Hi,
I'm on cycle 5 of TTC with first child. I used clear blue advanced ovulation test for the first time last month and have purchased another one to use this month also. I'm on day 7 of this cycle and am planning on starting ovulation testing on day 12 as I ovulated on day 17 last month. I have a pretty regular 27 day cycle (no longer than 29 days).
I know it's still early days but I feel like it's never going to happen. I can't imagine actually getting a positive result. Is anyone else in a similar position and want to be on this journey with me?
Thanks x

@littlelisa34 thanks for your message. I spent the weekend feeling sorry for my self but back in the real world now I think. Oh that's interesting what does that mean? I've been worried because I was in the pill for years and cake off in December. My AF started pretty soon after that and is very regular however since coming off the pill my periods only last about 3 days and are very light which seems strange because it never used to be like that! But then that was years ago before I was on birth control :/ I feel like now its cycle it's not going to happen and there just be something wrong because statistics say like 80% of people conceive in the first year and so I don't have long now!

littlelisa34 · 16/10/2019 09:48

@tryingforbabyone from what I've sort of gathered on line if my follicular phase is too short then it doesn't give my egg time to mature enough which causes poor implantation.. I'm no expert so I'm not 100% on all the "facts" but it's something I'm definitely going to keep an eye on and mention to the doctor when I have to go.. you've got four more cycles before you hit that year mark yet hun that's still four more chances to get your positive. Your AF changes over the years anyway hun so maybe that's what they would of been like even without the birth control after a few years. Been looking into foods and different things to help implantation so going to give some new things ago next cycle instead of sticking to the same routine. X

Hi girls, hope you don't mind me commenting but I have been seeing a reflexologist and a gynaecologist and hadn't realised the importance of the length of your cycle etc. They seem to shorten as you get older so it's important know how long they last, what day you ovulate on and how long your period lasts and to keep a record so you can give all the info if you end up going for treatment. As far as I know they can give you medication to make your cycle last longer. I also have noticed that mine are longer since I've had reflexology so that could help you too.

littlelisa34 · 16/10/2019 12:19

@Nicsfh80 thanks.. I was wondering if you had to have a lot of specific information for when you went for tests etc. X

Nicsfh80 · 16/10/2019 12:32

It was my reflexologist that said the more info I had the quicker they could give me answers as they will want to know all that so if you don't know then they will have to wait a couple of months to get all the info together. My cycle was down to 23-26 days and my period only lasted 2 days but this month my cycle was up to 27 days and period lasted 3 days, don't know if it's because of reflexology or not but I'm happy. I would definitely advise seeing a specialist as I was really stressed but since I have been I feel like I've passed my worries onto her and she will sort it all out lol!!!

littlelisa34 · 16/10/2019 13:54

@Nicsfh80 yeah makes more sense to have as much info as possible.. I'm giving myself two more cycles then going to see the doctor and try and push forward that way.

tryingforbabyone · 16/10/2019 18:44

@littlelisa34 yes I agree I'm going to wait a couple more and then go to

Hewie30 · 16/10/2019 18:47

@littlelisa34 Hey hun, how are you? Sorry I haven't been about. I ended up having another chemical an oh felt pressured so we've just been doing the laid back approch and dtd when we want this month so far to see how that goes.

How are you?

littlelisa34 · 23/10/2019 09:10

@Hewie30 Hi Hun good to hear from you.. really sorry to hear about the cp Hun I know how hard all that is.. I'm good thank you I'm the TWW at the minute so that's dragging like mad but other than that I'm good xx

tryingforbabyone · 24/10/2019 22:06

Has anyone else experienced where their OH is unable to ejaculate? I'm sure it's all psychological and largely to do with the pressure of having been trying for 9 months with no success and that fact he sees me so upset (which I feel dreadful about and really try to hide) but I don't really know where to go from here? What happens if he can't ejaculate? It'd never been a problem before.

Nicsfh80 · 24/10/2019 23:08

Hi tryingforbabyone this happened to my OH last month and I was really upset and couldn't sleep the whole night thinking what if he is feeling too pressured and is never able to, I worried the whole next day thinking that he was worrying to but that night we tried again and he was fine! I spoke to my reflexologist and she suggested he had reflexology too to relax him and also for me not to make a fuss when it happened so he didn't feel worse about it. Hope this helps to make you feel a bit better!

tryingforbabyone · 25/10/2019 08:51

@Nicsfh80 thank you for your reply! It's happened the last couple of months which is what has worried me but is your OH okay now? Also how do you find reflexology? It's something I've looked into.

Nicsfh80 · 25/10/2019 09:22

Tryingforbabyone my OH has been fine this month, it happened a few times over the last few months but every month is different so I've tried not to worry too much.
Reflexology is brilliant, my cycles were getting shorter each month and my period was only lasting 2 days but after 2 sessions of reflexology my cycle and period are both longer so I'm really pleased. I would definitely recommend it!

tryingforbabyone · 27/10/2019 17:51

@Nicsfh80 do you mind me asking how long your AF now? I'm finding mine only last 3/4 days and are only very light. I'm not sure if that's a problem or not? Also what cycle are you on?

Nicsfh80 · 27/10/2019 19:17

@tryingforbabyone my cycle had gone from 28 days down to 26 and some months even 23-25! My period was only 2 days so after 1 session of reflexology my cycle was 27 days and my period 3 days. I know not a massive difference but from what the reflexologist and my gynaecologist said every extra day helps!

Nicsfh80 · 27/10/2019 19:22

@tryingforbabyone we are on cycle 4 as we started as soon as we got married at the end of June but we had been trying on and off for 2 years but during that time my OH had a accident and also because we got married in France I didn't want try for the 9 months coming up to the wedding which I think now was probably a mistake!!

Hewie30 · 29/10/2019 15:17

@littlelisa34 Thanks hun it's really gutting!! How's the 2ww going? Are you getting any symptoms?

@Hewie30 oh wow I'm so happy for you! You must be so happy!!

Hewie30 · 29/10/2019 22:49

@tryingforbabyone Thanks hun. Yeah I'm over the moon, I refused to believe it until the second one! I've just done a Digi and it says 1-2 weeks so I'm happy 🤣. What cycle are you on now? How you getting on?

tryingforbabyone · 30/10/2019 18:06

@Hewie30 yes I bet it must be the best feeling! Did you try anything different this month? Did you have any symptoms? I'm on cycle 9 now and 1dpo. What cycle were you on?

Hewie30 · 30/10/2019 18:16

@tryingforbabyone It really is I keep doing tests just go make sure 🤣. Erm it was my second month of doing opks and I dtd on peak day so day before ovulation. The others months before I just dtd every other day so id say the opks and luck 🤷.I didn't really get any symptoms this month only backache at 5dpo then cold symptoms so feeling groggy and not great from 7dpo. Best of luck hun! You using opks?

tryingforbabyone · 30/10/2019 19:35

@Hewie30 oh wow that's great! It's so nice to hear a success story! I'm using opk and have been for about 6 months so hopefully it'll happen soon!

Hewie30 · 30/10/2019 19:40

@tryingforbabyone It definatly will just keep going with them. I forgot to say it was our 6th cycle. Also my friend recommended clear and simple pregnancy tests, you can get them from savers or b&m. They only cost me 99p and their very sensitive they gave me a faint positive at 11dpo

tryingforbabyone · 03/11/2019 20:55

How are you getting on @Hewie30 ?

littlelisa34 · 03/11/2019 20:58

@Hewie30 CONGRATULATIONS HUN 😁😁😁 I am so bloody pleased for you.. I hope you have the happiest healthiest 9 months xx
