That's so sad Sad

Cleozeta · 16/09/2019 07:32

Just took a digi and got 2-3. Phew, that's the first hurdle.

NicLondon1 · 16/09/2019 13:08

Congrats @Cleozeta, that's definitely one hurdle passed! And @Realitysucks - it's so inspiring to see these pregnancies happening!
@Russkispy - wonderful news, good luck with it all!

I'm just waiting for the ovulating "fertile window" (following early mmc) so we can start trying... hubby is like a racehorse ready to leave the gate & spring into action!!

NicLondon1 · 16/09/2019 13:10

@hmmm123 How are you doing? Was so sorry to hear you had an ectopic, how is your recovery going..? It also happened to a friend of mine last year, and just sounded really traumatic. Hope you're OK x

rubyroot · 16/09/2019 16:01

Excellent news @Cleozeta all is progressing as it should. These early days are so bloody hard.

Had my dating scan today, 13 weeks and 2 days and this looks like a totally different baby this time. They couldn't measure nuchal as baby was wriggling so much but the sonographer said it looks absolutely fine and no where near excessive. She said they wouldn't normally measure it anyway as I wasn't opting for screening. They said to go with nipt results as theyre much better than NHS screening.

They didn't mention aspirin and having to take it, I wonder if that is because it is second baby and so not considered high risk for pre eclampsia? Or perhaps she just forgot.
Anyhow this baby was conceived with lots of sex, no supplements or change to my lifestyle. I'm just hoping it continues to be a healthy little bean. Next hurdle is my 20 week scan 🤞

Cleozeta · 16/09/2019 16:21

Great news ruby! Sounds like all is well, and that scan is a MASSIVE hurdle, so thats fantastic that it's gone so well.

hmmm123 · 16/09/2019 17:32

Brilliant news @Cleozeta and @rubyroot !

Thanks for asking how I am @NicLondon1

I went to the gp today and he said because of my symptoms ( 3 plus on clearblue on day AF was due and then bleeding at 7 weeks for a full week before they discovered the ectopic I might have had a baby in my uterus and a baby in my tube. He said that it was unusual to have bleeding before the pain and as my tube didn't rupture the bleeding might have been miscarrying one baby before the second was discovered.

Anyway that didn't make me feel better!

He did say if I wanted to try again there was an increased risk of another ectopic 10 percent apparently but that statistic is made up of women who have Pre existing conditions ( which I don't have) He said that it was just one of those things and I was just unlucky

He did say chances of normal miscarriage was 50 percent and went on about chromosomal abnormalities and testing.. which I obviously know

I've arranged some counselling to talk through how I feel and will make a decision about ttc again in the next couple of months I think when I am feeling better

He also said they would scan me early if I did try again

Good luck to all trying

X

NicLondon1 · 16/09/2019 17:40

Gosh that does sound like an incredibly rare occurrence. And good that they would keep a close eye on you in future. xx

NicLondon1 · 16/09/2019 19:54

@rubyroot that's great about your scan!

Russkispy · 16/09/2019 20:12

@Cleozeta glad things are progressing nicely!

@rubyroot glad the scan went well! Fingers crossed for 20 week scan 🤞🏻

rubyroot · 16/09/2019 20:50

I'm not having a dig re no supplements BTW. I had a tete a tete on here a while ago when I sarcastically stated perhaps if 8d taken supplements I wouldn't have had a poorly baby and t21 pregnancy. Someone suggested that it could have been the case, so I'm just stating that so far so good, looks like a healthy baby and no supplements were needed.
But it's been bloody hard getting here, so I just hope all is well with the baby, it doesn't quite feel real yet. In fact this is the hardest thing I've worked at, ever!!

