I'm still here.

@Realitysucks nice scan photo! Glad all is going well!
@Cleozeta how are you doing?
@rubyroot glad all is progressing well!

How's @Rose68 @KCM99 @SparrowSG and everyone else?

AFM, flying to the clinic tomorrow and have transfer on Saturday. Gone through DE process and have 12 top quality blasts in the freezer. Will be transferring only 1. Can't believe the time has finally come. It's been a journey and a half! Failed IUIs, IVFs with my own eggs, trisomy in 18. 3 MCs. All in the space of 18 months. Big sigh 😔
Hopefully it will be my last trip home/clinic for fertility purposes. 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻

Realitysucks · 17/10/2019 16:47

@Russkispy aww good luck, I really hope it goes well for you x

Russkispy · 17/10/2019 16:53

@Realitysucks thank you! Will keep you posted! 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻

Cleozeta · 17/10/2019 17:37

Russkispy - I hope this will be the happy ending in your long journey. The rainbow at the end of the storm as they say. Good luck.
I am doing fine thankyou. Plodding on until my NIPT test in just under 2 weeks. Bricking it about chromasome issues. I decided to read up on stats yesterday to 'put my mind at rest' but ended up making it worse. Apparently at my age it's about 1 in 33!! Much worse than I originally thought. Now stepping away from google.

Widdendream77 · 17/10/2019 18:00

Hi ladies, I’ve been lurking for a long time but thought I’d join in for a bit of moral support if that’s ok. Both just turned 42, been ttc number 2 for almost 4 yrs with 7 losses in first trimester along the way. Under recurrent miscarriage clinic and had a diagnosis of immune issues from Coventry clinic, last loss was in July and found to have monosomy21. Dh and I have lost a lot of hope in the last year tbh and went last week to a private fertility clinic for a last check that there’s nothing else to try, Dh was grilled on his lifestyle and he’s having a three month no red meat teetotal health kick to try to give us the best last chance. I take all the usual supplements, vit d, multi, ubiquinol etc and have been no alcohol for a loooong time with everything. So there we are. Last chance saloon time for us as it’s taken it’s toll.

rubyroot · 17/10/2019 18:07

Awww @russkispy you've been through a lot. But I'm sure this will work out for you. X
@Cleozeta. How old are you again? I'm 41, and t21 pregnancy last pregnancy. I too am worried about chromosomal issues and though nipt was fine still crapping myself for 20 wek scan. But that 1 in 33 ain't that bad. That 32 in 33 chance your baby will have no chromosomal issues.
Sorry to hear that @Widdendream, that must be very tough. I hope you catch the right egg soon. x

Kimm123 · 17/10/2019 20:04

Hi ladies....a huge congrats to u every1 who has concieved...well done u all deserve the best..
@Widdendream77....aww gosh...really feel for you..im in the exact same boat as ttc few years now no luck what so ever...not had a period since january and fertility consultant has discharged me saying low amh..said didnt recommend ivf...just said go for de...

Cleozeta · 17/10/2019 21:34

Rubyroot - I am 42, will be 43 by the time this one arrives, if all goes well. Thank you for the reassurance, 32 out of 33 chance of all being fine sounds so much better than 1 out of 33 being not. (Funny how that works, but it does!)

Welcome widdendream77, sorry to hear of all your losses, that must have been hard.

Cleozeta · 17/10/2019 21:36

Kimm - I have low AMH too, 2.9 last time we checked. Does not mean you can't get pregnant naturally, but you'll need to kick start AF to get a cycle rolling

Chatbash72 · 17/10/2019 23:37

Ooh exciting times @Russkispy @Widdendream77 welcome so sorry for your losses, not sure it does the other halves any harm to experience a little of the sacrifices that we have to give up on this journey.. he's being environmentally friendly with the no red meat... sending lots of baby dust
@Kimm123 are there herbs or supplements you can take to kick start your period.. ?

Russkispy · 18/10/2019 07:48

@Cleozeta thank you! And your NIPT results be fine! Got a good feeling about it
@Chatbash72 @rubyroot thank you!!cant believe it's all happening tomorrow! And my clinic just sorted out acupuncture for me! Awww they're so nice and caring! I know their acupuncturist only works on Fridays and I asked if he was around tomorrow but wasn't planning to work. But now my clinic said he would do it straight after transfer. Smile

Widdendream77 · 18/10/2019 11:10

Good luck Russkispy, that sounds lovely that they would arrange that. Kimm123 sorry about your cycle being mia, what about something like vitex- I’ve heard that’s very good for some or even something strong like dhea? I ordered some a few months ago to see if that would help my egg quality but chickened out of using it as didn’t want to disrupt my cycle which seems reasonably regular 31 days, but if yours has been missing so long I’d be tempted to try. Hang in there Cleozeta, you’re amazing to get to where you are, I read that the aging body does it’s best to kick out the best eggs, which is why I’ve got a better chance naturally than ivf- but may be a load of cobblers! You too Rubyroot, you’re all strong and determined and give others hope. Ha ha Chatbash- yes much better for the planet but I don’t think he’d appreciate hearing that as he’s really missing his baconWinkGrin.

BooseysMom · 18/10/2019 13:59

@realitysucks... a beautiful clear scan photo! Congratulations. Looks exactly like DS's photo at 16 weeks. Makes me feel quite maternal right now!!

