Over 40 TTC - lots of baby dust for us...4!

Here's our new thread (sorry, not good at coming up with exciting titles!!)

SparrowSG: 44. 1 DS 2.5. TTC for ever! 1 ectopic 10 wks Feb 2014, 1 successful IVF 2016, 1 failed IVF 2018, 1 MC 12 wks Feb 2019. Planned IVF Oct 2019.
KCM99: 43, 2 DC, ttc no.3 since April. 3 early losses since then.

Ok NicLondon1...which option are you going to go for?? Have u got any children or is this hopefully your first x

I don't know!! Still deciding.... have a 4 year old already . Grateful for any suggestions! Go straight to IVF or see if a medicated IUI would work..?

@NicLondon1 - it's a hard decision. If it helps at all I went straight to IVF as was told at age 40 there was a 5 percent chance of success with iui (same as natural chance!) And a 15 - 20 percent chance of success with IVF. Paying for a round of iui want that much cheaper than IVF, and would have meant we could afford fewer IVF cycles as finances were limited, so it seemed like a no-brainer to us in the end 😊 good luck with whatever you decide to do xxx

Hi Ladies just a quick update. So had a 10 week scan and all looks good. Also had NIPT test so now waiting for results. Trying not to think about it all. I’m definitely showing now whole belly has popped out and am still only 11 weeks on Sunday 😬 anyway little scan pic attached! We took a video which was much better could see bubs bouncing around and arms and legs and everything 🥰

Aww congrats reality! That's great news. I'll have mine in 3 weeks if all still well. Bloody scary! Had midwife appointment today and felt like a fraud

Interestingly the midwife was really reassuring about my age. I made a joke about being classed as 'geriatric' and she straight away went on to tell me how many mums in my area are over 40 and have had successful pregnancies and that it's not old at all.

Crap. Started bleeding today. I should have known it was too good to be true. Symptoms are still strong too. Think thats it for me. I quit.

@Cleozeta go to A&E if there is nothing near like an EPU they will at least scan you x

Thanks everyone. EPU can't see me until Weds so will have to wait and see what happens.

@Cleozeta how are you feeling now? Are you having more bleed? Maybe try to call EPU tomorrow again and they will see you sooner than Wednesday? Thinking of you xx

Thanks. Bleeding is very on and off, and not very much so far and I stiĺl have symptoms. Not holding out too much hope but secretly wishing all ok. Just hoping nothing dramatic happens before weds

Cleozeta I'm not on this thread but I read it everyday in the hope you all get your babies. I just wanted to say I had bleeding for a couple of weeks at this stage and then again between 16 and 18 weeks. I was told not to worry it's normal. My little girl is running around causing chaos as we speak so please don't give up hope it's not over till it's over. Keeping everything crossed for you. X
