TTC Baby number 1 - Looking for buddies

Hi Ladies 🙋,

I'm new to the forum so thought I'd look for some TTC buddies.
I'm 30 and TTC baby number 1, I came off the pill beginning of May and had a withdrawal bleed a few days later then got my first AF 4 weeks after that. Last month I sadly had a chemical it was gutting seeing the faint line go but I guess it wasn't my time!
AF arrived on time Sunday so looks like my cycle ranges from 34-35 days.
I'm currently taking pregnacare and using the Ovia app for ovulation, I'm thinking if I don't concieve by month 6 I'll try ovulation sticks. Onward to month 4 I go 🤣

I am new too and looking for buddies! We have been trying for 9 months after I came off the pill last May. My cycles are 32 days. I also use the app and have started this month to track my temperature to see if this helps me see if/ when I'm ovulating! x

Yaaay a TTC buddy haha. How are you finding doing the temps? I heard it can sometimes be challenging doing it first thing in the morning? I didn't think TTC would be this much of a emotional rollercoaster. They try and tell you how each it is to get pregnant but the truth is it's complete pot luck and timing 🤷

It's hard trying to do it at roughly the same time every morning but I keep it on the table beside my bed so it's the first thing I see when I wake up!
Yes, it's not what I was expecting. I found out a few weeks ago my little sis is expecting her first and as happy as I am for her, I'm sad for me and don't feel there's anyone i can share this with now except my partner. So thought I'd try and make a few buddies x

I'm 30
Just started 3rd cycle of trying
AF arrived on Sunday so currently CD 3
Normally have 26day cycles
I've been taking pregnecare, preseed & ovulation predictors.
Was thinking of starting basal temps, but I work shifts patterns so not sure how accurate it would be.

It's only been two disappointing cycles but it's so draining the emotional ups & downs of hope followed by disappointment.

How are you guys getting on?

I'm due on Friday / Saturday but praying AF doesn't arrive
Haven't been doing temps or ovulation sticks as yet but I do have 2 apps on my phone so we DTD lots on the days it said I was most fertile but not sure how accurate they are ?

Hey. I'm also TTC! Came off the microgynon pill in July, had a withdrawal bleed and have just ovulated with using the Flo app and OPK to track this. TWW now for me but fingers crossed for all of us xx

Hey! Thought i’d join you ladies, im 29 and this will be #1 for me if it happens too! Came off of contraception in march (my coil fell out !!!) and after a few months of letting nature take its course, and a false positive (?) last month we’ve decided to give things a go properly! Currently i think id be roughly 6/7 dpo but we aren’t doing anything to track times or anything - i don’t know how its all new to me! Hoping that this is everyones month :) xx

Hey @Hewie30 🙋🏼‍♀️👋🏻 I'm on cycle 4 also! 24 years old and TTC #1 and my cycles also range around 34 days 😆 I came off my pill on the 28th of April and had a bleed 2 days after however we haven't been lucky as of yet so on CD14 now this cycle

Hi @Hewie30 and everyone! I only just joined the forums last week myself. 31 (turning 32 in October), ttc my first from June, though we didn't try in July so I guess I'm cycle 1 or 2. How are you finding Pregnacare? I took it in the spring but it was making my cycles longer and didn't quite sit right with me, so I switched to just taking follic acid.

@flossy12 Morning cycle buddy 😊 Hope SMEP is going well still! When are you due to ovulate? I'm looking for signs like mad haha (also worried that we're ruining our chances with too much DTD haha)

Hi! I'm TTC # 1 too, I'm 33 so I am trying to be patient as I appreciate I'm older than the ideal.

I'm getting so impatient to take a test as it's my first cycle so time to test on Friday.

The waiting is killing me!

@Jade218 Not too long till Friday, hang in there! Have you had any unusual symptoms?

