@burntpinky thanks for the reply, to be honest despite getting a really positive surge on Sunday I'm still not convinced I'm ovulating, Sunday was only CS8 and from what I've read it's quite unlikely to be that early as I usually have a 28 day cycle also doesn't bode well for successful implantation even if I have! Oh well only time will tell.

Ps. Good luck with the housework! Might be less of a chore than BDing 🤣

CritterTamer · 05/11/2019 17:46

@niclondon1 - during my IVF cycles I took 200mg three times per day so 600mg daily, and that was with no history of miscarriage at all. I don't think it matters how much 'extra' progesterone there is as it doesnt do any harm.

NicLondon1 · 05/11/2019 17:55

Thanks @CritterTamer, that's good to know! Did it have any side effects for you, like insomnia etc..?

I also just googled my own question, and found this study which seems to support it... so feeling better.

Realitysucks · 05/11/2019 17:59

@Cleozeta just logged in to check if you had your results and yaaay so pleased for you! Just a quick question did you get a percentage of just low risk? I got a low risk but thought they would give me a number like 1/1000 but they didn't for mine.

Rubyroost · 05/11/2019 18:09

@Cleozeta excellent news, its such a relief isn't it!

@Realitysucks hope you don't mind me answering that q instead. I had the prenatal safe nipt which is 99.9% accurate. It just comes as low risk without any numbers. I too wanted the reassurance of numbers, but when I thought about it it doesn't really matter, it is low risk because the accuracy is very high. My consuktant said from the scan she thought it would come back low risk, so when I had had a little think about it, I was happy to accept the results as just low risk. It's far more accurate than getting say 1 in 20000 with the NHS screening which is 70% is accurate.

Realitysucks · 05/11/2019 18:18

@rubyroost thanks yes I too thought I would be reassured by numbers but like you say it’s much more accurate. Just want to get to my 20 weeks scan now, have new mid wife 16 week appointment tomorrow so hoping to hear heartbeat !

CritterTamer · 05/11/2019 18:23

@niclondon1 my unsuccessful cycle I had a few mild side effects - mainly sore boobs and a few little cramps and twinges. On my successful cycle I had no side effects from the progesterone at all (I did get ohss though so was really poorly from that which might have masked some).
One of the results of said IVF cycle had just thrown up all over me and my phone whilst typing this so I'm off to clean up 🤮

NicLondon1 · 05/11/2019 18:39

@CritterTamer Oh no! And thanks, good to know x

Cleozeta · 05/11/2019 18:46

Reality - I got less than 1 in 10,000 chance for all 3.
I've heard of some people getting many more 0's than that but I'm very happy with the result. Works out at 0.01%
It says anything less than 1% is considered low risk

Widdendream77 · 06/11/2019 11:15

Congratulations Cleozeta that sounds very good, what a relief for you. NicLondon1 I had three cycles of 200mg cyclogest twice a day under Coventrys direction but no bfp so then stopped from ovulation as per their plan, can’t say I noticed any symptoms and when I took with bfps this year I was taking progesterone too with it’s side effects so again couldn’t tell. I second crittertamer in that it doesn’t hurt and might just help so I wouldn’t worry. Has anyone else got more spotting as they’ve got older? I do seem to get more random spotting in cycles these days, sometimes round ovulation sometimes in post ovulation phase and in lead up to af. I don’t know if it’s just age or hormone disruptions Confused.

Cleozeta · 06/11/2019 11:58

Widdendream - I was getting random spotting at varying times over the last couple of years. Sometimes midcycle and almost always after AF for 3 or 4 days. My cycles liked to throw me off every month and do random things, used to drive me nuts. Also my LP went right down to 9 days so I was on progesterone pesseries too. 200mg twice a day and still taking it (going to stop at 12 weeks). I think we do have random changes after 40 but it doesn't stop our chances.
I found taking vitex seemed to balance out the random spotting (not completely - but an improvement)

Russkispy · 06/11/2019 12:23

@Cleozeta great news! And what a relief for you!

Russkispy · 06/11/2019 12:24

I won't bore you with all details but game is over for me this time!

Waiting to hear from the clinic about next steps etc. next transfer is likely in January

I'll be in the background following your journey! Baby dust to you all! And good luck to who is pregnant now! Thinking of you all!

