Thank you lovely ladies! Had no bleeding during the night and only tiny brown discharge this morning and nothing since. As I was in the waiting room I felt like nausea was hitting me. The scan went well. But am around 5 weeks, he said. Not 6w4d. After a miscarriage if you don’t have 3 full cycles, it’s hard to determine weeks of early pregnancy. But, sac is present and yolk is present too! No heartbeat as it’s too early. Back to see him on 7/08 when I’m 7 weeks. Bleeding was more likely caused by placenta as he could see something small around the sac. He said it was normal and nothing to worry about. Very relieved but still early days! Spoke to my fertility doc and told me to take extra progesterone in the morning and continue with the evening intake. Thank you for all your support! It means a lot!

rubyroot · 24/07/2019 16:22

Oh God its 2019! I definitely am pregnant then!

Took me ages to work that one out when you said have I missed a year. 🤦‍♀️

So Oct 2018 and May 2019.

karryk · 24/07/2019 16:47

Wishing you well @Russkispy ❤️ I had spotting on and off between weeks 5-7 and it just went by itself. Hope this is a strong bean for you Wink. Xx

NicLondon1 · 24/07/2019 18:38

Oops I've missed so much in 2 days!
@Russkispy, I also bled several days at around 6 weeks and went on to have a successful pregnancy, so fingers crossed for you
@samk79, I would go for the job but also keep ttc... I myself stopped etc when I was 38 due to work things kicking off, and massively regret it now...

Adding myself here:

Age: 40

1 four year old DD

TTC # 2 on and off last year, but properly since last October

MMC Jan 2019

I'm out for this cycle... (which was a weird long one, @Catconfusion). It was very interesting actually - yesterday I was 10dpo and loads of pregnancy symptoms, huge sore boobs, fatigue, emotional, bit nauseous, then I woke up today feeling totally calm, clear-headed and the boobs had physically deflated! So I think perhaps there was an embryo but it didn't implant. Expecting AF any minute.

The NHS are currently doing all the tests and I've got an HSG next week - has anyone had this? Is it really painful? And I keep hearing that lots of people conceive following it, but has anyone NOT conceived ...? Trying to prepare myself... thanks

SomnolentSekhmet · 24/07/2019 18:42

TTC no 3 here after MMC in May. Think I'm out for this month and feeling generally a tad down with life in general. I think a touch of bleeding at 6 weeks is relatively common, I was told that is when the embryo buries in a bit deeper as the placenta starts to form or something. For what it's worth, I've bled in all my pregnancies both successful and not. For me, pink bright red and brown bleeding have led to successful outcomes, with the last pregnancy the bleeding turned maroon and every single time I wiped/checked, with the others it was varying colours and intermittent although every few days through the first trimester.

SomnolentSekhmet · 24/07/2019 18:45

Oh. And I'm 42. With a horrendous memory (or I'm wilfully trying to forget).

Zigzag11 · 24/07/2019 19:44

Good news @Russkispy, I was thinking about how you got on today.

Welcome to this great thread @NicLondon1

I'm 8 dpo, CD21, AF is due on Saturday or Sunday.
I've had lot AF type cramping yesterday, so I kind of convinced myself that I'm out for this month yet again.
So far I have managed to stay away from the tests. My breasts are very sore, but they always are in the run up to AF starting. Trying not to get my hopes up, because of that awful feeling of disappointment.

Hope everyone else is OK.

Catclock · 24/07/2019 19:50

Hello lovelies. Found yous Grin
Natalie Imruglia (sp) has announced her first pregnancy. At 44. I thought that was nice news. X

Catclock · 24/07/2019 20:03

Hi @NicLondon1 just reading through your post, I'm very new to this, and also rather late to this, TTC malarkey.
And what you've written has totally resonated with me

symptoms, huge sore boobs, fatigue, emotional, bit nauseous, then I woke up today feeling totally calm, clear-headed and the boobs had physically deflated! So I think perhaps there was an embryo but it didn't implant. Expecting AF any minute.

For the first time last month we 'tried'... Really not expecting anything and I certainly wasn't symptom spotting but my nipples went CRAZY tingling a few days post ov (what I'm sure was post ov). I have never had that sensation before so I immediately noticed it. I also felt very fluey a couple of days after that. Totally wiped out. Then all back to 'normal'.
I'm now expecting AF any day now. But I didn't know you could technically conceive and just not have it implant.
There are SO many variables aren't there! Sad
X

rubyroot · 24/07/2019 20:48

It's often referred to as a Chem pregnancy. Unfortunately I tested and I then bled at 4.5 weeks. One reason not to test too early I guess.

Catclock · 24/07/2019 21:00

I see @rubyroot that's a shame :(
Thank you for sharing. Having this knowledge is very useful. X

Russkispy · 24/07/2019 21:15

@karryk thank you! Will keep you posted 🤞🏻

NicLondon1 · 24/07/2019 21:31

Yes and of course the frustrating thing is that we don't really know what is going on in our bodies.. we just have to go by how it feels!

Personally, I'm keen to start getting some medical help/insights now... and will of course keep on all the supplements etc.

In my own case, I was having pains in my right ovary throughout ovulation, and that is the ovary that miscarried in January, so I suspect there is still an issue there... having the HSG next week to "clean the tubes out"
Has anyone here had the HSG? Is it really horrible? Thx

rubyroot · 24/07/2019 22:15

@Catclock apparently 30-50% of women have them and they account for 50-75% of miscarriages. Thing is I know my body so well I thought I was pregnant and then tested and then a few days later I bled. Apparently, from what I've read, but I do read far too much, you are more likely to have a successful pregnancy six weeks after a chemical pregnancy. Think it was some study.

