TTC first baby

Hi,
I'm on cycle 5 of TTC with first child. I used clear blue advanced ovulation test for the first time last month and have purchased another one to use this month also. I'm on day 7 of this cycle and am planning on starting ovulation testing on day 12 as I ovulated on day 17 last month. I have a pretty regular 27 day cycle (no longer than 29 days).
I know it's still early days but I feel like it's never going to happen. I can't imagine actually getting a positive result. Is anyone else in a similar position and want to be on this journey with me?
Thanks x

@littlelisa34 Thank you hun ❤️😍. Literally was in so much shock! You should see all the tests I've done 🤣xxx

littlelisa34 · 03/11/2019 21:12

@Hewie30 ha I was the same when I got mine although yours is going to be nothing like mine it's going to be wonderful and uneventful I just know it I'm so over the moon you've got your bfp..... how did your other half take it?? Xx

Hewie30 · 03/11/2019 21:24

@littlelisa34 I hope so babe! I'm totally on edge at the moment but trying to enjoy it 🤣. I've booked a early scan at 7 weeks. How are you ❤️.
He was really happy I handed him a digi and he went really? And a massive grin on his face. He goes what's 1 dash 2? Bless him 🤣 xxx

littlelisa34 · 03/11/2019 21:34

@Hewie30 it is Hun try and be positive your carrying your own little bean and that's all you need to be thinking about 😁😁 bless him I don't even know you both "properly" and honest I'm so pleased for you!! I'm good thanks Hun AF showed up for me which was rubbish so on cd10 now but not sure if my other half is going to be working away for ovulation so may have to miss this one but will see xx

Hewie30 · 04/11/2019 08:22

@Katie1109 I'm trying my best 💓. I can't believe I got a little human growing inside me it's surreal! Awwh thanks hun! We've been talking though since the beginning of is trying so it's been a while 😁😘. I've ordered another weeks indicator to see the numbers go up haha.
Ah booo AF 😔. Are you using opks or just the app? Xx

littlelisa34 · 04/11/2019 08:44

@Hewie30 yeah it is a mad feeling hun but a really good one 🥰 don't get stuck on them weeks indicator numbers hun I've read some horrible stories about them being wrong and freaking women out for no reason 🤯🤯 and we don't want you worrying or fretting for no reason hun.. yeah I use clearblue digital opks but I'm doing a lot of reading up on follicular phase and I think I ovulate too early for good implantation so I'm going to doctors within next couple of months to speak to someone about it hopefully I will get some good advice or help on that if It is too early xx

Hewie30 · 04/11/2019 08:49

@littlelisa34 Really? In what way? Making them earlier or later? Definitely trying to stay calm I feel I need to go to yoga 🤣.
Oh really? What makes you think that Hun?

littlelisa34 · 04/11/2019 09:15

@Hewie30 I've read loads on women getting the weeks saying earlier than what they are when they know exactly when they ovulated so they know how many weeks they should be.. so it causes panic thinking something is wrong when really it's just the stupid test, my friend was over 8 weeks pregnant when she got her 2-3 weeks when I showed her mine she was mad that I'd used the weeks indicator ones because they caused her so much stress.. I was completely stressed the short time I was pregnant and I feel like I ruined it to be hones so please try and just enjoy it Hun and I'm completely convinced it will be absolutely perfect for you 😁. I'm ovulating between cycle day 11-12 and from what I've researched you need around 14 days for good implantation for a bean to really stick in there, I have read loads of success stories about early ovulation and successful pregnancies but I don't want to just ignore when maybe it's something that can be helped.. xx

Hewie30 · 06/11/2019 12:26

@littlelisa34 Oh really? That definatly must have been stressful for her. It's hard because clearblue just goes by the HCG level and makes a guess from that doesn't it? I won't use them anymore then just incase. I'm trying to enjoy it but I'm so wary at the moment! I think once I get between 5-6 weeks I'll feel more at ease. Probably more 6 weeks I will. I'll be 5 weeks tomorrow.

