@Realitysucks I am shocked, I had my boy at 40 and was fully supported for a home birth.. you do what is right for you... 💕💕

Cleozeta · 20/10/2019 10:30

Reality - I'm surprised they are pushing that on you, it's usually the other way around as a natural birth is cheaper for the NHS they tend to steer people that way. I could be because still birth risks are higher over 40, but if you had a successful natural birth before there is no reason you can't again. I think you'll find you get a different outlook in another area.
I have had a consultant appointment made for me automatically to discuss c-section as I've had 2 c-sections perviously so it's assumed I will again. I had considered trying for a natural birth this time, but not sure it's wortb the risk as my first attempt at a natural birth nearly went very horribly wrong

tiggerifficmummy · 20/10/2019 18:01

Hi ladies, I'm new here hoping it's ok to join? X

NicLondon1 · 20/10/2019 21:30

@Realitysucks that is so rude! I would probably make a complaint about that kind of attitude... snorting especially, how patronising!

@Chatbash72... so... have you tested yet...?!! fingers crossed!

@Russkispy well done on the transfer, what an emotional weekend you've had! Fingers crossed for you too.

And welcome, @Widdendream77. So sorry for your losses.

I too have just been diagnosed with some immune issues - well currently only Thyroid antibodies. Not sure yet what that means. Will talk to the doctor this week and am still waiting on results of further blood tests from the Recurrent Miscarriage Clinic... Immune issues are a whole new world I'm delving into now.

Chatbash72 · 21/10/2019 09:23

Welcome @tiggerifficmummy
@NicLondon1 currently day 32... which I'm normally about 27/28 in a cycle not testing yet as have once been to day 35... slight nausea in day.. not much appetite.. we'll see

tiggerifficmummy · 21/10/2019 10:39

Thank you @Chatbash72 a bit about me - I'm 40 have two dc from previous relationship but none with current partner. We've been ttc for 17 months but know he may have slow swimmers, currently on cd36 with many bfn and normal c26-31 so rather late but no bfp 😫 which is driving me crazy and panicking me a little that something is wrong 😕 but have pregnancy symptoms too!

When are you going to test? X

SparrowSG · 21/10/2019 13:06

Hi All,

Chatbash everything crossed for you, I think it sounds promising...

Cleo good to hear all is going well so far, and hoping the NIPT test results come back ok too.

Russkispy, great news on the transfer, good that your dad will be visiting to distract you in the TWW.

hmmm123 after my MC earlier this year the consultant told me that as we get older it does take longer for our bodies to get 'back to normal' hormonally, it took a while for mine to but I did go back to regular cycles as soon as one started.

As for me my IVF cycle was a complete disaster. I did 4 evenings of stimulation meds before arriving in Athens and having my scan, only to see nothing had happened. No follicles in one ovary and only two tiny ones in the other. Dr warned me then that if results of blood tests came back showing no response he would cancel the cycle and that is what happened. A further scan a couple of days later showed the same. Although I was expecting not to have a great result, I really didn't think I would have such a bad response.
After the scan Dr basically advised me that I should call it a day and that he will not offer me any more cycles with my own eggs. I can understand why he said this as the chances of me getting pregnant are minute and he is honest enough not to want to take my money/have me go through all the emotional/physical effects of IVF again. But....whilst I am still having regular cycles and ovulating I am going to find it very difficult to give up and not have another try. Crazy as it may seem.
This time we went back to the high stims/taking the pill the month prior to cycle protocol that was successful back in 2016. I would like to try the low stims cycle that we did last year that I did not get a BFP from but we did get two good looking embryos. So I am having a video consultation with a different clinic in Athens on Wednesday to see what they can suggest and to make a request to do another low stimulation cycle. If we do another cycle and again there is no response then I will know that we tried all we could, and try to accept that I will not be able to give my precious DS a sibling.
Sorry for the long rambling post!!

Wishing everyone a good week Flowers

Ahhhh at my parents.. bought a test going to try and secretly test tomorrow morning because I'm 5 days late on what would be normal for the last 2 cycles.. nipples ( sorry) are really sore, v constipated ( sorry again ) but not drinking a huge lot and eating is deffo not up to normal standards.. on and off nausea but stressing when I don't feel it.. which is a laugh because on 2 pregs I had HG..
@SparrowSG sorry things have gone not gone to plan with the cycle... keeping fingers crossed that another clinic can help.. xxx
@tiggerifficmummy tomorrow but my parents is prob not a good place to see a BFN.. hubs and I are out tomorrow night so I will be alone in a hotel room on Wednesday.. maybe a safer place to have a cry 😢
I could just be a little early for you.. text again in a few days xx

tiggerifficmummy · 21/10/2019 23:22

Fingers crossed for you @Chatbash72 I've held off testing today but think I'll try again in the morning as will be a week late then. In the 17 months I've been tracking I've never been longer than 31 days which makes me hopeful but also makes me sad when I get that bfn!

I have the same symptoms as you (also very windy 🤣🤣) so fingers crossed for us both x

Chatbash72 · 22/10/2019 08:04

Did it this morning and was neg 😞 could just be too early or my af is now playing silly buggers or just having a random long cycle 🤷‍♀️ @tiggerifficmummy

tiggerifficmummy · 22/10/2019 08:11

I've just done mine and it was also a bfn so disappointing! Every time I get that negative I start thinking maybe I'm just making the symptoms up! But I've never been a week late this is so frustrating! What will you do now @Chatbash72 ? I'm thinking I'll try and wait until Thursday to test again then maybe make a docs apt but I know how unhelpful they can sometimes be 😞

Chatbash72 · 22/10/2019 09:21

@tiggerifficmummy ohh no, I'm not sure what I'll do, not sure I fancy a dr just commenting on my age.. so I'll just wait an see..