Cleozeta · 17/09/2019 07:49

Ruby - it's bloody hard isn't it! I personally think if something chromasonal is goimg to go wrong, there is nothing we can do to stop it. Frustrating as hell, but in our age group unfortunately it can happen, meaning mc's are much more likely. You seem to be past this point though now, anything chromasonal would have been found by now. Yours is getting real. Try to relax and enjoy! (I know easier said than done).
It's such a long hard (and blind!) road.

Jojowash · 17/09/2019 15:55

Had my private scan today! Was frightened stiff. Saw little blob and heartbeat x

I'm supposed to be 6+2 measured 5 weeks, I hope that's ok! 🌈❤️

Over 40 TTC - lots of baby dust for us...4!
rubyroot · 17/09/2019 16:51

@Jojowash those early scans are bollocks. I wouldn't worry too much. I measured a week behind with my little boy in early scan but at 12 weeks was bang on. They also measured me 5 weeks 4 when I was 6 weeks 2. And I proved them wrong yet again when baby is measuring by my dates.

Jojowash · 17/09/2019 17:13

@rubyroot

Thanks a lot x makes me feel better x

Cleozeta · 18/09/2019 07:50

Great news jojowash. Lovely to see a heartbeat. They always say it's hard to measure accurately that early on as it's so tiny.
Are you having many symptoms? I keep getting stinking headaches

Realitysucks · 18/09/2019 10:36

@Jojowash that’s great, First hurdle done ! I’m dreading my next scan ! Two weeks today and I’ll be 10Weeks and 3 days. Boobs don’t seem as sore and barley any morning sickness which I’m convinced is not a good sign. On the other hand I have a noticeable belly 😬 already! Seems to get worse by the end of the day and bloody painful when I sneeze !

Cleozeta · 18/09/2019 17:25

Reality - fingers crossed for you. Belly is a good sign!

littlemimosa · 18/09/2019 19:16

@Cleozeta great news so far on the 2-3 digi:)
I’m ok thanks. Busy with other stuff so not ‘trying’ but not preventing either. I thought I was on another long cycle with no/very late ovulation but started getting progesterone/pms symptoms a week ago so totally confused lol. I had no ovulation signs so I’m baffled really. Anyway, I guess I’ll bleed or not soon so time will tell. I’d resigned myself to having more or less run out of eggs with my long cycles but god knows! Anyway I’m ok about it all, enjoying life and although I still have moments where my heart aches for another baby I’m handling it much better now.

Congratulations to all the other ladies with buns in the oven 40+. You all rock🤟

Cleozeta · 18/09/2019 20:23

Mimosa - doesn't sound like you are out of eggs quite yet! But glad you are enjoying life and doing ok.

Floofsquidge · 18/09/2019 20:35

Some of you may remember me as a regular poster, I got my BFP a year ago following a couple of CP's, and after an anxious but totally straightforward pregnancy (not so straightforward labour) we welcomed our precious little boy just shy of my 41st birthday. As the anniversary passed of those positive tests (all 10 of them, just to be sure!), I wanted to update in case anyone reads back through these threads and wonders, here I am to add to the positive stories. So pleased to see all the BFPs! x

Alarica · 18/09/2019 22:16

Congratulations @Floofsquidge lovely to hear good news, hope you're enjoying motherhood xx

Cleozeta · 19/09/2019 00:09

I renember you floofsquidge! Huge congratulations Smile

BooseysMom · 19/09/2019 21:15

Busy with other stuff so not ‘trying’ but not preventing either.

@littlemimosa ... that's what i'm doing too! Glad you're feeling ok x

@Cleozeta and @rubyroot @realitysucks
...brilliant news all is going well and good luck for your next scans x
Sorry if i've missed anyone out!

@Floofsquidge... Congratulations on the birth of your precious DS Flowers I was the same age when i had my DS, just 3 months off 41!

PetraRabbit · 19/09/2019 22:18

@cleozeta thrilled for you....I know it's early days but the chances of it working out are really good and only get better every day! I was excited to see your news

@Floofsquidge thanks for coming back to report good news. Good to hear!