Oh really? That's interesting I've never heard of that before. But that's great you've heard success stories because that means if you do then there's still every chance that you can get pregnant again and have a baby full term 😊. When you thinking of going to the doctor? Xx

Nicsfh80 · 06/11/2019 23:34

Hi @littlelisa34 hope you don't mind me butting in!! I noticed the other day that you had said you were worried about ovulating early, I was going to reply but wanted to double check I had my facts right first. My reflexologist says it doesn't matter how early you ovulate as the more time between ovulation and The end of your cycle the better. It is only a problem if you are ovulating late in your cycle as it doesn't give enough time for the egg to settle in before AF!! Hope this helps!

Maisy24 · 06/11/2019 23:56

Hi everyone.

I'm TTC first baby for a long 15 months 😫 however only been tracking since January. I have had all tests done at the doctors and they all came back fine, same for DH (other than morphology but apparently that isn't an issue with his high count).

Since January my cycles have been different lengths;, 24 the shortest and 48 the longest.

Jan- 27 days (ovulated day 16)
Feb- 36 days (ovulated day 22)
Mar - 43 days (ovulated day 29)
May - 29 days ( ovulated day 17)
Jun - 48 days (ovulated day 33)
Jul - 24 days (ovulated day 12)
Aug - 37 days ( ovulated day 24)
Sep- 29 days ( ovulated day 17)
Oct- (currently on day 15 and not yet ovulated)

I am wondering if the fact my cycles are constantly different makes a difference? I'm using my bbt and can see a clear shift in temp so I know I am ovulating and blood tests have also confirmed this (annoyingly I had them on the normal cycle lengths!

Anyone else similar to this or have any idea if it's an issue?

Thanks xxx

littlelisa34 · 08/11/2019 10:20

Hi @Nicsfh80 thanks for the reply glad to get any advice at all to be honest.. I though if you ovulated too early it didn't give the dominant egg enough time to mature which gave way for poor implantation?? I have read lots about women ovulating early and had normal viable pregnancies but just thought that might not be the case for everyone... xx

littlelisa34 · 08/11/2019 10:24

@Hewie30 hope your doing okay Hun 😁😁 your into your 5th week now woohoo....... I wouldn't use them again but don't let me put you off Hun whatever's makes you comfortable and more at ease 😁 but please step away from the tests once you get more relaxed 😁 I'm going to try this next cycle then go to the doctors we missed this one just gone as my partner was working away which felt like a complete waste of a month but I'm fine now I'm over it 🤬🤬 well sort of.. xx

Hewie30 · 08/11/2019 11:09

@littlelisa34 I'm doing good thanks babe! Can't believe I'm into my 5th week now, I've been lucky so far touch wood I've only had nasuea on and off and tiredness 🤞. Most definitely! I've stopped doing tests now and am just trying to relax. I feel anxious as a few ladies have been for scans and not seen anything in the sac so I've booked a early scan just to reassure myself but trying to remain realistic too.
Oh noooo how annoying 😔, isn't that just typical!!! I completely understand it feels like a waste of a month but think of it as a month of fun for you both before you start baby making again 😊.
The post by nicsfh80 that's positive!! 😊 Xx

tryingforbabyone · 08/11/2019 19:58

@Hewie30 when's your scan? That's so exciting I bet you can't wait!! Have you told anyone yet or is it just between you and your OH?
My AF is due on Sunday so I'm hoping it doesn't appear but staying realistic although you can't help have that little but if hope in the back of your mind an you?

