First flashing smiley on clear blue advanced

Hi this is going to sound really daft but this is our 2nd cycle of TTC and thought this month we would try the Clearblue advanced OPK as heard good reviews and one of our friends used it and got pregnant so I started testing yesterday and got a blank smiley but today I got a flashing smiley don't know why but I'm quite excited about this. Anybody else had the same feeling when using them or just me? 🤣🤣 I had a feeling something was happening as this morning I started feeling bloated and been like it all day but according to my app tracker this happens 4 or 5 days before I ovulate and my CM has changed slightly tonight which I've been keeping a close eye on the last few months so fingers crossed this month x

I used them too and still remember the first flashy smiley. It was exciting but do you know what’s better?! Your first static smiley

A word of warning - I got fed up very quickly of flashy smiley faces as they seemed (and sometimes did) go on for days and seemed to mock me.

Good luck and fingers crossed. I used the sticks alongside preseed lubricant.

@Tobebythesea yes I've heard they can go on for days I'd been using cheapies OPKs since coming off the pill on April to try and work out when I ovulate. I've been ovulating between days 14 and 15 and I'm currently on cycle day 10 so hopefully will only get a few days of flashing before static.

How many cycles did you use it before getting your BFP? X

Hi @FearnRJ just thought I’d share my experience. I loved the clearblue opk’s. I used them for the first time in March and realised I was ovulating later In my cycle than I thought, I fell pregnant first time using them. Sadly that pregnancy ended in a mmc at 12wks. We started trying again this month and I had my on Wednesday after 7 flashing so now I’m my tww! Hoping we fall first time again.

As previous poster said the flashing smileys do get irritating but the joy of seeing that static is great.

Fingers crossed for this month for you! You will have to let me know how you get on.

We decided to start trying in July but to be honest was half arsed trying then AF came I was totally gutted but don't think we DTD enough and was using cheap OPKs so this month we mean business 🤣

The Clearblue aren't cheap either so I'm hoping we only need 1 months worth. Fingers crossed x

Another flashing smiley today. DTD last night but not tonight, tomorrow instead.

We are more or less doing SMEP as started DTD on cycle day 8 and every other day since x

The first time ever I used OPK in March I got a solid smiley in the first day! So happy! We got pregnant the next cycle after using OPK and temping - I got 2 days of flashing smiley before the solid.

Unfortunately we had a MMC at 9 weeks, gone for d&c and finally starting trying again this month. Today is my fifth day of flashing smiley, it is so annoying! Is it normal? I'm hoping I get my solid soon, bit bored of sex by now 🤣

@SunStruck sorry to hear about you mmc. It’s so tough. I had one end of May at 12wks. We’ve just started trying this month, I got 7 flashing before my static! So I think it is normal, depending on when you start testing, I started testing too early I think but didn’t want to miss it!

Hopefully you’ll get your static really soon x

So we did the first two days of flashing, missed one day then another two days then didn’t do it for 3 days and did it morning after the peak! I’m hoping we are covered but who knows 🤷🏻‍♀️ It’s hard when you get excited and do it lots but then 7 days of flashing was loads haha.

I’m 3dpo, hoping to potentially test next weekend which will be early but I’m impatient 🙈

We are doing SMEP along side using the OKP. Currently on cd 12. Usually ovulate cd 14 so hopefully won't be long until I get a static currently had 2 days of flashing and my CM is like egg whites today but haven't tested yet today as been out all day so will do it later.

Last month was abit of a hard arsed try but this month we have gone for it 🤣 x

Flashing smiley today again 😔 yes we're also (sort of) doing SMEP now as I'd be too tired to have sec everyday I get a flashing smiley, it's six days in a row now! We're gonna aim for every other day until solid smiley and then 3 days in a row. I really hope I'll get it soon!

Ahh ladies, I feel your pain but persevere, I had 7 flashing this cycle and was so ready to give up! 4dpo now, slowly making my way through the tww. I got my bfp at 9dpo last time so I know I’ll be eager to test by then.

7th blinking smiley this morning... I think my hormones is just a bit messed up because of my 2nd d&c two weeks ago, but I'm keeping on with temping (feels good to know some of you ladies did ovulate without getting the static!) and dtd every other day.

I will continue to test until I get the static no matter of how many boxes I need to go through, I'm going to catch that elusive O!!! The game is ON! 🤣

The good thing is that we're going on holiday on Friday for a week and will be staying at hotels, always nicer to dtd in a different environment without the pressure of work the next day lol!

How are you ladies getting on? So exciting to be in the tww for some of you x