Chatbash72 · 22/10/2019 09:45

@tiggerifficmummy as my bestie just said to me, we might just have ovulated late so it's a bit too soon.. 🤞🤞🤞

Catclock · 22/10/2019 10:14

Eeeee if I do end up with a BFP I'll be wanting an ELCS lol. ! I'm happy to hear the medical profession are very open to it.

Jojowash · 22/10/2019 11:20

Hey guys! Was in this group but sadly had a second mc and d&c 10th October x

Couldn't bring myself to come in but after doing lots of studies wanted to share this link with you.

It's been classed as the over 35 wonder drug for both males and females.

natural-fertility-info.com/antioxidant-ubiquinol.html

Have a look and if you're still TTC maybe give this a go, the sooner you're on it the better as it ups the egg quality x

Good luck to you all lovely mummas!

Jojowash · 22/10/2019 11:23

@tiggerifficmummy

Hey get him on ..

natural-fertility-info.com/antioxidant-ubiquinol.html

tiggerifficmummy · 22/10/2019 11:37

Thank you @Chatbash72 my fingers are still crossed for the bfp even though I know it's unlikely! And thank you @Jojowash I'll take a look! X

rubyroot · 22/10/2019 17:36

@Jojowash I'm 41, I had the attitude if I keep trying hopefully I'll get the right egg. After a tfmr at 13. 5 weeks and a chemical 5 months later, it appears I may have the right egg as got pregnant straight after chemical with no period in between. 🤞20 week scan soon which I'm very anxious for.

Chatbash72 · 23/10/2019 07:15

Well I start 34 a little confused.. still no af.. were away in hotel last night with hubs.. a very rare occurrence so dtd, and was expecting some spotting afterwards perhaps but nope so far nothing 🤷‍♀️

Chatbash72 · 23/10/2019 07:15

Day 34 not age 34🤣🤣🤣

Realitysucks · 23/10/2019 09:27

Hi ladies hope all are well. So a bit of a weird one but need advice ! So I’m really worrying about my weight already! With DS I was 24 young and thin 🤣🤣 however I still went from 10st (5ft10) to 14st 9!!! Son was 8llb 11 so was a big baby very long ! Day after birth I had gone down to 12st 9 so I literally had 2 stone of baby, water and placenta ! I lost most of the weight in a year. However as I got older weight slowly crept back on and I fluctuated between 11st 5 and 12st 10. In July this year I was 12st 10
partly due to 2 rounds of ivf stimulators as I was 11st 10 when I started in January. I went on holiday drank lots of gin! Put on 4llb, when I came back I lost it within a week ( no more all inclusive or gin!)

Found out I was pregnant 3 weeks later 😬. Obviously I was super worried and basically was doing no running or any excessive just to keep In a sticky bean. I’m nearly 15 weeks on Monday. Just weighed myself, which ive been doing every week and was hovering around 12st12 -13st. This morning I’m 13st 4 wtf! Really need to do some exercise bump is big and at 12 week scan again baby is long! I really don’t want to get bigger than I was last time so thinking maybe I should try some light running now I’m not so tired and swimming ( last pregnancy at 8 months I was swimming 50 lengths of an Olympic pool 4 times a week)

Do you think there is no hope and it will be what it will be or that I need to try and curb it quickly ? Can’t believe in 2 weeks I’ve put on nearly 5llb. I’m not eating crap and am eating healthy lots of fish and veg. 😬😬🙄

Realitysucks · 23/10/2019 09:28

@Cleozetta you ok? When do you get NIPT results? Am thinking of you x

tiggerifficmummy · 23/10/2019 09:59

@Chatbash72 I'm with you on the confusion but trying to stay in the positive it could still be a positive side! Day 38 for me!

@Realitysucks congratulations! As for the weight thing I've not much insight as I had my two dc when I was mid twenties and a couple of stone lighter but imo I'd say maybe walking and swimming would be good but I wouldn't stress over the weight, you're going to gain and if you're eating healthily that's the main thing 😊

Cleozeta · 23/10/2019 10:41

Reality - I think to a certain extent what will be will be with weight. At least it means baby is growing well. I would try not to worry too much, but you could always add swimmimg into your routine as that is supposed to be very good for us during pregnancy (useless for me though as I can't swim 😆)

I am doing fine thankyou. Scan and NIPT is next Tuesday so fingers crossed for that.

Were you on progesterone? If you were, when did you stop? Some places say 10 weeks some say 12. I've got enough supply uo get me to about 11 but can get more if I need to.

Also are you taking daily asprin? What brand? I went to boots but could only find gastro resistant and it says not to be used in pregnancy, although it's 75mg as was indtructed by midwife

Realitysucks · 23/10/2019 11:38

@Cleozeta thanks I think your right on the weight but going to try and keep it down as much as I can.

Yes I was on progesterone x 2 Injections One in the morning and one in the evening till 10 weeks. Then from ten weeks 1 in the evening till 12 weeks. I had some left over and had appointment with obstetrician who said just finish box so didn’t actually stop till 13+3.

Also on aspirin 75mg brand is the same Gastro Resistant and my clinic put me on it. When I saw obstetrician she said the recommendation is actually 150mg a day so she upped it to 2 a day in the evening before bed.
