I'll be having the NHS approval appointment at the IVF clinic... Which is really frustrating! I only had a letter with the meeting notes a couple of days after then saying will be in touch, but 4 weeks is a long time to wait right?

Also didn't do opks this cycle so not a clue when I'm due, but almost definitely in the tww now.

ValidUser · 10/03/2020 14:14

Hi everyone.

Did I miss anything interesting?

I've moved over to the April thread - ER for the week of the 6th. Starting 250 gonal f when AF comes.

BP was high, but that's settled and I'm good to go. (30, cycle 1, AMH 12.6, tubal stuff plus antiphospholipid syndrome.)

Also, we confirmed IVF rather than ICSI - DNA fragmentation results unexpectedly perfect.

ValidUser · 10/03/2020 14:16

(April IVF, I mean. Bad copy paste job. I will stick around here too!)

PineappleC · 11/03/2020 07:29

AF in full force here unfortunately! Started spotting from 5dp5dt and heavy bleeding from yesterday, even though I'm still 9n progesterone 🤷‍♀️ Really sad, but looking forward to a month of being normal before we go again. We're very lucky to have 6 in the freezer 😊

Welcome back @ValidUser I hope your own IVF goes much better than mine 😉

@starkid that does sound frustrating. Our letters always came through quicker than they said. Are you able to chase at all?

@RosettaR that sucks. Was the cancellation because of Coronavirus? Have they given you a new date?

starkid · 11/03/2020 08:21

@PineappleC - sorry AF got you Sad after all the effort! Make the most of the week off xx

I chased yesterday and they said the consultant had been getting a second opinion on my blood test before deciding if I'm good to go, then will send a letter with details on how to make the appointment for the NHS approval meeting at the fertility clinic

Lina365 · 11/03/2020 09:43

@PineappleC Sorry about AF - and also fantastic news about the frozen embryos! You have amazing chances now.

@RosettaR Sorry to hear you're feeling down. Everything seems a little less certain with the coronavirus news. I worry about the effects of the virus on IVF, too!

@starkid Yes, 4 weeks is soooo long in our situation!

I have to wait another 4-5 months for my IVF, but I'll still pop in here to see how you're doing. The wait seems like forever, but I've given myself lots to do. I also try to remind myself that it's soon going to be gorgeous weather. Hopefully that'll cheer me up.

Positive opk today, so I know what I'll be doing for the next couple of days!

RosettaR · 11/03/2020 18:26

@starkid that's really frustrating. Waiting for test results is the worst. Is it possible to ring the hospital and ask to speak to the company's secretary. That can help (depending on the secretary).

That's great you have it booked in @ValidUser. So are you on short protocol? I'd be interested to know because your amh is similar to mine.

@PineappleC sorry to hear AF arrived. As you say, you are still in a strong position with so many in the freezer.

@Lina365 I'm also looking forward to the weather improving. Hopefuy it will cheer me up!

So I chased my results today and the secretary hasn't been able to contact the consultant who has had to travel for a funeral. So I will likely have to wait until next week although she said she would try and get me a letter before then.

And to make things worse I just had some spotting. Af isn't due until Saturday so that will be two days early if it starts tomorrow, so my luteal phase will only have been 9 days this cycle. I don't know what's happened to mess it up so badly after how optimistic I was at the beginning about the lack of spotting after af. But that means there is now no chance I'll be able to register for ivf in May. I swear the universe is conspiring to stop an having ivf. I just don't think I'll ever get there.

ValidUser · 11/03/2020 20:55

@PineappleC so sorry the bastard got you. That's genuinely sad. Sending you so many hugs. X

@Lina365 I'm not worried about the virus itself (DH and I are doctors, he's in public health medicine and it's not a danger to pregnancy) but I am worried that the restrictions will cause a delay with our cycle. Very bad timing!

@RosettaR short protocol. 250 gonal F and cetrotide from day 5 of stims.

ValidUser · 11/03/2020 20:56

@Lina365 I think I tagged you by mistake. Apologies!

How are you coping with the wait?

ValidUser · 11/03/2020 20:57

@Lina365 no I tagged you on purpose. Head fried after a looooong day at work.

starkid · 13/03/2020 10:28

AF just arrived for me this morning. Didn't have sore boobs beforehand this cycle which threw me, but cycle 22 here we go. Also my consultant is arranging another ultrasound to check on my ovaries/cyst again as haven't had one since last June, before I can proceed with the IVF process. Urghhh. All the holiday efforts for nothing again.

Lina365 · 13/03/2020 13:16

@ValidUser That's what I'm thinking about - the possible delays in starting any treatment that isn't urgent. I'm not too worried about myself or a possible pregnancy, just hope anyone less healthy than me stays safe and is able to get proper treatment.

Some days I'm ok with waiting, some days I don't want to talk to anyone because I'm scared I'll hear happy pregnancy news and I'm forced to act normal.

By the way, I hope you and your husband keep healthy and all goes well with the current corona challenges - I admire all nurses, doctors and healthcare staff for doing such amazing work.

ValidUser · 15/03/2020 12:14

Gah, I think I've been delayed because of the virus! (I'm in Ireland.)

Lina365 · 16/03/2020 07:42

@ValidUser I think I'm in the same boat as you. I'm overseas, queuing for public healthcare ivf, and I've just heard rumours about appointments being cancelled.

RosettaR · 16/03/2020 08:02

@ValidUser sorry to hear you're cancelled! I'm in the UK and we have very little in the way of restrictions so far, so I've not heard of anything being cancelled yet. But if our government turns out to have made the wrong decision and the virus really overwhelms us then I can only imagine things will get cancelled. I am still going to book on if I can as we have no idea how long the disruption will last. And hopefully if it does get cancelled, that will mean I'm one of the first in the queue when they re-open.

It's going to be a really hard few months, but particularly for people in the health service, as you say @Lina365, so I feel I shouldn't complain too much!

RosettaR · 16/03/2020 08:04

Sorry af came for you @starkid. It doesn't seem to get any easier, and every month I hope for a miracle. We're almost in sync this cycle!

RosettaR · 18/03/2020 13:09

@ValidUser they have now cancelled everything here too. I am devastated really, we've got no idea when it will all resume and my AMH is already low so who knows what kind of chance I will have in a few months or years time. I also blame myself for not going ahead in January, we could at least have tried.

I'm hoping to get my results from the other tests tonight but it doesn't feel like it really matters now, even if it's good news I will struggle to be pleased.

starkid · 23/03/2020 21:07

Are people still TTC at the moment? I'm not sure what to do :(

KatBeCool · 23/03/2020 22:34

@starkid naturally lol. Not that it worked for us. I had a video consultation with ivf specialist earlier today, but they're not starting any new cycles due to Coronavirus. There are some clinics that are still open but they aren't as good. My main worry is PGT-A testing, it's so expensive but I guess necessary for my age. I was planning on doing at least one more IUI round, he said he'd just up Gonal F to 100-150mg from the 75 I was taking.
I don't think there's any other way to go through this right now other than naturally.