@Russkispy.. wishing you every success for transfer. x

Welcome new ladies and baby dust floating your way!

Chatbash72 · 18/10/2019 16:16

@Widdendream77 my eldest is nearly vegan ( eats eggs) and is back at home after uni, we probably have 3/4 meat free days and the other half is NOT happy... 🤦‍♀️

hmmm123 · 18/10/2019 16:35

Hi

I'm still here too

Glad everyone is doing well and so happy for those of us who are pregnant

I'm still waiting for my period to come back after the ectopic. It's been 7 weeks now and I fear I may go into premature menopause ☹️

I'm not sure I will try again but I at least want the option

Come on AF!!!

rubyroot · 18/10/2019 16:48

@hmmm123 I know its not same but after my tfmr it took ages for my body to get back to normal. Termination was end of Sept and body back to normal by January. I was bleeding constantly and then stopping and then bleeding for two/three weeks again. I do think it can take a while for body to balance itself out again.

Chatbash72 · 18/10/2019 18:48

29 days and last 2 cycles have been 27 days.. been off food for the last 2 days and now have the nose of a blood hound.. haven't felt like this in 3 years 😬 not sure I dare to think it

Widdendream77 · 18/10/2019 20:40

Oh I hope that’s a good sign Chatbash, fingers crossed for you. Hmmm123 again not the same but after some of my mcs at around 12 week mark my cycles were very screwed up -anovulatory ones and shorter or longer, basically the body needs time to reset. My cycles since my erpc in July have got back on track Length wise quickly this time but I track my bbt and it’s very high Pre ovulation much more than anytime over the last couple of years so something’s not right yet. It’s hard to be patient when time is ticking so loudly.

Russkispy · 19/10/2019 11:39

Here i am, lovely ladies. All went well! Lining was 9.28. Blast thawed out without any issues. Planted in a perfect place, my doc held my hand and said a little prayer, then had IV drip and acupuncture. Loaded with drugs and on my way to the airport. Again. Haha was told to do HCG on 28 and 30 October but dad is coming next week and it will be tricky for me to go to London. So will do FRER and HCG after he leaves. Let’s just hope it’s all good news at the end!

That was a little angel above my bed at the clinic, translating - I’m your guardian angel 👼

It felt a little weird during transfer. I know it’s not 100% my blast but it had my name on it when the embryologist dished it out and inserted into a catheter. But it’s my baby! All being positive, will carry and nurture it for 9 months! There’s no fear or worry but just want it to be BFP and consequently a healthy baby. Or two. Hmmm

Over 40 TTC - lots of baby dust for us...4!
BooseysMom · 19/10/2019 21:24

@Russkispy.. wonderful to hear transfer went well and your doctor sounds lovely with the hand-holding and prayer. Love the guardian angel too Halo What a special day! Wishing you and your baby every success Flowers x

Chatbash72 · 20/10/2019 07:18

Ooh @Russkispy keeping everything crossed and the guardian angel is 💕💕💕💕

Realitysucks · 20/10/2019 09:00

Hi ladies so we have officially told our news to everyone. Not sure how I feel still as had a horrible meeting with obstetrician last week. I was warned about this by a couple of older ladies at work who had babies after 40. The first thing she said to me was ok so we will book you in for an elective c-section. I asked why and she told me with a snort well you are 40 and nearly 20 years older than you were last time. Surely you don’t want a natural delivery ! 😡 I then asked if there was any medical reason why I needed a c-section and was it because I had a posterior cervix and had a 3rd degree tear last time, she said no but come on why go through all that again at your age! I am disgusted to be honest! Last time I had a natural delivery and yes it was tough (4 days from induction to delivery) but I coped and did it drug free. I’m had been warned that they will try to push you to have a csection due to age which is ridiculous! So glad we are moving soon and I will have different midwives and doctors in Bedford. I really am shocked at how bad the service is in Hertfordshire. From having to go get my own scans and appointments as nothing was sent to me. I really can see how some people here just don’t bother with it all. I had DS in Devon and they were amazing. Anyone else had this?

Catconfusion · 20/10/2019 09:12

Hey @Realitysucks I didn't want to read and run. Still occasionally checking in on this thread. I think it's appalling the consultant led with c section. I'm 15 weeks with my first baby at 40. My consultant said there's no reason my I can't have a natural birth. In fact she would advise it. The only difference is they'll monitor me towards the end to check the placenta is ok and then possibly induce on my due date depending on how I am. She felt the risks of childbirth are only slightly raised over 40 and told me not to worry.

I'm sorry your doctor was so rude. I hope you get better treatment after your move! X

Thisishowwesurvive · 20/10/2019 09:18

Weird

rubyroot · 20/10/2019 09:58

@Russkispy excellent, I hope it all goes well for you. Fingers crossed for a sticky one, theres no reason why not, those eggs sound bloody good!

@Realitysucks I'm the opposite all the midwives and doctors keep trying to push natural birth on me, I'm 41 and had a very long and painful induction last time ending in c section. I've asked for elective c section this time, natural birth is cheaper so they're saying there's no reason why I shouldn't have a vbac etc. I'm sticking to my guns, and so should you. I think all this is very area dependent and I've never really felt that I've been treated differently because of my age. My area is full of very young mums so perhaps when you're older it's a refreshing change for them, who knows?!