Hewie30 · 08/11/2019 20:50

@tryingforbabyone It's booked for Saturday 23rd so in 2 weeks 😊. I was going to get it done at 6 weeks but the lady said they'll be able to see more and hear a little heartbeat at 7 weeks. I'm SO excited but also scared I'm just hoping everything's okay 🤞🤞. We've only told parents at the moment, we want to tell everyone at Xmas. Our plan if all goes well is to put cards in their Xmas cards that say their going to be a 'aunt, uncle, gran etc' can't wait to see their faces 😍.
Eeeek I've got everything crossed for you 🤞🤞. How you feeling symptom wise? Yeah that's completely normal too, you don't want to get your hopes up and be disappointed and that's fair enough! I always expected a negative and AF. Are you going to test or wait until your late? X

tryingforbabyone · 08/11/2019 21:06

@Hewie30 aww yes it's such a lovely time of the year to be able to to announce! I bet it must be so hard to stay quiet though and I'm sure those two weeks are going to dragggg! But it'll be sooo worth it! I'm so excited for you!
Symptom wise I havnt really noticed anything tbh which is partly why I'm convinced there will be no BFP but will wait until Sunday and see as i am usually like clockwork. I'll wait until m late though as I just don't think there is much point doing it early when it's more than likely going to be a disappointment and a waste of money. I almost think it's harder reading a no they AF arriving too so we will see.

Hewie30 · 08/11/2019 21:35

@tryingforbabyone Yeah it's turned out really well and it was actually my other halves idea on how to tell them too 😂. Oh my god hun it's literally dragging SO frigging much if feels like I've known and been waiting for months already lol! Yeah it's so hard to be quiet but I definitely want to know everything is okay first! It's so anxious waiting. Thank you ❤️.
No symptoms are good honestly, I got symptoms every month and got negatives and this month I had NO symptoms and boom got my positive so you never know this could be it for you!
That's completely understandable the disappointment is awlful. Although if you were tempted b&m do clear and simple tests for 99p and their a £1 something in savers. Their sensative and came up with a line for me early at 11dpo before a frer x

tryingforbabyone · 08/11/2019 22:03

@Hewie30 oh that's interesting I'll have to get some of those and hopefully soon they'll give me some good news! Have people known you've been trying?

Hewie30 · 08/11/2019 22:23

@tryingforbabyone Definitely do their nice and cheap but also surprisingly sensative! Only my best friend did but no one else. We didn't want constant questions. Have you guys told anyone your trying? X

tryingforbabyone · 09/11/2019 06:57

@Hewie30 only my mum and best friend know but since they've know they've actually stopped asking which is better because it's no secret that I've always wanted to become a mum.

tryingforbabyone · 09/11/2019 09:10

@Hewie30 don't know what came over me this morning and had a real urge to test so I did and again a bfn but I guess at least I'm not having to wait on tender hooks for AF to arrive and I know I'm out this month and into cycle 10.
@littlelisa34 this may sound like a silly question but are both you and your partner booking appointments to see the doctor or are you just starting with you?

littlelisa34 · 12/11/2019 21:11

@Hewie30 I'm glad your trying to relax hun it'll help the two week go by quicker aswell if your more relaxed.. I bet you can not wait for that early scan you must be so excited. And I know hearing other stories gives you anxiety but that isn't going to be the case for you Hun, your going to go there and hear a lovely strong heartbeat and see your little sticky bean 😁♥️.. I'm just waiting for AF now to start my next cycle hopefully this one will be a good one 🙂.. cute way to tell people plus it'll be an even better surprise as some people don't know you have been trying xx

@tryingforbabyone we are both going to be seen because I want us both checked out just in case it's either one of us or a combination of both and I honestly don't want to waste anymore time to be honest so after this cycle I'm going to book an appointment.. sorry about your BFN but this is a few days ago so maybe AF didn't show, well that's what in hoping anyway.. hope your okay xx

tryingforbabyone · 12/11/2019 21:43

@littlelisa34 AF did show ofc but onwards and upwards. It must be our time soon! I'm onto to cycle 10 now. What cycle are you again? I was also hoping to get myself and OH booked in as I agree it could be either or a combination so it's important to both see what you can do.

littlelisa34 · 13/11/2019 20:38

@tryingforbabyone yeah it definitely must be some good news sooner rather than later, I'm on cycle 9 now but it honestly feels like cycle 900... I'm definitely getting booked in don't want to wait any longer now xx
