Ladies I have a question for you... hubby had his drink spiked at a work do last night... I know my hubby drunk and this was definitely NOT that... how he made it into the train I'll never know... but was dreadful from when I got him at the station. Last night was not pretty Christ knows what was in his system.. 😞😞😞😞
I'm just thinking that in 3 months I might want to steer clear of ttc just to be in the safe side... 😱

eloisa246 · 12/09/2019 11:15

hello ladies. What an amazing surprise Cleozeta! Wow. Wishing you huge amounts of positivity and faith. Russkispy - you must be so excited and so happy for you - things are turning around really fast, yay!. I said a while back we should be DE buddies and then went quiet! I basically feel quite sensitive about posting too much - especially as I'm doing DE in the UK and you have to be super-careful your donor doesn't find you. I know that probably sounds a bit paranoid but I know it has happened to other donors/recipients in the past.
Anyway, I have completed one cycle which wasn't successful....very hard journey but I do think with DE you have to look at the bigger picture rather than just one cycle (around 3/4 cycles seems to get most people there). So I'm trying to look ahead and not get hung up on one cycle. Russkispy, it sounds like you will have loads of chances - amazing! Apart from the cycle not working out everything else was plain sailing. Meds were OK after I got used to them. One thing you could think about is asking for vaginal rather than oral estrogen to thicken the lining. I didn't know about that but will ask for it next time. Think it's a better option as it's more targeted and has fewer side effects. lots of love to all. x

Samosaurus · 12/09/2019 13:06

@Chatbash72 oh no - what do you think it was spiked with? Why would you steer clear of ttc for 3 months though? Sorry if I’m being dim, but I can’t see how that would affect his sperm if that’s what you are worried about?

Chatbash72 · 12/09/2019 13:57

@Samosaurus not for 3 whole months... but do they not run on the 3 month cycle like we do... 3 months to mature an egg, same for sperm.. ??

BooseysMom · 12/09/2019 14:23

Wow, three amazing things all at once!
Grin

BooseysMom · 12/09/2019 14:28

@Chatbash72... sorry to hear about your poor DH. I had this happen to me in a club in Brighton and ended up collapsed in the loos. I'd only had 2 drinks so knew i wasn't drunk and i clearly remember a group of lads staring at me for ages before everything went black. Thankfully i was with boyf at the time and he got us in a taxi and home.

Hope your DH is ok. I don't think it affects sperm any longer than it takes to go through your system..24 hours isn't it?

Samosaurus · 12/09/2019 15:02

@Chatbash72 I can understand your caution, but I really doubt one incidence of whatever drug it was would affect his sperm. Do you have any idea what it might have been? I’d imagine most drugs leave ones system pretty quickly. Hope he is feeling ok today!

Kimm123 · 12/09/2019 15:31

Congratulations to every1 who have concieved.....just to ask @Cleozeta did u have regular periods and how old r u if u dont mind me asking

Kimm123 · 12/09/2019 15:33

And how often would you say to do the deed.....its soo busy with work etc n then doing deed tiring 🤣🤣🤣

Russkispy · 12/09/2019 15:40

@eloisa246 nice to hear from you. I sent you a message directly on here. Sorry to hear about the failed cycle but fingers crossed for the next!

@Chatbash72 sorry to read about your poor DH. That's so scary! Hope he's ok now. And I'm not sure it will affect his sperm, really.

AFM, all our 15 embryos are still developing nicely which is absolutely crazy and overwhelming! On Saturday we will find out how many will become blastocysts. Im very much real about the first transfer might not be successful but hopefully we will have a few blasts to try again till we are

Chatbash72 · 12/09/2019 16:24

Thank you guys... yes very scary... hopefully yes all out of his system now but I guess because he had such a reaction to what ever it was... it just made me think...
he's quite shaken but typical male... is acting like business as usual.. was a dreadful night but thankful we managed to get him home safe... xx
@Russkispy fab news about those busy eggs xx

rubyroot · 12/09/2019 19:54

@Chatbash72 when I think of things like this, I think of all the drug addicts who seem to conceive healthy babies so easily! I wouldn't worry if I were you

rubyroot · 12/09/2019 19:56

@Cleozeta exceekent news, congrats. Really hope it sticks x

Inks42 · 12/09/2019 20:27

Congratulations @Hobbes39 to your babies!

Great news @Cleozeta

Good luck with the blastocysts @Russkispy

I've been busy trying to find some reason to why I'm failing to conceive. My first blood tests came back and my levels were mostly ok, but I have hypothyroidism and anemia. The GP put me on levothyroxine. Has anyone else been on levothyroxine?

