Waiting 2 months TTC and struggling !

Dear All,

This is my first post, been thinking about TTC since January. DH and I agreed to start in August but as it turns out we have a family weeding next year and if we were lucky in August I’d be far too prego to go ans wouldn’t want to miss said wedding. Sorry for the waffle anyway this means waiting till September ... which is only 2 months ago but feels like forever.

I’ve got lots of social events to keen me busy, could do with losing half a stone, have started folic acid/ vit D and am due my smear test the first week of September. So really the waits makes sense.

But I’m almost 34 and getting increasingly worried about possible problems and how long it will take. Aside from the fact that I feel super broody and just want to try yesterday 😆.

Any other crazy ladies out there to join the wait ?

Can I also join? Planning to start trying in December and it feels like ages away, though also really enjoying being just the two of us. Don't know whether to feel appreciative or frustrated at the length of time now that I feel ready!

@Jellybott YAAAS to date night! We're out at the weekend too - I'm really looking forward to it.

Welcome @MrsW9 we're all in the same boat here, definitely appreciating the time for just us, but looking forward to jumping on the TTC wagon. Eeeek!

I'm just at a festival have already had 2 gone and enjoying the day! Thinking if I had a baby I couldn't do this so decided I need to enjoy the next two months!

Still thinking it's fertile window next week .... shall we just try . Wish I was less sensible lol.

Yes, would be first child for me! An August or September birth would be helpful for work as I work in a school, but I'm well aware that babies don't fit in around things in that way...

I'm due AF on Thursday (my last one before my coil comes out ) and I'm having mega PMS. Have just had a Chinese for tea and don't regret it one bit. Even doubled up on the carbs

@noodlesoup99 yay for the take away! Hope it's made you feel better :-), I could eat a cow when AF is due lol. when is your coil coming out ? Not a long wait for you now it'll be August before you know it !

My AF is due 16th June....2 to go until the first TTC cycle. But I've only got a packet and a half of pills left and it being July makes it all feel closer doesn't it !

I had a very toddler filled weekend. Was cleaning my bathroom floor at 9pm last night. #thuglife 😂😂😂

@noodlesoup99 im also like this. Could have eaten all day today if i didn't stop myself! Tried to keep busy at Work to stop myself snacking. So hard when all the food is free and available

No I've decided to finish off what I've got which is until mid August-ish, I'm on norgeston an old POP. I'm sure if I stopped now we'd have an accident

Has everyone else stopped their contraception for a while before TTC?

Yes i did this exactly. Came off pill got pregnant 5 weeks later. It's a trap 😂

Definitely not gonna happen this time as still no af or any clue what my body is doing

@AndddddHerewegoagain don't worry I didn't interpret what you said as judge :-)

I did think about stopping early but there's no real evidence pills have a lasting effect on fertility there's only evidence for the depo injection.

I'd love to stop and get prego now but all our plans would be in a mess. And I'm sure using condoms wouldn't last long hehe.

5 weeks !!! That's amazing, hope AF turns up soon and the next one is a quick for you

@MrsMeow2019 coil comes out on 16th.. 2 weeks today (Not that I'm counting )
From my app and previous cycles where I feel twinges etc, I'd say I'm due to ovulate around the 19th... so we never know
I suppose that's the beauty of the copper coil though, periods have been 7/8 days of heavy flow, but your fertility returns to normal from the day it's removed.
I mean, NOTHING ever goes how you'd ideally like it to, but maybe just this once, it could!
PMS is a total cow - I usually let myself have a day or 2 of guilt free snacking/hoovering everything in sight; get it out of my system, then back to good choices.
Today is going to be the same I think, although I'm a bit bloated from last nights feasting.
Very exciting that you've only got a packet and half left, it just starts to feel very real.

@AndddddHerewegoagain coming off the pill and being pregnant within 5 weeks sounds like a dream! Although - when you've got bathroom floors to scrub at daft-o-clock, I bet not so much! X

I use Clue and have been plotting my next few cycles working out possible EDDs - officially mad...

@noodlesoup99 it was unbelievable really. We had 3 weddings and i had to make excuses at all of them! Didn't ever imagine it would have happened that fast! My poor dh was having to eat double pate as starters to not make it obvious that i had left mine haha.

@MrsMeow2019 That's super organised. I went to 42 weeks so just remember it can be anytime from 36-42 weeks! I was so excited on my due date and it was the most anticlimatic day ever

Hi girls! AF arrived today (1 day early) and I actually felt really happy to see her. Like this is my last period before my coil comes out. It's all feeling very real that we're going to be TTC.
I'm so excited for the next couple of weeks to pass

@MrsMeow2019 I have been off contraception since Feb, and we’ve been using natural family planning method since then. We just use condoms when I know I’m fertile. It’s good practice to cycle track but I also now know I ovulate later than apps predict and I’ve been looking for patterns so I hopefully won’t fall into the 2 week wait trap of symptom spotting (that’s the theory 😆)

I’ve got a festival this weekend as well, if I am up to it. I really want to go as it is hopefully the last summer kid free but also I might fall asleep in the corner!

What has everyone else got planned this weekend?

We've got a fairly quiet weekend just meeting up with family and friends for lunch and dinner, really not helping my diet at all! But hey ho! Hope you're all having a good week x

Hi All , I hope you’ve all had a lovely weekend :-). I can’t believe it’s the 2nd week of July already ! TTC journeys getting nearer !

We’ve spent the weekend visiting friends and holding their babies 💖. Had a serious chat about moving TTC up to August but Means potentially being a bridesmaid at 37 weeks if we got a BFP first time.

All the ifs and buts are so difficult arnt they! I’m really not used to have so little control over a situation 🤔

Hi @MrsMeow2019 your weekend sounds lovely! I've had a quiet one, lots of nice walks and food ooohhh move TTC to August!! A 37 week pregnant bridesmaid would look beautiful.
I'm wishing the next week away so I can get this bloomin' coil out x