@Raizelrea morning 😆😆 it is! We've stuck well to the every other day since CD6 and I'm doing my OPKs daily now even though they are negative so far, aww bless, well I read something the other day that says it's good for your OH to keep to the normal 'alone time' they have as it helps replenish the sperm 🤷🏼‍♀️🤷🏼‍♀️ so surely you can't DTD too much 😆

@flossy12 Go figure! That's interesting! To be fair I'm glad OH is so enthused about it, was worried he might feel pressured but apparently not 😄

Haha! We've only had one incident of him feeling pressured but we powered through 😆

@sazzy18 That's a good idea keeping it by the side of the table to do in the morning! At least you'll wake up and remember to do it haha. Awh hun, that's really hard it must be a mixture of emotions for you. Happy for her but at the same time understandably sad because you really want a baby yourself. Your time will come hun ❤️, you never know you might be due near eachother! X

It is really hard, I never knew it would be this much of a emotional rollercoaster I thought I'd be able to keep calm and see how we go but now I just want my BFP 🤣. I think some ladies do temp in the afternoon? Would that be easier with your shifts? X

@talemon2 oh my god your coil fell out?! That must have been a shock for you 😨🤦, were you thinking of trying at that time? You got a false positive? What did you use? You sure it wasn't a chemical hun? Best of luck for this month 🤞 X

@flossy12 Welcome hun, your the same as me 😁. Other then I came off beginning of may so probably a week or so off 🤣. It's hard having long cycles isn't it! Makes you SO inpatient!! How you getting on? X

@raizelrea Welcome hun, ooo when's your birthday in October? Mines the 11th 🙂, I'll be turning 31. I'm finding it okay I've been taking it from just coming off my pill so to hear you and other ladies taking it have made your cycles longer is making me wonder! 🤔. I think I'm feeling ovulation pains though so I think I'll finish the pack then maybe switch to seven seas? What was your cycle length on pregnacare if you don't mind me asking? X

Hi @Hewie30 I'm 1DPO according to Flo, did an OPK yesterday and it was a solid yes, this morning wasn't as dark but still very visible! If I catch this month I'll be delighted xx sending you luck too xxxx

Not long at all!
I have had some symptoms but it could be AF.... before I was TTC I didn't really notice my body changes
But now I'm clinging to every twinge lol

I've had a bit of heartburn for about a week and fatigue . Also food taste a bit off
But as I say it could be Af and I'm just noticing now
Preying it isn't but trying not to get my hopes too high

@lifesforlivingandloving How you feeling you feeling positive? Oooo they sound like positive signs hun, especially things tasting different that's more pregnancy then AF I think 🙂🤞. It's so hard when pregnancy symptoms are similar to AF isn't it 🤦. But definitely do pay alot more attention now your trying rather then before! It's enough to drive yourself crazy 😂.
Thanks hun! I'm on my last day of AF, was gutted to come on because I had symptom galore. But hopefully September will be my month ❤️ x

@Hewie My birthday is 7 October, quite close to yours 😊 When I started tracking my cycle in January my cycles were mostly around 28-29 days, then it got to around 31-33 on pregnacare. It might be pure coincidence as I hadn't tracked it much before, but I figured I'd ditch them just to see if it makes a difference. Too early to tell either way! To be fair I don't know if the cycle being longer is necessarily a bad thing, not sure if they postpone ovulation or just prolong the luteal phase (which arguably would be a good thing for TTC)

@Raizelea How funny yeah a few days before 😊. Oh really? That's so strange isn't it! Im wondering whether to stop them then to see if it makes a difference. I've just brought 3m worth so won't waste them for now but definitely making me think what if I'm missing ovulation due to pregnacare changing my cycle! Xx

@Hewie30 I still have almost a full box left too, may well go back to it eventually but currently it's just chilling in the cupboard. I can't imagine it would hurt to take it, especially when you are aware it may affect your fertile days.

@raizelea Yeah that's true I'm sure it wouldn't be recommended if it effected ovulation etc. It's mad how much you think about all of this when TTC! How long have you and your OH been together? X