Surferrosa74 · 06/11/2019 12:26

Hello! Can I join too? I’m just going through my first mmc. I stopped taking the mini pill in August and got my bfp in early October, was so shocked at conceiving straight away at age 45! Started spotting a couple of weeks ago so went for a private scan, baby was estimated at 6.5 weeks and there was a heartbeat! Unfortunately the EPU scanned me a few days later and the heartbeat had gone, confirmed by a follow up scan yesterday. Completely gutted, have an ERPC booked for early next week.

Going to try again after next AF. Anyone got any tips for me or over the counter supplements I could try. I think I do get pregnant quite easily (my 8 yr old DD was born after first try) but I know at my age my egg quality is probably not great.

CritterTamer · 06/11/2019 12:41

@cleozeta - fantasttic news!
@Russkispy - omg I'm so shocked to read this! I hope you're OK xxx
@surferrosa74 - welcome. Ubiquinol at a dose of at least 300 per day is a good idea for egg quality.

AFM - has anyone here ttc while breastfeeding? It's been almost 6 months at a finally got a line on an opk this morning (not positive but not the squints I've been getting up until now). Not sure whether this means ovulation might actually be on the way or if it will just disappear?

burntpinky · 06/11/2019 12:56

Will catch up on everyone’s news this evening when at home but we DTD again last night though loads seemed to come out despite me having hips under 3 pillows and only managed to stay there for 20 mins as needed a wee!!!

Did a cheapie OT this morning as my clear blue now stuck in static obvs and it came up dark quite quickly so going to try and hop on again tonight. Probs can’t do tomorrow night though as out for a works meal at 630 and then on an early flight fri am so no time!

DH had to do dinner again last night (though I did a lot of chopping before DC went to bed) - a 5:2 “healthy” curry which was yukky! So tonight we are opting for beans and chicken sausages on toast! DH will, however, be cooking again whilst I “relax” with legs akimbo after DTD - it really is quite a good deal!!!

Mystie · 06/11/2019 13:51

@Surferrosa74 really sorry to hear about your recent loss. I'm 43 and fell pregnant accidentally in September but after a scan at 7 weeks was told the embryo hadn't developed and so had a D&C on 8/10. I've had 3 children previously and fell pregnant easily with them but know things might be different again this time round. My boyfriend is only 26 which I'm hoping will help make up for my old eggs! I had a short period, 19 days after D&C and am now 2dpo hoping for a BFP in 2 weeks time! Regarding supplements I'm taking pregnacare preconception and co enzyme q10 also adding barley grass powder to my smoothies which is meant to aid conception. Sending love to you and lots of baby dust for your next cycle! X

Rubyroost · 06/11/2019 13:56

@Russkispy that's shitty, really sorry to hear that. Try to keep positive for your next transfer in jan, hopefully this one will stick. 🤞

Rubyroost · 06/11/2019 14:00

@CritterTamer I conceived month 5 of breastfeeding after having sex about four times since the baby was born. Unfortunately it wasn't to be.
However, my periods returned after 3 months

Rose68 · 06/11/2019 14:19

@Cleozeta Wonderful news! I am so happy for you!

@Russkispy omg what happened! I really thought this would be it for you. I’m so sorry xxx

Cleozeta · 06/11/2019 14:28

Russkispy - so sorry to hear things didn't go well this time. Fingers crossed for success in Jan.

Surferrosa - sorry to hear you are going through a mmc, I had one last year, it's so upsetting. I think for egg quality there is ubiquinol that is recommended. In the US people are also advised to take DHEA at our age too, but I don't know how much of it is a real help or how much is just pot luck with what quality of egg we get each month.

Critter - I think it can vary from person to person, and also how much you are feeding. If you are exclusively breastfeeding then it will take longer to get your cycle back. With both of my children my period didn't come back until I had given up breastfeeding, so 12 months for 1st and nearly 18 months with my 2nd

hmmm123 · 06/11/2019 14:33

Sorry to hear your news @Russkispy Sending hugs

Congrats on your news @Cleozeta. Great results

Afm I have started retaking my pregnacare whilst ilm still trying to work out whether we will try again or not.. it's still very scary to think about but I thought at least it's good for my hair and nails!

Should I be taking anything else and how much ?

BooseysMom · 06/11/2019 17:25
