First flashing smiley on clear blue advanced

Hi this is going to sound really daft but this is our 2nd cycle of TTC and thought this month we would try the Clearblue advanced OPK as heard good reviews and one of our friends used it and got pregnant so I started testing yesterday and got a blank smiley but today I got a flashing smiley don't know why but I'm quite excited about this. Anybody else had the same feeling when using them or just me? 🤣🤣

I had a feeling something was happening as this morning I started feeling bloated and been like it all day but according to my app tracker this happens 4 or 5 days before I ovulate and my CM has changed slightly tonight which I've been keeping a close eye on the last few months so fingers crossed this month x

@FearnRJ on amazon! Can't remember exact price but think around 18 pounds? Check preseed as well as conceive plus there :)

Amazon is a good shout. I only used it for one month and there was loads left over. We maybe dtd / used it 5/6 times. I used it before and during as needed (Sorry tmi) and there was plenty for what we needed. X

I've been using easy@home ovulation sticks this month. I've used them for the last 6 days (twice a day) and they've all been negative. Today I used a clear blue digital and it was positive! What's all that about?! We DTD yesterday (CD 17). I'm hoping we're covered, we can DTD tomorrow (CD 19). Will I get a smiley face tomorrow on clearblue or do you only get a positive once a month?

@Yakadee it was static! I’ve done another easy@home and it’s still negative! I don’t want to have missed my window 😢

@thirteen92 - static means you're about to ovulate (24-48 hours I think?) so I'm sure you haven't. Get dtd. At least you did yesterday so that will certainly been before ovulation x

How is everybody getting on?

I'm currently 4dpo and trying my hardest not to symptom spot keep telling myself it's far too early...... easier said than done 🤣🤣 x

@FearnRJ I'm 3 DPO and I am the same! We did really well having BD every other day right throughout my fertile window and over ovulation. When are you testing? I'm going to test 24th August (that's when AF is due 35 day cycle)!

@thirteen92 AF is due 19th of August so going to wait and see if it arrives, as did tests last month and was disappointed when af arrives. This is our 2nd month trying but didn't DTD much this month only did it 4 days before ovulating and then the day of ovulation so haven't got high hopes this month, we did start doing SMEP but failed with it. last month DTD both days leaving up to ovulation and a few days before.

If unsuccessful this month we are definitely doing SMEP next month and going to use preseed too as heard good things about it.

How long have you been trying? X

@FearnRJ I came off BC in May but this is our first month properly trying and tracking my ovulation. I’ve not heard of SMEP before or Pre-Seed 🙈

The only thing I've noticed that's different this month is I'm having no symptoms after ovulating apart from really watery CM and I normally have really sore boobs, bloating and cramps leading up to AF but nothing at the minute x

Hi ladies. Just thought I’d update and say sadly AF arrived at the weekend which left me a little more devastated than I thought I’d be. Think the whole Mmc emotions came flooding back. I’m ok now and coming to the end of it and focusing on a new cycle.

I've been using these too. Stragely, I usually have 28 day cycle but didnt get flashing smiley til CD19 and then static til CD23 but thought I felt ovulation on CD22 . Good job I used these though otherwise I'd have expected AF on CD28 as usual and got hopes up - at least now I know I can expect a longer cycle this month. I'm now 2 or 3 dpo - hate the TWW!

@Lf803 how many days and when did you start testing? Maybe you ovulate later than you think? I have used them twice, first time it made me realise I ovulate late in my cycle (day18) and I conceived first time. Sadly had a mmc in May, so started using them again last cycle, I did get my static again day 18 but we weren’t lucky this month. You should get a static unless your LG surge is really short maybe and you’ve missed it!

@Bumpingalong84 last month I had flashing smileys for about 7 days but I tested later and it was right up to my AF so maybe I tested to late and missed it? this month I’m on CD 17 and I’ve only had 2 flashing smiley days then back to circle I’m so confused 😩

Hmm what day of your cycle did you start testing this month? Is your cycle 28days? Perhaps you are ovulating earlier (the average day is day 14) sounds like maybe you missed it this cycle. Maybe worth starting to test from day 11 or 12!

Alternatively to that your LH surge might be short and you just seem to miss it. They can honestly be so confusing these test and frustrating. The first time I used them I never thought I’d see a static but it finally appeared after 6 or 7 flashing. But I started testing on day 11 to be sure not to miss it!