I also saw a consultant about my heavy periods and he did a scan which showed that my PCO wasn't there anymore and confirmed that I don't have any fibroids. I'm booked in for a hysteroscopy on Tuesday under general anaesthetic to check out the condition of my uterus. Has anyone had this? What was your experience?

Feeling a little worse for wear as OH is currently bed bound with sciatica and is having an MRI tomorrow.

Jojowash · 12/09/2019 20:39

Hi guys xx

I'm 40 & 5+3 weeks pregnant with potential third child x

Had a MMC in May.

Have a private viability scan on 17th September.

Absolutely petrified. Can't relax and I really don't believe i am pregnant.

Russkispy · 13/09/2019 10:58

All 15 are now morulas (day 4)! 😱🤞🏻which is insane! And tomorrow is the last day of their development before going to the freezer! We might have 15 frozen blasts! That’s beyond madness! I’m absolutely speechless and can't thank enough our lovely donor to give us this gift!!

BooseysMom · 13/09/2019 13:37

@Jojowash.. Wow, Congratulations on your pregnancy! I was also 40 when i conceived and just 3 months shy of 41 when DS was born. I had 2 mcs before and he was 3rd time lucky! Enjoy every moment and keep a diary..that's what i did and do now. Those moments are kind of with you forever then. Good luck Flowers

@Russkispy.. that's fantastic news! Go forth and grow you super strong eggs and may you be successful! Good luck x

68degreesnorth · 13/09/2019 14:12

Hi ladies,

I'm new here so I don't know any of the lingo other than I can guess TTC!

I'm 42 - TTC for about 1.5 years.

Super long cycles - currently on day 100 . 'Normally' (although there's nothing normal about my cycles) they are about 50 days or so. I'm not pregnant though, so I'm just hoping I will get my period asap because I am waiting to have an HSG before I can start clomid. I'm really worried that perhaps I won't get my period at all, as I never had periods at all until I was about 36-37! Waiting time for each time I've been at the fertility clinic is about 3-4 months, so not much has progressed since spring when I first saw them.

Without getting a period I can't even start the journey...

Went for reflexology the other evening, and the therapist said it felt as though I was about to have my period, but I can't feel any signs of it coming any time soon. I'm hoping it will help though, I felt more relaxed afterwards than I have felt in a decade!

Any tips? I've just started taking Pregnacare Conception, but I'm a bit concerned because I had a terrible side effects from Inositol in the past but I hope they are ok, the amount of Inositol in them is very low... and I can't have acupuncture because that gives me very severe insomnia (I know, I'm an oddball) - so what else can I do?

X

Kimm123 · 13/09/2019 15:44

Hi 68degreesnorth.....im also in the same boat as you...i have not had my period since january 2019.....i am going to start reflexology soon....do u need to have periods to start clomid?? Have u got any children or is this hopefully be ur first??

Kimm123 · 13/09/2019 15:46

What are ur drs saying about ur periods?? Have u had all ur scans etc to see ur ovarian reserve as in amount of eggs u have got

68degreesnorth · 13/09/2019 16:52

Hi @Kimm123 - don't need period to start clomid, but i need my period in order to get the HSG test done and before that they won't prescribe clomid. Yes, I've had several scans, and all looks normal apparently. Hormones ok, apart from progesterone which isn't. Have not seen my doctor since sending me off for all these tests, because i'm in the hands of the fertility consultant now.

68degreesnorth · 13/09/2019 16:53

@Kimm123 forgot to say, no I don't have any children. I feel like it's a bit of madness to start trying so late, but....

Kimm123 · 13/09/2019 17:09

My consultant gave me some medication to induce a period then take clomid on certain days whilst ur having ur period....r u sure u dont need to be in bleeding when taking clomid....thats what i was told.....when is ur hsg?

Kimm123 · 13/09/2019 17:12

U prob most likely see ur fertility dr once all results are back....it is good that ur having hsg atleast they can then check ur tubes etc...

68degreesnorth · 13/09/2019 17:54

@Kimm123 that's interesting, maybe I should ask my GP for something to induce a period? The HSG is going to be on day 6-10 after day 1 of my period. But obviously I don't have a period and no idea when it will be..... The letter says that if I have not arranged a time to do the test within 3 months they will refer me back to the GP or something. It's ridiculous! It's not like I'm choosing not to have a period!

Which medication did you get to induce a period btw? Can you get that from the GP? If not I will have to wait until late November before I'm seeing the fertility lady...