Chatbash72 · 24/07/2019 23:59

@Catclock fab news about Natalie, Anne Hathaway has announced 2nd preg and hinted that she did not have an easy path getting there..
welcome @NicLondon1 and @SomnolentSekhmet xx
Ooh great news @Russkispy come on little bean get burrowing xxx

hmmm123 · 25/07/2019 00:38

Checking in!

Fingers and toes crossed for you @rubyroot and @Russkispy

Welcome new ladies

I'm 42. Can really empathise with ladies whose DHs didn't want any more. My dh has taken a lot of persuading too but I won him around in the end!

Last month we dtd every day for a week and I think it was a bit much and DHs reserves might have been a bit depleted by ovulation time!

This month I am trying the sperm meets egg plan which is basically cd8 cd 10 and then day of smiley 2 days after one days "rest" and one for luck!

Ive downloaded the ebook on amazon and the theory makes sense

Gotta try everything right? !

I

CritterTamer · 25/07/2019 00:40

@NicLondon1 I had an HSG left year. I can't lie, it was pretty uncomfortable, however the bad pain only lastsa sort time, maybe a minute or less. There was also done cranking and discomfort fit a couple of hours afterwards but nothing too awful. I also know that some women find it l more/less painful than others.
I hope it goes well for you xxx

CritterTamer · 25/07/2019 00:43

That should have said last year! Sorry for all the typos - typing on the phone keyboard with my left hand whilst breastfeeding is a skill I haven't yet mastered 🤣

Constance1234 · 25/07/2019 06:26

@hmmm123 I’ve been pregnant 3 times now and each time was when we did the SMEP!

KCM99 · 25/07/2019 06:46

@rubyroot 😂 yep you're definitely preggers! My brain does this when pg too. It switches itself off about 3dpo and that's how I know I'm pg lol!

KCM99 · 25/07/2019 07:01

Welcome to all the new ladies 🙌 I'm checking in with an update: CD21 after D&C, no ovulation yet, ewcm, still getting pelvic pain. Shc yesterday told me no infection or inflammation likely on examination but swabs/bloods taken just to completely rule out. EPU says pains not due to molar (but histology will confirm, no results back yet...yep still waiting).
So they said pains might be cysts. So have quit the high dose 5mg folic acid. I think that's causing cysts/pain. Taking about 1mg now.

Please body - I'm sorry for messing you about with taking supplements you don't like. Now please, heal yourself and release the golden egg! 😬🌈

Constance1234 · 25/07/2019 21:11

@KCM99 Ah sorry you are still dealing with the aftermath of the D&C, when do you get the histology results back? It's so annoying when you get want to get on with ttc! x

I am on day 34 after my D&C and I think my period is finally on the way as have been getting pink and brown spotting when I wipe. I am now in two minds whether to use the clomid again this cycle (I got pregnant last time on the first month of trying it), or of I should try naturally and give my body one cycle to get settled again. My consultant gave me the clomid to 'strengthen ovulation' and it obviously worked last time, but that ended in a mmc. I don't know if that was anything to do with the clomid though - anyone else tried it or have any advice? x

KCM99 · 26/07/2019 15:21

@Constance1234 i rang them today and they are still not in. Is it just me or is waiting 3 weeks for histology report seem stupidly long? Maybe they are on skeleton staff over the summer.

I'm glad your AF is on her way. It's up to you what you want to do. I've not done any research on it but another younger lady I know keeps having cp's. She ovulates late and her consultant is putting her on letrozole (Femara) which will bring on earlier ovulation, yet it has a higher mc rate. You have to do what seems right for you xx

littlemimosa · 26/07/2019 21:09

Checking into the new thread. Thanks Sparrow.

@NicLondon1 I had an hsg last year and it was 95% pain free. I felt nothing up until the dye hit my left tube. The right side was fine. As soon as I murmured that it hurt she stopped the whole thing and said it was over. I got good news from it in that my tubes were fully clear but I’m not pregnant. Hope this helps.

@Catconfusion I’m too suffering long cycles. I’ve had normal 28/29 day cycles all my life until about age 40 when they got shorter (I was always ovulating on day 5,6,7 or 8) but now at age 43 they’ve got longer. About 6 weeks and I ovulate late. It’s very frustrating. I’ve had every test, scan etc done and all is fine. I’ve tried every supplement and alternative therapy going but still not pregnant. I’m now thinking of asking for Femara to kick start an earlier ovulation. I feel I have nothing left to lose. I agree that stress is a big factor in all of this. I’m working at lowering stress levels. How are you? I don’t know anything about pcos other than it’s related to a blood sugar issue?

Hi to everyone else, I’ve not forgotten any of you, I just feel I’m out of the ‘game’ really now so I’m kind of not focusing anymore on ttc.

@Russkispy - got everything crossed for you x

MaryShelley1818 · 26/07/2019 21:42

So me and DH went to see the GP this morning. First step was booking in for bloods to be taken (3 day and 21 day - currently day 6 so literally just missed them this month!) DH has to book in for a sperm sample analysis.
I know it’s positive that the ball is rolling but it’s made me feel really down and sad that we were there. Think I’ve been happier with my head stuck firmly in the sand and now our struggle seems real 😣
